Worth donating?

Hi, so I'm thinking about starting to play MOP on this server now my main question would be is it worth donating for gold, gear, mounts etc? I'm asking this cause I don't want a random shutdown like it happend with Cata. Also are bgs active on here & what faction would u suggest me to go? Thanks for the answers ^^.

if wanna donate server for expenses its ok but if u planning donate for gear items etc its already x7 server find some friends and make ur gear day by day. u playing this **** (online games etc) for spending time not for hardcore raid ( i assume ...) ain't it ?
