I just started playing the MoP server couple days ago. I am trying to level up my mining to 300. Having a hard time finding even one Thorium vein. So far I have searched all of Silithus & Burning Steppes. As well as parts of Un'goro, and majority of Blasted Lands & Swamp of Sorrows.
Try Winterspring for Thorium. It is so easy to level up with Thorium gathering there.

Don't know if it's true, but I heard silithus don't have ores at all. For me, I always go to blasted lands or bottom edge of swamp of sorrows. Not too much, but enough to level
