Wipe/restart isn't an absolutely dumb idea. People don't have anything to play for. No ambition. But this was the best scripted TBC server, with great stability and netcode. And that might bring people back.
You're wrong about the reset. Like I said there is momentum happening and it is getting better. If you've been online and using /who each day you'd simply see that. Your statement about there being 200 less people is completely false. The population on alliance has gone up from 5 Online to 40 which is a 8x increase in a matter of 10 days. Reset will kill the server and a new Server will split population. Just relax and wait a few more weeks and the server will have 50+ Online at all times.
5 to 40? There is nothing to be killed off. It's dead, it's a meme and accept it. At END GAME open server you either follow the instruction to get into END GAME asap or it has 0, i mean nothing Reason to STAY, because it giveS nothing to your gameplay.Quote:

Without a doubt, Cysthen deserves big kudos for pushing for changes and actively contributing. However, I highly doubt pop will return to this server in a meaningful way unless something very, very big is announced.
In my opinion there is not enough differentiation between this server and other TBC competitors currently out there. True, the scripting is leaps and bounds better here than any other private server. But consider a new player's perspective: Do they choose to play on a high rate realm with no pop and poor economy with good scripting or a somewhat worse scripted server with 5k players and vibrant economy? The numbers prove they pick the latter.
I have a significant amount of time and money invested in this server, but sadly I can't justify coming back considering the other options out there.
In my opinion, a wipe makes sense under the following conditions:
- All content available on day 1
- Shop is restricted to not include final tier/season nor legendary gear (defeats p2w argument and provides catch-up mechanism)
- PVE content is tuned appropriately
- Rep, Honor, and Professions at high rates
Remove the barriers for people to do what they enjoy about the game, set an even playing field, and watch the pop increase.
With all that being said, it may be in their best interest to wait for other TBC projects to die instead of competing for pop. If so, they should come out and say that.

First things first. I think both of you are players that are upset and have been here forever. Secondly most of the players coming and staying are new players.
As I post this comment right now the population on the website is 400. That's already twice as much as it was before. As I said previously please have patience. A lot of players are completely new enjoying the rates and the progression at their own pace.
I'm sorry you have a bis character and nothing to do with it. I have a pretty naked main character and I did a Durnhold Keep 2 days ago and got Blue Tanking Shoulders. I understand you're upset but a lot of people are new and are here for the excitement and the new rates and I am helping them the best I can and seeing a positive impact in both attitude and population.
This Server is literally already what you just asked for. A high rate realm, it's basically brand new anyway with the amount of new players pouring in.
The only problem is a bunch of players in half BiS gear with negative attitudes thinking there's a way to fix it over night. I'm not a developer and I don't think I can speak for one but I'm pretty sure that's not how this works.
The new rates alone has increased population along with me whispering every new player that logs on "Are you new to the Server"? And a majority of them say "Yes" in which I mail them 5 Gold and invite them to the Guild. I have mailed over 170 NEW PLAYERS Gold.
The Guild is 10 Days old and has 280+ Members and consistently 20-30 Online.
With that said, when you stand here and say that there aren't any new players that want to play here. I can't help but say that's completely false because I have seen first hand an increase in new players on the realm.
I respect your opinions and I know you want to help and want to play on the Server you love and see it prosper and have that glory that it once had, I'm only saying give it some time. There has been changes for the betterment of the realm. It's not going to happen over night but I think it's a big step in the right direction.
It could be a lot worse. They could have just continued ignoring us and left the Server as it was but they didn't.
And for that. There is Hope.

The facts speak for themselves, Alliance had a Karazhan group going today for the first time in I don't know how long. Population is going up at a slow but steady rate, especially for Alliance. I don't know how Horde is doing but I can assume they are fine as I saw a Sunwell group ganking people at Isle.
Lets just get something straight, I don't see people crying to Reset Icecrown and that Server has been up for how long? Like atleast 8+ Years?
With these rates in place this is the definitive BC Server. As is already. It just needs some promoting and time to grow. There was no Rotation of players with the old rates because nobody wanted to make Alts. It was too much work, and new players were turned off by the 5x Rates being advertised but only 1x Rep and Prof. That problem is now fixed and new players will stay.
Thing is not everybody knows about it.
On the Website it was announced as News but the same day they posted another News Article above it and then another one a few days later.
Regardless of that fact it is still getting new players. I have literally seen it.
Outland has the same possibility of being as big as Icecrown at this point.
Wow, you saw someone run a 10 man dungeon while another realm saw an increase of more than 8,000 (EIGHT THOUSAND) players during the entire day. It's the middle of the night and it still has more than 10 times the players this server has at its peak in the middle of a night. A fully progressed realm. With 1x rates by the way.
No one wants to reset Icecrown - that's because it has 10k ppl in the middle of the night.
They're just going to close this server like they did Neltharion.
No one's gonna come back because all the people left. It's a PvP realm, there's no PvP. There's 1200 items on AH or something.
I took a look at your armory... Do you even play on this server?! You've been posting for more than 3 months now... You don't have a trinket or a libram yet and half your items are from Hellfire Peninsula... You have 2 honorable kills. And you say there's hope. Hope is the first step on a road to disappointment.

I agree with Cysthen. There is hardly any promotion for tbc. I played when it came out and dinged 70. But many of us quit because of atunements quests (aye im a noob haha) and low rates. Warmane should atleast give new players the option to create a lvl 58 character! But not even sure if Warmane have the tech to do that?Quote:

You are right I am low geared, I am a freshly dinged 70. I waited to level to 70 until the rates were changed and was level 60 prior because I didn't want to level through with low rep rates. I hit 70 and am honored with everything, revered with Aldor already. I don't play as much as I would like to because I work as an Electrician full time and I am Married and have a life outside of this game.
Not to make excuses and such but I know what I need to do next. I am 3k Rep away from Revered with Caverns and that will give me Legs and Weapon for Tanking, I did the Netherstorm Bessy Escort for Tank Bracers. I am following a guide on where to get starter Tank gear without Dungeons. I have done a Durnhold and got the Blue Shoulders and I need Sekketh Halls quest for a Blue Tanking Necklace.
Thing is a lot of players here have lives outside the game, me included. A majority of the time I spend on this realm is logging on, mailing new players gold and logging off before work to be entirely honest. For example this post I am writing is before work as well.
All the more reasons why the higher rates are enticing for players like me who like to get on for a bit at a time and feel progression. So I am not trolling I am just trying to help out. Nice jab though I though I legitimately found it entertaining xD
Gear aside I have a lot of experience in this game, from Vanilla-Wrath. I was a Co-GM on another Realm 7 Years ago that was 14/15 Naxx and Kel'thuzad had 3x Health which required full World Buffs/Consumes/Scrolls/Soul Stone on Entire Raid. We got it to 23% so had it been normal rates we basically beat the game.
If you want to see what I am talking about look up Work in Progress kills Kel'thuzad and it will bring you to what I am talking about, like 12 of those players were players that were in my Guild like Vittnet and Thorax and such.
So yeah long story short I am just like all of you, with history with this game and I love this game. To be entirely honest I haven't done all of the BC Content and that's why I was hoping to see this realm come back to life. I wanted to see a Realm like Icecrown but for Burning Crusade with pugs going 24/7.
We all have our reasons but yeah not trolling.
Great you got your Challenge atleast on TBC, while bosses are Overtuned not everybody ENJOYS this, shows the fact how many guild Quit after beating the game completely with Kil Jaeden kills in Sunwell Plateau / Illidan in Black Temple.Quote:

It had one of the most balanced PVP, PVE gameplay ever, no JOKEMOURNES or any Signifficant items are needed for YOUR progression to get FROM A point to B point.
Promotion is a must have thing, what Warmane doesn't GIVE again, Next to the normal 3x proff rates to MAKE AUCTION HOUSE Alive, I dont joke you when you get 3x skill and 1 herb/mining material / SPOT. This means 1x proff rates, there is NO flying or a way to get around FARMING, GRINDING Professions in TBC without the Communitys EFFORT. (Gold replaces your working hours)
Get everything UP make things FARMABLE, NERF FIGHTS thats what this server needs more than anything. There is no Competition in the Game right now.
