Alchemy mastery switching

I recently picked up the Elixir mastery quest, however, once handing it in to the quest guy in Shat, I had a change of mind, and thought I would go for potion master instead.
I abandoned the quest, and went to pick up the potion master quest instead, however, I am unable to pick it up from either of the quest givers.

Since I didn't actually complete Elixir mastery I should still have time to swap to potions correct ?

Or am I now stuck with Elixir mastery even thought I haven't done any quests for it ?

Just for clarity... I have NOT completed any mastery chain yet, nor been awarded anything.

Is alchemy bugged if you take a new mastery or did it get fixed?
