What's a good class to role? I'd like to Arena & Raid.
Any general tips or tricks you can think of? Or perhaps forum threads worth browsing?

Just choose a class you like to play, everything is needed, tanks especially tho. Get yourself in a guild and start raiding. PvP it's a bit tough cuz no pop on lordaeron, but still evening bgs are a thing.
In my experience as far as the Ally side is concerned priests, rogues, shamans and warlocks are the rarest classes that I see when I raid. Of course tanks are also quite valuable. If you play Ally and want to be more 'rare' pick one of those.
