It's in the rules to not suggest things like this.
You can always donate and skip the queue. 10 bucks man, a pack of cigarettes, a couple of beers.
Basically we already experience lag and crashes when the realm is full so increasing that number would only make it worse. In my opinion it should be decreased, maybe to 9k because 10k is a way too round number, 9 is better.

In my opinion the solution is creating another realm like Icecrown and offer free transfer for ppl go there. For sure the cross realm should be activated for BG and Arena.
This was a solution to blizzard many time ago when the warsong and other realms were full.
Hope admins think about it.
