If I remember correctly is a green gear, something around 2k gs, with it you can start queueing normal rdf and nothing more

It is enough to start doing Fos/Pos/Toc normal farms.
Before you know it you'll hit 4k+ gs and you'll be able to que for rdf hc.
If you got some spare gold you can also check the auction house for cheap BoE.
