Can't really speak for this server, but on retail on this patch hpriest + hunter / rogue / frmage (ordered by skill req/difficulty, imo) were pretty dominant.

But ye, run alt runs. Get into guild. Grab as much stuff as possible from emblems. Some PvP gear can up your GS too.
