I'd rather just they go the blizzard schedule and reset on Tuesdays.
But it was basically like that even before RDF was a thing. You'd have people grouping up for whatever the daily badge quest was, and that was it. Was very hard to find groups to do other dungeons...

For your question on the models, you don't have to redownload the whole client. There are just a couple files (which I can't remember the name of at this moment) that need to be deleted or renamed....
