1. [Alliance] [RP/PVP/PVE] [US] Templars of Ironforge

    ☼Templars of Ironforge☼

We are to be the first role-player friendly guild on the server of Lordaeron that also functions as a player versus environment guild, as well as one that can engage in player versus player as well. The concept of the guild - or the order as it will be known hence forth - is a unique one as well that will focus more so on the role playing aspect of the game rather than functionality and diversity.

    How new is this guild?

The guild was created on 2/2/2016, hope that helps.

    What is our purpose?

Our purpose spreads through out various aspects of the game all at once in order to bring a new and interesting flavour to the server overall.

Role Play: This will be a heavy focus of the guild being that it's made up of specific races and classes only. Everything that you do normally from questing to a dungeon raid to even mundane tasks such as fishing or mining, we're open to pushing people to role play more during these events, using their own race-specific language even to do so. Even if no one is around try stirring some up by shouting while you work, or spouting off quotes based on what you're doing (as an example you could shout something like "Die vile fiend!" while facing off with a monster etc). Never know what you might get if you drop a little role play into the mix. We'll also be pushing the use of languages, mailboxes, letters, care packages for people, random gifts like a flower or something, who knows!

One aspect of the role playing here that will be unique is our focus on the defense of Dun Morogh, Dwarven/Gnome encampments and cities, and more importantly Ironforge. Ironforge is where all of our guild meet-ups and a lot of major off-time role playing will happen; mostly in one of the many taverns within Ironforge itself, but there are interesting little outposts like Brewnall village that many can go out to and mess with (be it skinning, hunting for meat, or fishing). Here players can share stories with one another, and maybe even drum up recruits for future adventures or new members to the guild!

The Stonefire Tavern usually has players role playing in it later in the day, just saying.

Bringing Players Together: Another facet of our guild will be to bring players together in unique environments where role play is combined with - as stated above - average every day tasks within the game, and here are some examples.

One example of this is say you're riding a horse or a ram through Goldshire and you come across a group of players that are all low level. You can announce your presence in the zone based chat (usually /1) and say that if anyone needs help in any way that they should send you a letter or show up at the local tavern. In the tavern just sit around, try to drum up role playing situations, and then try to spur the conversation into if they need help. Sometimes someone might need help with a quest, or help finding items, or hell even just advice on how to play, but regardless of this try to be friendly, cooperative, and generally helpful while also staying in some form of character role playing wise.

Another good example is say you're traveling the roads or just hunting down materials and you see someone in trouble; Horde or Alliance of course, go over and see if you can help out whenever they need it if you have time to spare. Now it's more dangerous to help out a Horde of course, but at the same time it's not like they're our main enemy even on a player versus player server lore wise.

Finally this example is something that will appeal to most standard gamers. A lot of people between the levels of one to sixty tend to miss out on a lot of fun in dungeons because of a lack of either tanks or healers. In this guild we'll exclusively have Paladins, Priests, and as a subset Warriors and Death Knights (the latter being very rare), and because we would try to gather a lot of these characters and classes naturally there would end up being more healers and tanks. We'd also enforce the concept of our members respecing and even helping them fund it so they can play something different than the big scary guy who holds a huge sword.

Player Versus ?????: As with any game we will be focusing on player versus player and player versus environment as a whole, but that doesn't mean we can't have higher standards or better behaviour while doing it.

In terms of player versus player we'll be focusing on the concept of Protection and Divine Judgment, not so much random attacks, vengeance, revenge, or anything petty or ignorant. Paladins, Priests, and the concept of what a noble knight is or a knight in general, generally have a higher standard of attitude, they're not some kind of rough housing brigand who will just jump some poor bastard on the side of the road. So if you see a random Horde, leave him or her be unless you're defending yourself or someone else from them (this can also mean you can defend a random quarry of random NPCs too). In fact if the Horde is in trouble, treat them like you would an Alliance and help them out if possible. However should a specific guild within the Horde start targeting people, or various guilds invade any towns, or if they attack a capital city, then we may protect and serve as a local defense - most important being Dun Morogh and Ironforge. Divine Judgment would be more of a retaliation in the form of joining battlegrounds together or 2vs2/3vs3, or if for example the Horde at Tarren Mill decide to attack Southshore, we're free to go and level Tarren Mill entirely for their crimes against innocent people.

Player versus the environment is an obvious thing; we'll be pushing players to go on dungeon runs, raids, and generally helping each other with quests overall. No one should be constantly partying alone, so help each other out!

Final Thoughts: Overall we want to bring a new spice and flavour to the server by doing something new to it. There are a lot of multi-box based players who generally join a guild, never do anything for the little guys, and give everyone a giant middle finger because they can. We aim to change this by bringing back some good old fashioned fun, cooperation, and friendship overall.

    Who can join?

We're taking in Dwarven Paladins and Priests mostly; it doesn't matter what type of role you play within those two classes, but the classes themselves as well as the race is paramount. As a subset we'll be recruiting Gnome and Dwarven Warriors and very rarely a Death Knight or two; though the concept of a Death Knight clashes entirely with the concept of a Paladin, exceptions can be made in the case of those whom have died and fallen from the light (in terms of role play value). Warriors of either kind will likely not ascend in rank beyond a certain low-point, and Death Knights will also remain a lower rank, but again due to role playing logic there may be exceptions down the road if people actually join. I've also allowed a few Humans to join, but they must be willing to understand that the life they choose here would be far different than living in Stormwind and that whole region.

If by chance you do want to join, send me a letter in game and make me a believer.

What are our rules and or code of conduct?

    • Be polite and friendly to everyone you come across.

    • Don't be a loud/foul mouthed spammer. Everyone curses, everyone gets immature, but don't take it too far.

    • Don't be a ganker, a guild thief, or a loot ninja.

    • Stick to your class/race and its lore a bit; if you're a Paladin then you're Lawful Good for example, but it doesn't mean you can't be a bit rowdy in a Dwarven tavern where that kind of thing is so common you find it daily.

    • Help the guild grow both bank wise and member wise. Increasing its reputation by helping other players and spreading the word is also welcome too, and a part of the in character role playing aspect.

    • Try to make everyone feel welcome not only in the guild but in the server as well. We've all been alone, we've all had poor experiences with guilds and not having groups, lets make things better okay?

    • With wherever you go, whatever you do, try to incorporate role playing into it. There will always be trolls and the moderators simply don't care, so we have to not care too. Ignore the haters, with every group you get with every random player you see, role play. The more we do, the more you can bet your arse that a new role player might pop up!

    Ranks

All ranks will share the responsibility of pushing the overall goal of the guild and will be rewarded for that both in a practical and role play sense, this will also help them ascend in the ranks as well.

Grand Master: The Grand Master has total control over the guild and all of its facets. The only way to become the Grand Master is for the former to step down due to age, illness, injury, or some other reason. The Divine Cleric and Lord-Commanders may also band together to vote for the Grand Master to step down, but only in extreme situations.

Lord-Commander: The Lord-Commanders are just below the Grand Master in rank, but not responsibility. They have to oversee the entire guild along side with the Grand Master and Divine Cleric; however they are only made up of elite Paladins whom have climbed the ranks from the bottom to the top. Being more combat and discipline oriented, the Lord-Commanders are in charge mostly of the combat and player versus environment portion of the guild (from running dungeons, to hosting raids, to sending out patrols in various zones to see if anyone needs help, to hosting player versus player events against Horde cities, to battlegrounds). They are also in charge of finding proper Noble Knights that are experienced enough to help teach those below him or her (teaching them about all aspects of PVP/PVE etc). The only way to become a Lord-Commander is to have a great many achievements and accomplishments under your belt and to have been extremely productive towards the goal of the Templars overall.

Divine Cleric: The Divine Cleric may be one rank below the Lord-Commanders, but the position carries similar weight in responsibilities overall. The only difference being that they do not focus on the combat and military portion of the guild; instead the Divine Cleric is more focused on teaching younger and less educated Priests how to properly go about playing their roles, and effectively pushing new Priests to join the order. They will also make it apparent that Holy and Discipline Priests are more wanted and needed than that of the Shadow-teachings; not only are Shadow Priests a bit more dangerous, but they dabble in darker natured magic and that could be against the teachings of the Light. They will assemble players and send them off to various regions where popular dungeon runs are being held or just to patrol zones to see if a healer is needed, which they sorely are. To become the Divine Cleric you must be a Holy Priest of the Templars, and akin to the Lord-Commanders you must have many achievements and accomplishments held to your name that focus around the goal of the Templars. [Note: This is the highest rank a Priest can achieve in the guild]

Noble Knight: Noble Knights are experienced Knights whom have reached a specific peak in their abilities both in combat and in character, showing that they are in a league of their own when compared to weaker or less well behaved members. Not everyone will become a Noble Knight as this group is a more elite and proper version of a normal Knight; having more experience than their former rank, and having the personality traits of a good natured person who can take orders while making their own minds up about what is good and bad. Their goals mainly are to be near perfect representatives of the guild in a public setting; always trying to help people out, always acting with a more noble or prestigious behaviour about them, and by being a good leader from-example. Another focus is that they will be trying their best to teach many stand out Squires along their way to Sergeant or Knighthood status by having them follow the Noble Knight around, role playing a lot with them, and generally questing with one another as per evaluation. The only way to become a Noble Knight is to be recognized by the higher ranks for your outstanding work in the guild, and to have first been a Knight. [Note: This is the highest rank a Warrior can achieve in the guild]

Knight: A Knight is a Paladin or Warrior who are to be considered trained combatants both on horseback and on their own two feet. Most players within the guild will remain a Knight for a very long time as a Knight shares many duties with the Sergeant as far as being a good example for Squires and Initiates, and along with the Sergeant can have a Squire or Initiate travel along with them exclusively for whatever quests or adventures are to be had. Knights may also lead small groups in defense of small Alliance encampments as well, and generally are responsible for keeping the guild in good standing with the public while also being the "front runner" in any combative situations. To become a Knight you must show that you are more disciplined than most lower ranks, and you must first have been a Sergeant.

Sergeant: Those who are chosen to be Sergeants are those who are well versed in many situations; they've proven themselves loyal to Ironforge and the Templars overall, and haven't displayed any negative traits in their trial periods. Sergeants are exclusively meant to exist to train up and help out the lower two ranks of members; from general tips on how to role play in the basic sense, to questing with them, to just trying to help players find materials and what not for their trade skills. To become a Sergeant you must first be a Squire whom has proven themselves to a higher rank by showing leadership and more importantly cooperative qualities.

Squire: Squires are more so errand boys and girls to the Sergeants, Knights, and sometimes a Noble Knight if they are deemed worthy by them. Squires must be on their best behaviour at all times as they are considered as a true member of the order, having proven themselves to be worthy of more than just an Initiate.

Initiate: The lowest rank of the guild, an Initiate is a trial rank given to those whom seek a position within the guild. They must be evaluated based on behaviour and skill both in combat and in personality, and have shown dedication to the order if they wish to ascend within the ranks.

    Additional Notes

It would be wise to note that if you join this guild you will be entering a role playing environment. Using the whisper system as I've said before shouldn't happen, instead send letters and packages to one another and plan meet ups at various local taverns and inns. Invite new players to join various groups, spread the word of the Templar of Ironforge, and simply exist as a guardian angel to most.

As far as Addons go, we use the Total RP 2 Build 1.088, and will be incorporating it more and more so it's wise to download and mess with it! You will need to activate the whole "out of date plugins" thing, but that'll be fine.

If you have any questions feel free to ask, and I hope to see some interested faces soon!

    F.A.Q.

    Q: Do you accept humans?
A: Yes, only if they accept what they see here and want to be a part of this kind of thing both in and out of character.

    Q: Do you accept druids/hunters/mages/warlocks/rogues?
A: No, the only way we would is under extremely in depth in detail in character exceptions.

Q: What about death knights? Do you accept them?
A: No, they - like Rogues and Warlocks - directly conflict with our ideals. The only way we would allow a death knight into our order is if they were following some kind of path to redemption based story line, a fallen member of the guild trying to return to glory, or simply a lost soul trying to return to the light.

    Q: Got any bank tabs?
    A: Three and counting.

    Q: Do you guys PVP?
A: Yes, and we will more as we grow.

Q: Do you guys help with leveling up?
A: Yes, read what we're about and you'll know that too.

Q: Do you have to role play to be in the guild?
    A: Yes.

Q: Do you have to be in the guild to role play with people in it?
A: Not at all! There is a large base of role players that are within and outside of the guild! We want to build a large base of players who will role play with one another and new players often, even if they aren't inside our guild!

  2. More Notes/Update

No one has joined as of yet, though at least one person has tried. If you're not a Dwarf or a Gnome and you're not one of the classes we'd allow, do not despair! We'll be pushing Role Playing perspectives through out the entire community when we find social people to not only group up with, but to talk to in general. One major activity I'll be pushing in the guild or the order rather will be to actively liven up the world of Azeroth; wherever players go, whatever they're doing, always try to role play in some capacity. Even if you're just doing what Dwarves do best by getting drunk and singing at a bar in your native language, as long as you're adhering to the code of what a Paladin is at it's core - you're good to go. People outside of the guild are always invited to role play with people inside the guild as well; through mailing systems and through local meet ups at taverns so we can quest together and what have you - all of this will be something I'll strive for.

Something else to keep in mind is that this server is littered with multi-boxers and generally rude players when it comes to social interaction. Most people group up with the 80's and leave everyone else alone to die in a hole, well we aim to fix that. If you want some place to belong, we're your guys/gals.

Also to quote the Paladin Code from the WoW Wiki (I did not write this nor do I take ownership of it, this is the product of whomever wrote the WoW Wiki, not me).

The paladin’s code requires that they respect legitimate authority, act with honor (not lying, not cheating, not using poison and so forth), help those in need (provided they do not use their help for evil or chaotic ends), and punish those who harm or threaten innocents. While they may adventure with others from different organizations, they will never knowingly associate with evil persons, nor continue an association with someone who consistently offends their moral code. Paladins may accept only henchmen, followers, or cohorts whose intentions are good. Paladins must be good or will lose all Light-given abilities if they ever willingly commit an evil act, becoming ex-paladins. Atoning is usually a long and difficult process.

In exceptional circumstances paladins may act unlawfully if they are certain it is for the greater good, but they must never work for unjust or evil causes knowingly. Since paladins believe in honesty, honor, and loyalty, even pretending to support what they know is an unjust cause in order to bring down a greater evil is heavily frowned upon.

Paladins don't always have to work within good or neutral organizations, as seen by the Scarlet Crusade and others; however, they do have to believe they are working for good organizations or have faith that their cause is good and just. Paladins can be evil (as illustrated by Renault Mograine and Arthas, before he took up Frostmourne), but as long as they believe their cause to be just, the Light will continue to serve them.

    Happy hunting!

  3. Bank/Profession Update

I've been level grinding and burning money here and there in order to get enough levels in Mining/Blacksmith with my original toon to help produce low level gear for new players at cheap prices in the Auction House, or directly to the guild itself. I've been mining and or farming a great deal of ore and fish as well in order to help both the guild and server too. The Templars of Ironforge believe heavily in controlling a small portion of the market by releasing cheaper priced goods than the competition, that way new players have easier times finding something worth while. On a separate toon I've also been grinding up Skinning/Tailoring so new players both within and outside of the guild can gain some level of compassion when it comes to gathering leather, cloth items, or simply bags.

In other news due to the above information my gold funds have dropped sharply. Because of this and the lack of players joining the guild/order, my income isn't sufficient enough to buy even a single tab for the guild bank - yet. I've ran guilds before so it won't be any trouble to buy and organize the bank tabs in time though.

    Party/Recruitment News

I've noticed there aren't many Dwarven Paladin, Priests or Warriors out there, nor are there many Gnome Warriors out there. I'm hoping that people find it interesting to be involved in a new environment and start making these characters to actively seek out my own. The big reason I'm suggesting this is because I'm seeing a great deal of people struggling at low levels (between level 1 and 40 even) to find a tank, a healer, or anyone cooperative to even quest with! Most people are forced to go into quests alone or avoid dungeons all together, but today that changed. I found two groups where they struggled to find players willing to join them despite there being twenty to fifty players in the same general area online and active. People ignore one another, they Multi-Box to avoid one another, and it leaves some people helpless. We as a guild/order aim to change this, and if you'd like to be a part of the change I suggest you join in now.

To sum up a story that happened I willingly helped out two groups through the Deadmines earlier because I noticed the above situation was occurring. I remembered how I really wanted to go through that dungeon and I only found maybe one good group to do so with. Most dungeon parties are dysfunctional and broken, but I refused to let these people go it alone. You can make a change too by joining the Templars of Ironforge; bringing flavour-text, role playing, and good will to the people of the server will count for something.

Also note I will always consider the Stonefire Tavern sort of a base of operations for the guild/order until we expand. So at random points in the day stop in and see if I'm there (at Ironforge of course)!

Lets build something fantastic together guys, you can do it!

  4. Role Playing Addon

Also note I'd use the addon SpokenSpell, but I can't make heads or tails of it - maybe someone can help with that!

    [EDIT]

I've since switched to Total RP 2 Build 1.008 - which does work if you get the right download, so I suggest using this one.
    Edited: February 9, 2016

  5. I'm using Total RP2 Build 1.008 btw. Unfortunately the 2 might not connect to each others well. Just something to consider

  6. The only reason I don't use Total RP2 is because it says it's out of date. Whenever I try to load out of date addons they crash my game, or will create weird bugs and glitches.

  7. Ah, it works for me, though I did check 'load outdated addons'. Perhaps you were using the wrong version?

I only used 1.008 so I can't tell about the rest

  8. I check the load outdated addons, last time I did it though again I had a lot of problems. So I snagged the last update designed for 3.3.5 which was the Total RP version I'm using :D.

  9. Death Knights and Warriors in the Order

I've been getting a lot of questions as to why I would allow a Warrior into the order, but not so much a Death Knight and here is where I'll explain this.

Death Knights are abominations in some respect; they were risen from the grave in order to serve under the Lich King, though many broke free from such a command and fled back to their respective alliances. At this point they still have a darker, evil, more sinister origin, thus making them completely against the teachings of a Paladin overall (whom is told not to even associate with evil on a small scale). Granted the order I represent will not hold the same direct bias against evil or the Undead per-say (as my closest ally is a Death Knight of all things), but allowing them into the fold within our ranks would be completely against the moral structure of the guild overall. That being said a Death Knight might be allowed in as a lower tier soldier, but never anything beyond a certain point unless role play-wise they prove themselves to be of pure intent.

Warriors however are significantly different and have no real alignment or horrifying origin as just about everyone can pick up a sword, axe, spear or whatever and defend or attack something or someone. While they do not have the power of the Light, there is nothing stating they cannot be a man or woman of Knighthood or even a Noble in any sense of the term. They could rise pretty high in the guild if their intentions are pure!

    Relation to the Scarlet/Argent Crusades

The Scarlet Crusaders are a bunch of zealots who simply want to destroy and purge the Undead, the Argent Crusaders are trying to unite people to do the same as well as to defy the Lich King (but aren't crazed zealots). The Templars of Ironforge won't simply try to apply our teachings of the Light to destroying and hunting down the Scourge. While the Undead and Death Knights do pose a significant problem (in that order), our order won't just go slamming people around for the hell of it. Dwarves have more honour than that, Paladins do as well, and there is no reason for pointless violence. Again as I've stated above if there is war however, retaliation will come swift as divine judgment will be required when innocent blood is spilled. For example the base of occupation for the order is Ironforge; if the city were attacked by Orc, we would defend it and potentially destroy several of their more well fortified villages in order to show them that evil does not pay. If we had members online and you called out that Stormwind was being attacked, we would do much of the same too.

  10. Quick Update

So far no new biters to the guild, but I'm slowly getting stronger and spending some time harvesting ingredients to improve my cooking/smithing/mining levels in order to get more gold put towards the bank (I'm at 50g right now so it's rough pickins).

Another update is that if you check the very first post I have about the guild, I changed a lot of the information around so it looks neater and nicer overall.

  11. Bank Tabs, Gold and Ranks

For now the Bank Tabs are completely off limits due to the fact well, there aren't any. I've got fifty gold to my name and I balance out at that more often than not (what with the expenses of skills and ale, seriously alcohol is a pretty penny sometimes). I've been working on getting some gold together for a while now, we'll see how it goes.

As far as Ranking goes, I should note that in the next hour after this post is made I should have general ranks up in the main post here, so go look up top!

Do note that the ranking system is very basic and I didn't want to just copy and paste the definitions of things, so I tried my best to explain the ranking system overall. It's not perfect, but if you have suggestions on how to clean it up and make it look pretty let me know.

  12. Priests Wanted

I am so tired of hearing that Healing is so hard to do at an early level. If people all around the world can do it, there's no reason you guys can't give it a try right? So I'm making an open casting call for Holy and Discipline Priests to step forward and join the guild. We're looking for players who are unafraid of the suspected "hardships" of playing one of these two amazing branches of the Priest; not only is this guild going to push people playing together so you won't even be alone when questing, but we'll even teach you how to effectively play these roles without any issue!

So make a new character, start up an old one, lets see some Healers!

  13. I'm planning to create a priest, i just downloaded the client, say, do i need to strictly be a dwarf? Or can humans join as well ? Either way is fine, just clearing some thoughts.

  14. I'm planning to create a priest, i just downloaded the client, say, do i need to strictly be a dwarf? Or can humans join as well ? Either way is fine, just clearing some thoughts.
Dwarven / Gnome races specific if possible. I'm trying to push players to go out of their comfort zone and to try not only new races, classes, and talent focuses, but to also try the whole role playing element too as it can be very fun!

  15. I understand, i'll be creating one right now then, i guess it'll be a funny experience. I'll just need to research a ton about Dwarven lore and such. She is a female dwarven priest that goes by the name of Edoleen. see ya.
