Amg, thanks. I would like to start with this, but I just don't get the time or the will to. But when I see more, I just want to try it myself *tear rolls down cheek*.
Not sure what you'd categorize this under, but Guildinn (or GI) is a GFX site where you can find resources (like stocks, renders, PSD's, tutorials, etc) and people to CNC (comment 'n' critique) your sigs and help you.
You have to sign up to view some stuff (like the render gallery I believe), but YOU DON'T HAVE TO POST if you want to just gather resources.
Just thought I'd throw a super helpful site out there! It taught me the basics and most of what I know. ^^
There are tutorials on GI that will literally teach you the basics (lighting, focal, simple effects), and lower level tutorials.
Most are well done and guide you step by step though.
If you mean in general, many tutorials will be detailed enough for you to follow, but you won't get why or what you're doing and probably won't do it right. You have to start by learning the components of a tag (signature) before you make one altogether.
This is a big help. I started using photoshop recentley and now I'm like searching for tutorials and pics non-stop. I see good ones rarely but these i like very much :D
Thx for the contribution. Uncertain if you still play here as this is a 2 year old thread that hadn't been posted in since the end of last year, but I'd like to add 2 pieces of advice to those using these tutorials.
With the medium tutorial, of the panda.. you would not want to do the lighting like that. notice how the top of the panda's head is hard to see well? you would have wanted to remove the lights from the black parts of the face in particular, and either add them individually [more advanced] or just leave them out all together [less advanced].
With the red demon sig, I forget what it is, but I think it was diablo? anyway.. it's slightly blurry. using sharpen options, or duplicate>high pass [between like .5 and 3] then overlay/hard light/soft light, will increase sharpness.
