Technical WotLK constantly patching to newer versions

My friend is having this issue ^^

And is there any way to "re-roll" back to the version before the patch so he doesn't need to download again?

first - copy old version back from archive, and then starting the game by running wow.exe - change it in icon properties... i suppose
