1. Toxic community

Greetings, while playing on this server since its release I've encountered nothing but awful players. Community on this server (or atleast alliance) is worse than LoL. So my question is, why these people aren't getting banned or suspended? I mean, i play PvP or level up and its very very common occasion where some troll just comes by and starts cursing me. Why? Why do people do that? Its unexplainable. Why are server moderators allowing this kind of behaivor?

Do people really come by and start cursing? Never happend to me without me and someone else are disagreeing on something - and then the discussion are really intens ^^(play allaince too).

Reason why I think they accept it is because it is very simple to stop someone. Just ignore them :)

Glhf with the issue! :p I guess there are many trolls that just want to start a discussion there :)

  3. Funny. I've encountered nothing but kindness. People willing to answer questions I had in game. People willing to team up rather than gank a quest that people are waiting around for so that everyone gets the objective complete rather than having to wait...people willing to accept you into a guild and help and even run with you into dungeons and help you get a team together in lieu of the dungeon finder.

So yeah, in my experience people have been very nice. We even had a situation with a horde player (I'm Alliance) messing around with us in Ashenvale but -not- killing any of us, and just kinda hanging out and emoting at us and helping us clear the way to an objective that was kinda overpowering ....

    Everyone's real nice here.

  4. So either are you two most lucky players here or i am the unluckiest player here

  5. you are the unluckiest player ever... lol

I just started playing and although I'm only lv41. I have had zero problems at all.

  6. I haven't had this problem either with both low-levels and high-levels (nobody know my characters in-game).

  7. So either are you two most lucky players here or i am the unluckiest player here
Or maybe your character name has something to do with it .

  8. So my question is, why these people aren't getting banned or suspended?
Whether you're some bizarre exception or just attract that kind of people, are you setting them on ignore? Are they coming with different characters just to get around the ignore and to continue doing it, again and again, for it to actually be harassment, and not simply something you can handle yourself but expect them to get banned for instead?

  9. I haven't had any problems with people in game, in fact, I've seen more crap on the forums lol.

Do you... even play on this server?

Although not to extremes described by OP, the majority of the players I encounter are like that, yeah. They team up unwillingly, if at all, because they want "more experience", even though you can do quests twice as fast while grouped. They act greedy in dungeons, taking stuff which they genuinely have no idea what to do with but they're sure they can make profit from them. Several weeks ago I joined an ICC25 group with a Combat Rogue of mine and I told the group several times that the only thing I needed from the whole raid were the boots from Marrow25. I was the only Combat Rogue in the raid and there were no Feral Druids. We killed the boss, the boots dropped and pretty much every non-caster in the group rolled for them - DKs, warriors, Rets, hunters - you name it. I left after that, saying that I had just one wish from the group for the whole raid and they totally disregarded it and do you know what happened? Got like 5 people whispering me and cursing me, calling me all kinds of things. So in the end they turned it out that I was the bad person because I left the raid. Haven't pugged ever since.

Players mostly look after themselves when completing quests and if you're going to slow them down, then they just leave after they're done. I've had many many cases, the latest one being several days ago, where I went to a quest and had people waiting for the NPC - I ask for invites, I don't get any, then I make a macro to tag the mob immediately and, boy, would you believe just how fast they invite me after I tag the mob... And then there is criticism - people playing an MMO cannot handle any criticism. They either disagree, even though they're wrong, or, after realizing they're wrong, they just say "I don't care". It's like trying to argue with a teenager. A-mazing...

It's just humans. Level up to 80 and find yourself a nice guild to play with. Until then just try to ignore other players. It's for the better. There are good and nice players out there. They're just not that many and you have to find them and stick to them.

  11. I've only leveled to 64 so far on Horde side, but so far it's been nothing but positive experiences. The few times it's been negative, has been due to language differences or game misunderstandings. Examples would be loot disagreements, fight mechanic misunderstandings, dungeon misunderstandings, stuff like that. Nothing that couldn't be fixed by an attempt through google translate.

I had one Sunken Temple run where a player only spoke Spanish. While we were doing the snake statue puzzle, the player would hit their snake out of order. After the second time, instead of raging and kicking the person from the group, i just used google translate to say something like, "Please wait till I instruct you to click the statue." After saying that in party, they responded with a simple "Okay, sry."

The run went fine from there. It's rare that I find trolls while leveling, but so far, it's been fine. I'm sure i'll encounter them, but in the mean time I'm just patient with everyone and instead of assuming they have brain problems I just assume there is some fundamental misunderstanding. It's been working out so far.

Also <Dirty> is a really nice guild if you run into them horde side. Nothing but helpful players.

Unless you put the group together yourself... stuff like this is bond to happen. I would NEVER go into a pug group and ask for only one item from the whole raid when everyone is out for themselves or the leader puts the loot on master. I have heard these type of nightmares dating back to vanilla.

Isn't this the reason that people do "reserved" any way? And at the same time, why is your loot more important than theirs?

  14. It's ups and downs in the community, at least in Alliance. There are people who would be willing to help you out and stuff, and there will be people who are selfish.

There's at least this one holy paladin who ninjaed everything (green gear, blue gear, boss drop, you name it) in one of my Utgarde Pinnacle run.

Also, Stormwind is the Alliance city with the worst city community I've ever seen in Lordaeron. Each and every troll chat comes from there. Every beggar is there. I've decided to spend my time in Ironforge instead if I need to auction stuff or something else.

Don't even get me started with global. Each time someone asks stuff, there will be people who would troll them. There's that ingame and irl racial/religion dissing too. (I'm a Gnome, I'm Muslim and I main a DK, so that's triple combo for me. Less on the latter tho)

Oh, and of course, if your brain can't take it, just put Healsonheels on ignore list.

As I said though, there's still some positive stuff happening. Most non-80 heroic dungeon run I've been on are quite fun and social (and chill too). People will give me nice tip whenever I fulfilled gear/profession request for them.

I'm talking about cases where you're literally the only one eligible for the item or THE most eligible and yet the other ****heads still don't give it to you, thinking out some stupid excuse like "he rolled more" even though the item is barely viable for them and in most cases a downgrade.

People prefer to justify themselves with the simple "highest roll wins" rule, saying that's most fair, when actually it is not. If a combat rogue is rolling for an item that's BiS for him and another fury warrior rolls for it too in case the item doesn't even figure in their upgrade spreadsheet, then what's the point of giving it to the warrior? Only because "he rolled higher"? Where's the common sense in that? In my case this was especially true since the exact next boss - LDW - drops the 2nd BiS warrior boots and you can easily get BS-crafted boots, which are your 3rd BiS. So why roll on some ****ty-for-your-class leather boots only to **** with another player?
