Well, theoretically it does not automatically mean alliance will have the best players. Practically it does. Out of ALL the people who are serious about PvP and dedicate the majority of their WoW time to it (if not 100%), the majority will choose the side with more advantages in PvP, naturally. Same applies to PvE and horde. If you don't give a crap about PvE and you just wanna be at the top of the ladder in 2v2, why would you pick horde? Because undead looks cooler than human? Because you have some friends who are playing as horde already? For some people, that might be the case, but I assure you - more advantagious racials make those people quite a minority. If majority of PvP players are on alliance side, the basic theory of probability suggests the best of the best players are there (alliance) as well.
I thought we were talking BGs here.
It's all connected. Aluschl stated that alliance are mostly winning battlegrounds just because of a gear difference, nothing else. In high ranks of arena, everyone is geared, so the ladder suggests alliance are more skilled (in general, both sides have bad and good players) than horde.
PvP ladder is pretty good representation of which faction is dominant in PVP,that include BGs. Especially when server is 50%/50% overall population but top PVP teams are 95%/5% in favor on 1 faction.

Most "arena heroes" don't step into BGs and vice versa.
You don't know that.Just as you don't know the average GS enemy faction have in BG,because you cant see their Gear. You pull some random numbers out of your *** and say " look this is what is happening".
Of course I know. Check all the teams, most of the players have fewer than 5k HKs (except the top teams that got there by playing the first days).
Current r1 in 2s paladin have hundreds of BGs done and 50k+ HK.
Sure some of high level teams are not doing BGs,but some are.You know who don't have almost any high rank teams that does BGs?The Horde.
Think about it that way. What is more likely happening:
1.Popular opinion is alliance are OP because of EMFH,so majority of PVP players roll alliance.
2.In past 10 years,on any WOTLK server, horde was always undergeared, and they never ever catch up with their gear to alliance.

Sometimes I go outside to take some fresh air, then I go buy my precious newspaper for some reading,
and I see the date - 14 August 2018...
Then I turn my PC on and come here visit forums...
My first reaction - I wanna freaking shoot myself...
PS - I play horde
Because arena and BGs are the same...
But the majority is not realy good. Rerolling for an advantage does not make a player good. Always seeking a way to get an advantage and avoiding real competition, does not make someone good. Sure having a lot more pvp player equals having a few more realy good player, but a few more good player is not the reason for a 1 out of 10 win rating for horde.
So i am and all people around me are the minority than. I play with a group of horde only people and not a single one of them would play seriously alliance regardless of any racial.
That only means that the chance to have best of the best on alliance side is bigger, but nothing more. But we can start counting if you want, how many people here playing alliance that were able to get gladiator every season from retail tbc to the end of wotlk? Horde got 5 of them, as far is i know.
It just shows how big the impact of Smourn and donation option is. 2vs2 ladder is just a smourn show. EMFH makes BiS gear even stronger and many here choose the overall easy playstyle instead the best one. Smourn classes are not the most OP classes in wotlk but with the endless time of a pserver it is the easiest way to get to pwn in BGs.
Would alliance dominate like this if there would be no donation option? No: http://armory.warmane.com/ladder/2v2/Lordaeron
You realy think that this 2k gs horde join BG to farm pvp and finally do BGs with BiS gear? That would explain a lot.
I don't understand what this sentence mean.
There's just more Alliance BiS premades because of human racial. Grind the gear and beat them in arena later, but even that isn't balanced.
When you have heroic gear available any pvp is going to be unbalanced. There's a reason most PVP specific servers have gear caps.

Last night I was watching a low-gear horde warlock stream solo queue battlegrounds on Icecrown. Horde won almost all of his bgs over a period of a few hours.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297409654
So the notion that ally dominates solo queue horde all the time is obviously false.
