Ok, ingoring the fact that Blood doesnt reign supreme on LK cos we are overgearing it but Unholy dies anyway with same gear, can u please explain to me what can Unholy talent tree provide that u dont have or that is better than the talent build i linked in the guide or in previous comment? Exept the AMS/AMZ which wont save u in any fight.
Sure, Frost and Unholy will take less DMG but Blood will get back to full HP faster and will be able to survive more presure for longer period of time duo to cooldowns and talents.
U clearly didnt tank Halion recently.
Edit:
I really dont see how can u tank outside as Unholy better with both Boss and Inferno raping ur Bone Shield (i wont even talk about twilight precision aka -20% dodge chance that boss has).
And if u want tank for adds, u should take prot paladin, not cos of the aggro, cos of Dsac and Sac that can be usefull on the main tank. And No, u should have Unholy DK DPS raping the adds so u dont need Ebon Plaguebringer.
Edit:
And please link me each one of the build/spec u consider better than Blood - the ones i linked in the guide and previous comment (link ur own Blood aswell if u can) when it comes to Frost and Unholy tank, with the name of the encounter u consider them to be better. I really want to see some usefull information and comparison and stop this: i feel like this spec is better, they said its better on retail back in the days, and so on...
I feel like im repeating myself over and over again.
I also dont feel like i got any info from the other side exept some information how things worked on retail and how u feel about other specs. Link me some solid facts and arguments pls so i can actualy see what u see (if there is anything to be seen). If u cant, stop talking about domething that wont work nor help anyone.
I really cant see any Unholy Build better for boss tanking than this: http://wotlk.openwow.com/talent#j0Eo...ZMxGGz0bxfuz0k
Ofc with rotating talents from Virulence to Outbreak and Nerves, Black Ice, Two Handed Specialisation, Mark of Blood depending on personal preferences and weapons/hit rating from gear.
I personaly dont see this as a superior spec to Blood DK but if u do...
Overall u should have more than enough information in each one of them in order to get a good start as a fresh DK which was the whole point of these guides.
Make sure u read the guides (all 3 of them), read ur spells, read ur talents. If u have any questions READ it again.
And if u still have questions, ask them in comment section below so i can answer them and add those answers in the guide i guess...
U can see that i picked both Two Handed Specialisation and Nerves of Cold Steel in the 2nd build. Dont do that.
The idea was to show u which talents u can lose in case u want more hit while using 1handed weapons, or in case u are using a Two Handed weapon.
Best talents to lose in order to get to ur hit cap, or to get more aggro with Two Handed weapon are Black Ice and Bloody Strikes.
U can ofcourse switch some other talents and make ur own unique build just make sure u stop specing in Blood tree once u reached and gained 3/3 Will of the Necropolis.
I will update all the links tomorow, hopefully, if i find the time.
Best of Luck.
Well, it all depends which 3 targets u are tanking.
If u want to tank Dungeons, a lot of them, i would suggest going for "Dungeon Hero" spec which maximises the DMG of DnD.
But the main strategy is to have DnD on the pull for every pack of mobs. Lets say u have 3 of them and lets call them "a", "b", "c".
U Death and Decay on top of all 3, u Icy Touch "a", u Plague Strike "b", u should use Rune Strike on "c" if u have it and eather cast Blood Strike on it, or Blood Boil for some extra threat on all 3, but u should def target the "c" and focus ur auto attacks on it, wait for Rune Strike, or be ready to use Dark Command.
After that u should use IT on the target that u have least amount of threat on, PS on the one u have solid threat on, and BS or BB depending on if u want to have some minor AoE or single target threat. When u have DnD off CD pop it again. If u have Death Rune Mastery and Reaping u should always try to cast Death Strike / Blood Strike / Pestilence when that pack is about to die so u can have as much Death Runes as posible for the next one for more ITs after u pop DnD.
If u want to tank Bosses or Raids and u need to tank more than 2 targets constantly, u could use something like: http://talentcalc.deffender.eu/death...00000000000000
and use last talent point on Heart Strike or Corpse Explotion depending on how many targets and what kind of mobs/encounters u are tanking.
It all comes to when they are going to fix Death and Decay threat multiplier. Untill than u can hope for the best and for Hunters/Rogues to MD/ToT u while kindly asking ur DPS to not go full ****** mode and not overagro. :D
Thanks, im glad i could help... Altho, guide is still a pain in the ars to read.
I will try to finish unholy DK guide tonight and focus on this one more from now on.
Both specs are good for newbie DKs, it all depends on how confident u are in ur survival and/or aggro skills. If u are confident in both, take what u need depending on the places u are going to tank (dungeons, guild raids, soloing stuff, so on...)
If u are not using Shadowmourne for PvP or PvE, u can use it for tanking yes.
I would personaly do it if i had the 2nd one for diferent gems and enchant. :D
