On long lived boss fights yes, i.e. the ones that would allow for the full duration of the DoT.

Yup! Always use on ICC bosses. I've had 50k crits when lucky (usually using with demonology metamorphosis!)

Interesting because CoD cannot crit (at least in wotlk). Never. However you still should use CoD instead of CoA because it's nice damage, you don't have to refresh it so often as CoA which means u have bonus global cooldowns for casting shadowbolts.

Thread is PvE :P And without Eradication, CoEx, or Death's Embrace, the spec won't fair very well in PvP.
