cata - elemental shaman off hand question

im wondering, how is a shield is really beneficial to a shaman?

i do pvp but a shield only had a 5% block pretty low, im thinking of just getting an off hand for better stats.

Having 8k+ more armor is actually a big difference.

Try without it, yet most probably then melees will teach your character how to vanish.
