First of all

Statistics Priority

Stat Priority: Intellect > Hit (5100 Hit Rating) > Haste Softcap (9778) > Mastery Rating > Haste Hardcap > Crit

Talents and Glyphs

Talents:

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/tool/tal...lator#V!010100

Tier 1: Dark Regeneration
restores some of your life and increases healing received for 12 seconds. It also restores some of your pet's life. It has a 2-minute cooldown.

Alternative: Tier 1: Soul Leech
Good for End Game MoP (Siege of Orgrimmar) because of the encounters.

Tier 2: Mortal Coil
is both a crowd control and a survival ability. It causes the target to run in fear for 3 seconds and restores 15% of your maximum health. It has a 45-second cooldown.

Tier 3: Soul Link
causes 20% of the damage you take to be transfered to your demon and causes 3% of the damage you do to be healed back to you and your demon. This ability is only active when you have a demon active. Fall damage is not transfered to your demon. If you choose Grimoire of Sacrifice Icon Grimoire of Sacrifice as your Tier 5 talent, then Soul Link passively increases your maximum health by 20%.

Tier 4: Burning Rush
is an ability that you can toggle on and off without restriction. While it is active, your movement speed is increased by 50% but you lose 4% of your maximum health every second. During Burning Rush, movement-impairing effects cannot reduce your movement speed below 100% (your regular running speed).

Tier 5: Glimoire of Supremacy
replaces your minions with more powerful demons that deal 20% more damage.

HC Gear? Pick Glimoire of Sacrifice, because it
sacrifices your demon to increase single-target spell damage by 15% to 25% (depending on the specialisation) and to regenerate 2% of maximum health every 5 seconds. Resummoning a demon cancels the effect. If you have chosen Soul Link Icon Soul Link as your Tier 3 talent, you will be passively granted +20% maximum health when you sacrifice your demon. Finally, you gain one of your demon's abilities, which you should choose based on the boss you are fighting:

Imp: Singe Magic Icon Singe Magic (useful for removing 1 stack of most debuffs);
Felhunter: Spell Lock Icon Spell Lock (useful on fights where interrupts are required);
Voidwalker: Shadow Bulwark Icon Shadow Bulwark (default choice);
Succubus: Whiplash Icon Whiplash (can be helpful on fights with adds).

Tier 6: Archimondes Darkness
grants you two charges of your Dark Soul spell. This means that you can use Dark Soul one more time over the course of a fight, and that you have more liberty regarding its timing.
Tier 6 Alternative: Kil'jaedens Cunning
Siege of Orgrimmar requires you much movement (watch Garrosh fight). So since SoO release on normal mode/hc mode this is the better choice.

Glyphs: Not really much choiceability here

My favourites

Glyph of Unstable Affliction
reduces the cast time of Unstable Affliction Icon Unstable Affliction by 25%.

Glyph of Eternal Resolve
transforms Unending Resolve Icon Unending Resolve into a passive ability that reduces damage taken by 10%. This is extremely potent when used on fights where you constantly take damage (against Thok for example).

Glyph of Soulstone
causes your Soulstone Icon Soulstone target to return to life with full health.

Optional, but very useful
Glyph of Siphon Life
causes to heal you instantly, can be replaced with Glpyh of Soulstone if your raid is really good and doesnt need a Soulstone (better choice for experienced players)

Minor Glyphs

Glyph of Nightmares
grants you the ability to cross water while mounting your Felsteed and Dreadsteed. Doing so will leave a trail of flames, which is a cosmetic effect.

Glyph of Unending Breath
causes targets affected by your Unending Breath to swim 20% faster.

Warlock Pets:

Observers

+ Felhunters are the strongest, for targets on long range Imp is a better choice.

Rotation, Cooldowns, and Abilities

Rotation (from top to bottom) (Single Target)

1. Apply Agony and keep it up.
2. Apply Corruption and keep it up.
3. Apply Unstable Affliction and keep it up.
4. Cast Haunt when:
one of the following is true
Haunt's debuff is not applied on the target, or has less than 2 seconds remaining;
you will not have to refresh any of your DoTs for the next 8 seconds;
you will not need to use Life Tap in the next 8 seconds;
and one of the following is also true
your DoTs are buffed with trinket procs;
Dark Soul: Misery is up;
you have four Soul Shards.
5. Cast Malefic Grasp as a filler.

When the enemy is below 20% health, Drain Soul replaces Malefic Grasp in the rotation. Doing so will grant you more Soul Shards than you can possibly spend. This means that, when the enemy is below 20% health, you should always refresh your DoTs by using Soulburn and Soul Swap (this causes Soul Swap to apply all your DoTs on the target).

At the pull, apply your DoTs by using Soulburn and Soul Swap twice (to apply them with the maximum duration).

Remember to apply and maintain Curse of the Elements if no one else in your raid/party can provide the same debuff.

Pandemic and DoTs play a major role in your performance as an Affliction Warlock.

(further descriptions later)

Rotation (from top to bottom) (Multiple Targets)

Against 2 enemies, use your normal rotation on one of them and keep your DoTs up on the other.

Against 3 or 4 enemies, keep your DoTs up and cast Malefic Grasp or Drain Soul (if target is below 20%) the rest of the time.

Against 5 or more enemies, you will need to start using Soulburn with Seed of Corruption. While Seed of Corruption is ticking, you should maintain your DoTs on as many targets as possible.

To apply your DoTs, use Soulburn +Soul Swap twice on one target (this will apply the DoTs at their maximum duration). After that, use Soul Swap Exhale to copy those DoTs over to the other targets and then to keep the DoTs up.

(further descriptions later)

Cooldown abilities

Dark Soul: Misery is your main DPS cooldown. It increases your spell haste by 30% for 20 seconds. Use it on cooldown. When there is less than 30 seconds remaining on Dark Soul's cooldown, start saving Soul Shards to use them during Dark Soul (for Haunt and Soulburn+Soul Swap).

Summon Doomguard and Summon Infernal share a cooldown. As such, you will have to decide which of the two you will use. These two abilities are on a 10-minute cooldown, so you will realistically only use them once per fight. Summon Doomguard is better when fighting 3 enemies or less, while Summon Infernal is better when fighting 4 enemies or more.

If you choose Grimoire of Supremacy , as a Tier 5 talent, then Summon Doomguard becomes Summon Terrorguard and Summon Infernal becomes Summon Abyssal.

In addition, a number of defensive cooldowns are available to you to compensate for your frequent use of Life Tap, which is mandatory for mana management.
