Any PvE multiboxers out there?

VoA25 - 2/4 - Stone/Frost down - using 15 PuGs and my 10 chars (never attempted Fire/Storm).
Uld10 - 3/14 - Ignis, XT (Hard Mode) & Kologarn. May attempt more another time.
Ony10 - 1/1.

ToC10 Normal - 5/5

pve back in those xpacs as a multiboxer was pretty hard bc there are alot of aoe and they do alot of dmg. pve started to be easier in cata then come mop it was a walk in the park.

Before the BIG wipe i tried ICC25 normal with 2 human tanks and a human healer + my 20 shamans and 3 druids.

We only did a couple trys on marrowgar but got him to 20% or so.

Like you said, the AoE damage hurts quite bad in wotlk.

Maybe i should give it a try again. :)

How did you manage the healing and what was your gear like?

I am interested in this as well. I have been doing OS10 and some Naxx with 10 characters. Also been teaming with Kalvindeane01 to do some 25 man stuff. My son is learning to 5 box and I'm curious about what we can accomplish together. Any strats or tips would be fantastic.

Little progress update for any who may be interested.

Beat faction champions in ToC10 Heroic today ^_^

The Twin Val'kyr have me beat right now. I need to get a second healer in order to stand a chance in heroic mode as my Discipline Priest can't keep everybody topped up from the AoE damage.

I got my first team of 5 geared up and ready and my second team of 5 about 2 or 3 weeks away from being ready (lvl 50)

I plan on trying to solo all the 10 man raid content.

There is some good information on the dual-boxing website. 2 guys, who on retail made their way into icc10 and share tips about what they did or what worked etc. there used to be videos as well but they seem to be gone now.

Team composition and a ton of bound keys seems to be the most important thing for most icc encounters, alot of encounter specific macros.

My 1st team consists of 1 prot pally, 1 fury warr, 1 lock, 1 ele shammy, 1 resto shammy

my 2nd team will be 1 prot pally, 1 priest (holy or disc not sure yet), 1 mage, 1 rogue and 1 boomkin.

I had a hunter in place of the rogue but found the hunter too annoying with shooting range etc. If the rogue doesn't work out I will probably replace him with a DK

Getting all raid buffs is a pretty big deal to me

i've thought about multiboxing..here's my dilemma..doing a dungeon or bg with others seems more challenging..multi-boxing could be cool if a person is an introvert and wants to be alone in the game...however MBxing just to farm say honor seems unfair very much like using full heirloom sets in bracketed BG's..unfair advantage, akin to a 90 ganking a 30 and camping them..after that the individual would prolly stop playing wow as its pointless to rezz and die over and over..multi box pvp i'd say no way...pve yes.

so thats why im not doing the multiboxing

Multiboxing PvE is significantly more challenging than playing a single character and doing it with friends. PvP is also more challenging multiboxing if playing a small number of characters. I.e. 3v3 when fighting a team of three real players. The real players should win every time assuming similar gear and playing skills.

10+ boxing in BGs is very OP though. Most people on Ragnaros don't seem to know how multiboxing works and don't know how to beat a multiboxer.

Another progress update:

Current set up is 1x Prot Pally, 1x Disc Priest, 6x Shadow Priest, 1x Balance Druid, 1x Elemental Shaman.

ToC10 Normal is on farm. ToC10 Heroic I can only beat the first 3 bosses but wipes are rare on those three.

ICC 10 Normal attempted tonight:
Marrowgar - went down on first attempt. Wasn't even fully buffed and he was trivial.
Lady - wiped a few times trying out different positioning. Once I found a position I liked I got her down easily without any deaths.
Gunship - not attempted it yet. I feel for this one I may have to create some macros specifically for the fight as it's a very difficult fight to solo tank and solo heal.

How are your characters and progression coming along invoker125?

Edit: Gunship was too hard for me. Made three attempts and they didn't get very far. Keeping an eye on both cannons and jumping properly, avoiding rockets and the like was a bit much.

Cata AOE and fires are way more punishing than WOTLK was, they upped the difficulty of PVE in Cata.

You guys are on WotLK it sounds like?

I'm trying to figure out what the best expac to go is.
I still have 100+ coins on each account for another week so have to make decision soon.

I was in wotlk before. Ideally I'd go to MOP but the fact that we cant do BGs anymore is really offputting. So perhaps Cata, but it seems theres much less playerbase there.

Is there a multiboxing guild in WotLK?
How big is the multiboxing playerbase?
