Hello, I'm looking for experienced hunters who have a little
bit of time to spare. I know this might sound ridiculous or
absurb, but the reason I am looking for someone experienced
is not because I need tips and advices, neither it is to have
an arena partner.

What I'm want is someone that would be able to test a strategy;
Peharps the best strategy against rogues. The reason I can't
test it myself is because I do not have the internet connection
currently to do so.

Since I lost connection, I begun thinking; Much more than before.
Even though I had near perfect win/loss ratio against rogues, I
started analysing my strategy; noticing every flaws or things that
could be improved. The strategy is somehow complicated and is the
reason why I need someone experienced.

------------------------------------------------------------

So here it is:

The first thing I want to say, don't start with camouflage.
It's good idea to start with camouflage, but I'd want the
rogue to have the opener since in battlegrounds a rogue might
surprise you.

1)Most rogues will start by sapping you. Some smart rogues might
sap your pet right before they stun you. The counter to this is
that sap causes a global cooldown, and cheap shot is a melee attack.
This means that you have the time to use flare right below your feet,
and amper their stealth.

2)I've noticed three distincts moments where Deterrence MUST be used

A;The first moment;
You are stunned and the rogue is right on top of you. His shadow dance
is active, and you cannot stop it by using Bad Manner, because the rogue
used Cloak of Shadows or he trinketed bad manner instantly or bad manner
is simply on cooldown. To counter this, you would have to use your medaillon
of the horde/alliance(trinket) and use Deterrence(followed by roar of sacrifice
and pet swap of course).

B;The second moment:
Your disengage ability is on cooldown, and the rogue used both disarm and cloak
of shadows at the same time so you cannot scatter shot and your traps have no
effect on the rogue

C;The third moment:
disengage is on cooldown, the rogue used his trinket on either scatter shot or
freezing trap, and then prevent you from using the other one by disarm or cloak
of shadows

3) There is also three possible options when you are stunned

A;The first option:
the rogue has shadow dance up. Try to use bad manner whenever
this is the case. if you can't for some reasons that I won't
repeat, look at what I said in 2.A

B;The second option:
If Cloak of shadows is not active and bad manner is not on cooldown,
use bad manner. If the rogue trinket it(And he doesn't have shadow dance!),
do nothing.

C;The third option:
In every other cases, use roar of sacrifice

4)The decision between disengage, freezing trap and scatter shot to get
outside the rogue range

I based my choices on the best outcomes possible.
Thus, it might not always be possible to use the skills in the
situations they are presented here, but if you can, do it.

Scatter shot:
Try to use Scatter Shot right after a shadowstep if possible.
Scatter shot will allow you to land a snake trap with the trap
launcher, and use flare on them(try placing the flare so the rogue is inside
its radius, and it is closer to you, so if they run toward you, they will stay
in the flare longer). With the entrapment talent, they will be stuck inside the
flare for 4 seconds, and it will take them more time to get outside without shadowstep.

Disengage:
Try to keep disengage as your next move after Scatter shot. Why?
Because if you follow what I said in the scatter shot part, you will have used snake trap.
Unfortunately, snake trap has one major disavantage: It put low damage dots on the ennemy.
For this reason, you can't use freezing trap since it breaks on every damage.
IF YOU HAVE PIERCING SHOT TALENT(dot whenever chimera shot crits), THEN REMOVE IT FOR YOUR DUELS.

Freezing Trap:
In every other cases, use freezing trap. This can be a good moment to swap your pet. Also,
remember to use Feign death right before you use the trap. Normally, a trap activates after
2 seconds when you place it in combat. But when you do it outside of combat, the activation
time is 1 second. So it takes 1 less second for the trap to freeze the rogue(and 1 second is
a lot). You can also macro it so your pet uses Growl on the ennemy when you feign death, by
doing that, your opponent will target your monkey instead of you, and they will have to reselect
you to attack.(but it must be macroed well! The order of spells matters!)

#####

Use master's call whenever you think you're in danger(the rogue can slow you by 70%, which is 20%
more than concussive shot so he can catch you by walking)

Flare is also useful when the rogue vanish. If possible, use the flare on top of you and then use
a freezing trap and proceed to swap your pet.

I should not have to discuss about the other things you must do, like to use concussive shot, when
to burst.. Since that is basic knowledge
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know this can be complicated to do, but this is peharps the best strategy against rogues, and that
is why I want you to test it, since I can't(like I said, it's because of my internet)!

Of course you might say "hey, but rogues are easy to beat!Hunters counter them!", but this is not
completely true. A small percentage(Maybe even less than 1%) of the rogues are very good and can
leave you off with very little health at the end of the duel.

Post how well you performed against rogues with these, and if you did bad, explain how the strategy is
lacking(Unless the reason is that you incorrectly did it)

If you think you could make up a better strategy, then answer these questions:
1)Which order should I use disengage/scatter shot/freezing trap, and why?
2)What should I use bad manner/roar of sacrifice/trinket when stunned?why?
3)When is the optimal time to use deterrence?
4)Should I use snake trap?
5)How do I counter disarm and cloak of shadows?
6)When should I use flare?

Please note, I did not make this thread to look smart/good. I created it
because I am intrigued about the result of the strategy.

Thanks to anyone willing to take the time to try out these tips!
