Not sure if serious, but on AT a mob would give you full s11 elite gear appropriate for any spec you want, as long as you had VIP. Not available now.

Partially you are correct. When you first log onto AT, template gives you Free s11 elite gear for 7 days. During the merge, when you merge your character from AT to warmane, the template NPC no longer exists and the 7 day script doesn't exist no more, therefore you keep the gear. And during meltdown, a lot of warsong players went onto AT Cata and retrieve free cata gear.
