    LF a thread (MB)

    So i'm having this issue with my toons okay, but i remember this thread from last year that helped solve the problem i'm having, but i can't find the thread anymore, think you guys could help me out here?

    So what i'm wanting to do is have my slave stop following me sometimes and just stand in one spot til i want her to follow me again. So i've gotten it down to where i can get her to stop and follow me on command, but I'm having a targeting issue.

    Now I know I can hit "G" IWT and she'll face the way I want her to, but I know there's certain items in the game that can be marco'd into our spells that when spammed will face my slave the way of the enemy.

    Does anyone remember this thread? For the life of me I can't find it and I would greatly appreciate it if someone could link it for me.

    Thank you very much and I appreciate any advice you can give me.

    Does anyone have an idea what i'm talking about here?

    It's some in game items that can be found/bought/rewarded from some quest that when you click on it, you'll automatically face the direction of your target, or the direct that your leaders target is facing.

    I just need the list of those items so I can fix this issue i'm having.

    Sages lightning rod is the best one.

    another thing you can do is use this HKN macro:
    Code:
    //+
    //-----------------------------------------------------------
    // -- This function allows casters to "face target" --
    // NumpadMinus = Enable CTM + IWT + Disable CTM
    // Enable CTM bound ingame (Jamba) to DELETE
    // Disable CTM bound ingame (Jamba) to END (tagged as "caster")
    //*-----------------------------------------------------------
    <Command FaceTargetDown>
    	<Key Delete> //enable CTM
    	<Keydown down>
    	<Key F> // IWT
    <Command FaceTargetUp>
    	<Key End> //disable CTM (if caster - tag it in jamba)
    	<Keyup down>
    	<Key down>
    //*-----------------------------------------------------------
    <Hotkey ScrollLockOn NumpadMinus> // caster-face-target
    <If ActiveWinIs WoW1>
    	<SendLabel w2,w3,w4,w5>
    	<FaceTargetDown>
    <Else If ActiveWinIs WoW2>
    	<SendLabel w1,w3,w4,w5>
    	<FaceTargetDown>
    <Else If ActiveWinIs WoW3>
    	<SendLabel w1,w2,w4,w5>
    	<FaceTargetDown>
    <Else If ActiveWinIs WoW4>
    	<SendLabel w1,w2,w3,w5>
    	<FaceTargetDown>
    <Else If ActiveWinIs WoW5>
    	<SendLabel w1,w2,w3,w4>
    	<FaceTargetDown>
    <EndIf>
    <HotkeyUp ScrollLockOn NumpadMinus>
    <If ActiveWinIs WoW1>
    	<SendLabel w2,w3,w4,w5>
    	<FaceTargetUp>
    <Else If ActiveWinIs WoW2>
    	<SendLabel w1,w3,w4,w5>
    	<FaceTargetUp>
    <Else If ActiveWinIs WoW3>
    	<SendLabel w1,w2,w4,w5>
    	<FaceTargetUp>
    <Else If ActiveWinIs WoW4>
    	<SendLabel w1,w2,w3,w5>
    	<FaceTargetUp>
    <Else If ActiveWinIs WoW5>
    	<SendLabel w1,w2,w3,w4>
    	<FaceTargetUp>
    <EndIf>
    //+
    //+
    (the "//+" are just syntax things i added to my editor. ignore them)

    then you need to simply add 2 simple macros in-game either with Jamba or normal macros:
    "CTMEnable" >>
    Code:
    /console autointeract 1
    and "CTMDisable" >>
    Code:
    /console autointeract 0
    (you can call them whatever you want of course)
    Bind CTMEnable to a hotkey (i use "End")
    Bind CTMDisable to a hotkey (i use "Delete")

    HOW TO USE???
    I bind this macro to my numpad minus "-" key, so i can hold it down while using mouse.
    All you have to do is hold down the key for a few seconds to get your toons to IWT your target WHILE moving backwards.
    It forces your toons to enable CTM (click-to-move), IWT on the target, and backpedals them.

    This also helps allot in AOE situations because it will make all your toons spread backwards from the target in a circle.

    This is how I manage facing target especially for casters.

    Using CTM+IWT is also a nice method to face the target. U can also set up something similiar like Mythal did in a ISboxer mapped key if ISboxer is the software that u are using....
    The only problem is that the characters are not only facing the target but also move to the target and therefore arent casting until u cancle the movement. Because of that i prefer "sages lightning rod" over IWT+CTM.

    P.S. If u are alliance u can purchase the "sages lightning rod" quest item by using faction change, accept the quest and change back to alliance.

    how does that thing work?
    you just accept a quest, and keep it forever in inventory?
    then just /use it before every line-of-sight spell?

    that is for sure pretty neat.
    it works for friendly and enemy targets too?

    Yeah, thats exactly how it works.
    U can only use it when not casting though. For example, u can use it before u cast lightning bolt but u cant use it during the 2 second cast. So casting and facing at the same time doesnt work which is the only downside...

    "Sage's Lightning Rod" has with 45 yards the highest range which makes it the best of these quest items but it works only on enemys targets. There are other quest items thats work also on friendly targets like "Gor'drek's Ointment" but it has only 20 yards range.

    A macro like:
    /use Sage's Lightning Rod
    /use Gor'drek's Ointment
    /cast lightning bolt
    might work as well to face friendly untis and enemys on over 20 yards range.
