We're considering on how to make it properly progressive. Some people even suggested progressive level cap after launch. Lordaeron will not be perfect at launch but we don't want to launch it until we know that it is better than our existing Wrath of the Lich King realm are and by far better than anywhere else. The capacity for flexible testing and making changes to Lordaeron [ALPHA] that we have allows us to prepare to implement Lordaeron's eventual improvements to other realms without making any "live tests" on current ones.
WHy not release the content in bits, your T8 raids first, then maybe a few months put out T9, then your T10 and finally release Halion a few months after.
That gives everyone a more slow progression, while gaining gear and it doesn't feel so farmy and the need to push onto the next tier asap.

This ^
Imo this is a risky idea, there seriously needs to be A LOT of fixes to make this compete able with other Wrath Server's with x1 Realms. But if that happens many many player's might make the move to a more populated community with the same content. But then you may have the one's that don't want to lose all the time and effort spent on other realms/servers, maybe a few months after release allow transfer's from other server's and give them like a level 70 with limited gold and gear to get them started?
Hey there,
I havent played here for some time. Last time I was here there was lordaeron realm. As far as I know Lordaeron characters are gone but I can still see one or 2 of them being put into other realms. Whats with that? Like i had 5-6 characters on Lordaeron 2 are now in other realms but what about the rest? gone 4ever?
I don't see that ever happening and you can count on me being very vocal against anything similar.
Fair enough, just a suggestion though to prompt new thoughts ^.^ But you will have to offer something to persuade players from similar server's to decide and up and leave their current toons. Unless this gets made into a progressive realm and other players decide to come here on the side /shrug
Can somebody answer my question please so I know which server has my toons, if they are not deleted that is?

By the very nature of the project, it should be obvious it's about making a vision come true. As Kaer said, getting a population in the hundreds like our Tournament ones have now would be considered satisfactory. Going by that, my opinion is that attracting players from other places won't be a focus, especially if that would take "bribing" with incentives. It would make more sense to give incentives to our own players before that, and that already goes against the essence of what this will be about.

I will start by introducing myself, many of you know me as Peregrine (both in game and forums).
I have been member since 2010,which is 5 years almost now.I have been thru many aspects of Molten /Warmane both good and bad.
To start off with Lordaeron which is the topic il divide it into 2 sections, the old and new Lordaeron.
The Old Lordaeron:
Back then if i recall correctly in may,or june 2011 Lordaeron was launched. There was pretty big hype back then, considering it was first x1 realm and to my utmost surprise before donations were opened for it realm for first time had amasing overque of 1200-1500 back then pretty much setting all other realms into fire.
You might ask yourself what draws people to play on x1?
To say it shorty, the balance.Balance and hardiness to level,to really "grind" for things that make x1 realm worth playing.
To put it in long:
It is beacuse back then there was no transfers to Lordaeorn, you really had to grind it up to 80.There wasnt instant level ups, there wasnt donor gear. You really had to work it off.And when people saw some of meta achievements like Insane ,they would understand the pain behind it.Not only that ,but generally people who played on former Lordaeron on start had a team up play, there was so many friends connecting back then.
But it crumbled, crumbled behind poor thought thru transfers, donations (which are necessity) and overall poor managent, good scripts went haywire, lich king fight hasnt gone thru changes (at least the very important ones)thru years. All those things affected Lordaeron badly, many people just went to Dw beacuse lets face it,if there isnt a a value in x1,what is the true point of playing on one?None right?Exactly.
The New Lordaeron:
I am pretty conviced that is STaff really puts a big orange letters with definite meaning:
POINT LOCKED,TRANSFERS LOCKED,DONATIONS UP TO (LETS FACE IT,258 ILEVEL)
That is the t rue start of making a Lordaeron viable for long term gameplay.Lets not forget the fact that if you really want teverybody to hurl in to such server,do not hide behind "shadowmourne " exploit, that quest ID has been fixed for years (using any form of quest id change using 3rd party program).
Fix Seasonal events its a must, many people look forward to "O what long strange trip has it been" and it takes a year to complete.
Lich king must be fixed to perfection, not to mention Ulduar which up to date has been one of best raids(and even the hardest one(the hardmodes) people knew) to play.
It is also the achivemenvets you must fix, they are very VERY important structural part of game for players who stick around. If they dont work,eh....Again you wont keep players for long then ,or at least not to extent you would like.
With that being said,i know if you do it like that you wont have any problems getting even 2x or more x1 exp and everything else Wotlk realms populated to max,ESPECIALLY IF YOU FINALLY fix clustered load balancing for arenas (5VS5??? 3VS3=??????=).
And there has to be assurance there wont be fiasco ,like with previous matter.Do those steps, and i can pretty much be assured you will gather all people and more.
But as always quality over quantity...
Truly devoted player to Molten/Warmane since 2010.
Peregrine

The progressive release should have its own dedicate discussion and suggestions indeed. We can create a forum section for Lordaeron with all ideas and Lordaeron specific suggestions such as the one you mentioned.
Will the new Lordaeron not use vote or donation rewards?
Also OP every Expansion is garbage after WOTLK.
Vote shop will be disabled. There will be coin support but with high limitations such as no legendary items, very high coin costs and character's equipped slot item level requirements before an item can be purchased with coins. That will keep items from website rare due to high cost and limitations but still realm pulling its own funding independently.
You're technically on a PTR. Not a live realm. Many things that are in works have not yet been implemented on current Lordaeron [ALPHA]. Once the realm is live all test characters will be wiped.

We're not looking to cap items obtainable with coins as they are available in-game. There will be other limitations as mentioned earlier. Legendary items will not be available for coins and will be only obtainable in-game. Nothing will be available for points. In order to keep specialty and very rareness some very rare mounts and items will be also not be available for coins such as the Reins of the Swift Spectral Tiger and will instead be valuable rewards for certain occasions. There will also be item level requirements in item slots before an item can be acquired with coins thus encouraging doing dungeons and raids after hitting level 80, and being unable to get top items using coins.
Other than abuse of third-party software, one of primary reasons Shadowmourne quest line was disabled because of dupes, as you know it's currently Lich King as a drop. In the last couple of weeks we've gone over some of ideas and workarounds on this subject within the team and how to make it safe from cheats and abuse, so far no solid ideas that have worked. Adding Shadowmourne questline only to have it abused massively (ownedcore elite post or ac-web) spread of any exploit with it will be fast to discredit and discourage everything Lordaeron stands for. It will be us, the staff, then taking the **** for it "wtf didnt fix it properly" and many players who worked their way to obtaining it legitimately will be put off. As long as it's only available as a rare drop from the Lich King we know it's safe from abuse, even though шеэы not very lore friendly. Now that said, we have considered many ideas on this subject lately but none have been confident enough to proceed with and an idea of manually monitoring every character that has embarked on Shadowmourne quest is not a valid solution either. We keep thinking about it.
Icecrown Citadel, Ulduar or Shadowmourne is in our attention irrespectively and apply to Deathwing and Ragnaros as well. Lordaeron is not as much about end-game and Shadowmourne as it is about the leveling experience before you reach end game, which will eventually be improved in all areas and aspects we're capable of improving.
