Bief's GTFO (Guide To Fun Online)

Bief's GTFO: Guide To Fun Online
(How to have fun in WotLK)
    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

There are many non-standard ways to ease boredom in WoW that most people
either don't know or don't bother with. Many "fun" items are available and often
very easy to obtain. I will list them by category, and although I probably won't
remember them all right off the top of my head as I type this in Notepad,
I will add others later as I think of them.

This guide is mostly written for the HORDE faction, since I haven't played alliance
much at all. If you know of some fun items or summoned minions I've missed, or
any interesting quest item "toys", feel free to post them. Be sure to include the name
of the questgiver, the location, name of the quest or item, and any other vital info you
    can think of.

I've intentionally left out a few of my favorite things, of course. ;D
    Now on to the fun!

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
    Sections:
    1. Disguises
    2. Fun Items & Effects
    3. Special Minions & Pets
    4. Special Quest Mounts

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
    Disguises:
Cataclysm disguises can be found at:
    http://wowwiki.wikia.com/Guide_to_changing_appearances

    Pirate or Ninja:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=6661
Savory Deviate Delight (most people know this one) will turn you into a pirate or ninja (at random).
This is an edible item, and the Cooking recipe for it is very rare and randomly drops in Barrens and
Silverpine, including Wailing Caverns and ShadowFang Keep. Raw Deviates may be caught an
oasis in Barrens (any of them will do). There used to be many other things Savory Deviate Delight
could do, but Blizzard changed it.

    Skeleton:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=8529
This one is a must-have for any hardy adventurer worth his salt. If you do the quest chain given by
Marin Noggenfogger in Gadgetzan (The Thirsty Goblin), you will gain access to his goods, which
include only one thing...Noggenfogger Elixir. It's cheap, it's useful, and here's what it does:
It can transform you into a skeleton, allowing underwater breathing (or rather no need to breathe),
or it can shrink you, or it can grant slowfall for 20 seconds. It is not considered a "potion" or "elixir",
so it will not affect your cooldowns of other consumables. The only problem with this stuff is that
you may have to drink several of them to get the desired effect. Many times I've hoped for a slowfall
only to go splat on the ground as a tiny skeleton.

    Red Ogre:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=49704
Carved Ogre Idol (8 Coins in Shop) -- Trinket item.
There is no other way to obtain this item, since it is from the WoW TCG.

    Gordok Ogre:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=18258
This is a disguise that is learnable by Leatherworkers or Tailors. It may be learned from a goblin
within the ogre quarter (northern instance I think) of Dire Maul. On Molten, this quest was broken,
and I do not know if it has been fixed by Warmane. Someone please update this thread if you
happen to know if it works here or not.
The Gordok Ogre Suit itself may be purchased for 2 vote points in the Shop, and lasts 10 minutes.

    Fish:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=19979
If you are the lucky winner of the STV fishing tournament on Sunday, you can choose from
one of two rewards. The first is a fishing pole (inferior in many ways to the Kalu'ak pole, but
has the best +fishing skill bonus of any pole), and the other reward is a trinket called
Hook of the Master Angler. This trinket turns you into a fish and grants water breathing.
The effect lasts until cancelled by an action or attack.

    Skettis Arakkoa:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=32782
A Time-Lost Figurine may be purchased in Shop for 10 vote points. This will transform you
into a Skettis Arakkoa for (I think) 10 minutes and has (I think) 30 minute cooldown.
If the quest "Terokk's Downfall" is working, it's possible to get this as a drop from him.
Last I checked, that quest was bugged and/or intentionally broken after I used Terokk
for farming many Mongoose mats on Molten (say that 5 times fast!)
It may also be found as a drop within Sethekk and other Auchindoun dungeons.
There is also A Shabby Disguise which will transform you into an Arakkoa as well, but
with some minor differences from the trinket. It can only be used in Terokkar forest.

    Blackwhelp:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=31337
A cool orb may be purchased cheaply in Blade's Edge from a vendor within the cave
at Blackwing Coven. In order to become "friendly" and be able to purchase from this
vendor, you must collect 5 costume scraps from the wyrmcult npcs outside the cave.
Once you do this, you use the costume scraps, which will produce a nice draeni costume.
This draeni costume only works in the Blackwing Coven area, and it's sole purpose here
is to get you into the cave to the vendor. It can /dance and /silly and do other emotes,
but if you mount you will lose it. Once you have this draeni costume, run into the cave,
turn LEFT, and go straight to the dead end where you will see a Wyrmcult Provisioner.
Look for Orb of the Blackwhelp, and you're good to go.
It is unique, and only has 3 charges, but you can return and buy another at any time.

    Wyrmcult Draeni:
    See Blackwhelp above. ---^

    Crab:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=35237
If you've been paying attention to the Midsummer Fire Festival, then you've seen the
quest An Innocent Disguise, which gives you Orb of the Crawler.
I never complete this quest, I always keep the item. Why?
Even though it only works in Zoram Strand, you can attack in this form, and
moving sideways (strafing) is uber fast. On Molten, you could mount in this form, but
Warmane has patched it, I suppose. It's still a fun item.

    Worg:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=33618
In Howling Fjord, there's a really cool item called Worg Disguise. In order to get it,
you must go thru a long chain of quests. It all starts at Camp Winterhoof, so once
you get all the quests done there, (except maybe the Rune of Command quest as I will
show later - gives a cool giant minion for 5 min), you will at some point get a quest
from the Chief. This quest will send you to Steelgate to find Sage Hawkwind.
I am only mentioning the Horde side, since I only play Horde, but the ally version
is similar, and will end up leading you to Steelgate, to speak with ...moon something,
I can't recall her name. But I digress....
The Worg Disguise has a 1 sec cast time, and allows you to move as fast as a land mount.
It works indoors, and anywhere in Howling Fjord. My tests have confirmed it does not
work in UK, which is a dirty shame.

    Giant Wolf:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/?search=rit...f+the+new+moon
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=45851
Rituals of the New Moon is an Off-hand item which allows you to transform into a Giant Wolf.
There are a few colors to choose from, but if you're a druid, it doesn't matter if you follow this
simple tip: Shapeshift to change the color of your wolf costume. Now /dance to victory!
This item can be purchased in the Shop for vote points, but can also be made by a mid-level
Scribe. Ask someone with Inscription profession to make you one before you go spending
your points. The mats are fairly easy on the budget. With some Ethereal Oil, you can look
like a Ghost Wolf (but much bigger).

    Blood Elf:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=35275
You can purchase Orb of the Sin'Dorei in the Shop for vp.
It will transform you into a Blood Elf for 10 minutes.
This may work for both factions, but I haven't tested it on alliance.

    Darkspear Troll:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=54653
You can purchase Darkspear Pride in the Shop for vp.
It will transform you into a Darkspear Troll for 10 minutes.
This may work for both factions, but I haven't tested it on alliance.

    Space Gnome:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=54651
You can purchase Gnomeregan Pride in the Shop for vp.
It will transform you into a Space Gnome for 10 minutes.
This DOES work for both factions.
Using the quest item from the quest "Kickin' Nass and Takin' Manes"
(in Zul'Drak at Ebon Watch) while in this form will cause you to do
    a backflip!

    Frog:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=33993
You can purchase Mojo in the Shop for vp, or you can obtain one in
Zul'Gurub by using an Amani Hex Stick on a Frog. More often than not
the frog will transform into a humanoid. Eventually you will get Mojo, so
    don't give up!
Mojo is a companion pet, and a very special one! If you do a /kiss emote
at her, she will transform you into a frog! With the use of many other shrinking
effects, this can be quite small indeed. I will list shrink effects later on, don't worry.
For druids, kissing mojo while in bird form will allow you to fly as a frog.

    Frenzyheart Furbolg:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=44719
By getting exalted with Frenzyheart tribe in Shalozar Basin (which is fairly easy, but remember
your rep will go from oracles to frenzyheart and back as you quest, and ultimately you
will end up exalted with one, and hated by the other), you may purchase from the Frenzyheart
Quartermaster a Disgusting Jar. After waiting 7 days, it will "open", containing potions, booze,
or if you're lucky enough, Frenzyheart Brew. This item has a 30 minute cooldown and requires
level 75. It transforms you into a Frenzyheart Furbolg when used.

    Timbermaw Furbolg:
    http://www.wowhead.com/item=66888/stave-of-fur-and-claw
By getting exalted with Timbermaw, you can purchase an item called Stave of Fur and Claw
for 75g from a vendor named Meliosh in Timbermaw Hold.
This will transform you into a Timbermaw Furbolg for 3 minutes, and has a 1 hour cooldown.
Unlike the frenzyheart furbolg, this one has no level requirement.
THIS ONE IS CATA ONLY, SORRY!

    Dartol's Rod of Transformation:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=5462
This item is part of the alliance-only quest Raene's Cleansing, and will transform you into
    a small reddish-brown furbolg.

    BlizzCon Murloc:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=33079
This costume on retail was only obtainable at the 2007 BlizzCon. Lucky for us,
we can buy it in the Shop. You can also do a quest in Borean Tundra, just to the south-west
of Bor'Gorok Outpost, where the murloc camp is. During a quest there you will be transformed
into a murloc with this same appearance. In order to get rep with these Murlocs and be able to
use their vendor to buy swim-speed bonus items and distress signals to summon a murloc pet,
you will have to quest further and lose access to this temporary costume.

    Iron Dwarf:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=43499
In Storm Peaks, at the Zeppelin crash site, there's a vendor who sells the Iron Boot Flask.
You can also purchase it in the Shop. This will transform you into an Iron Dwarf. Derp.

    Opposite Faction:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=1973
Orb of Deception is originally a drop from the mini-boss mob which spawns in The Maul,
the arena-like place in the middle of the Dire Maul courtyard. This mini-boss didn't spawn on
Molten (at least I never saw it), and probably won't spawn on Warmane either. It's a 6 hour wait
in-between spawns, so good luck finding out. This item can also be obtained from the reward
from a quest in Blasted Lands just off the road to Mudsprocket. I can't recall the quest name,
but the objective is to turn in a certain sphere or orb type thing, which drops from the big bronze
dragon flying around there. Does he spawn? Has anyone seen him? I don't know.
You can purchase the Orb of Deception in the Shop for vp.
The Orb of Deception will transform you into a race of the opposite faction, based on
your current race. Taurens == Gnomes, etc.

    Go Ape!
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=37254
Super Simian Sphere will allow you to go bananas in a pretty purple bubble for 5 minutes.
It is available in the Shop, for coins.

    Faded Wizard Hat:
(Too lazy to add a link)
This one is for CATA only, and although this guide is meant for WotLK, I thought
I would mention it simply because of how nice it is.
It's a long quest chain, and Horde only, but the hat is worth it.
It will transform you into an apprentice, of various random appearance.
You can fight in this form, but of course you lose the form if you die.
The hat has a 30 minute cooldown, and starts by talking to Teemo
    at Bilgewater Harbor in Azshara.
(There are FAR too many fun items and costumes in Cataclysm for me to
list them all here. Please don't ask me to, as I only play WotLK for now,
only on Deathwing, and don't have time to mess around with other
    expansions or realms.)

    Halloween Costumes:
Talk to any Innkeeper during Halloween event to "Trick or Treat". Sometimes you
will get candy, or a costume mask to wear around, and sometimes you will be
transformed into a ghost or some other seasonal disguse.
You can also get Hallowed Wands, which can transform another player into a Bat, Ghost,
    Wisp, Skeleton, or other things.

    Snowman / Reindeer:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=17198
If you've done the Winter's Veil quests and learned to make Egg Nog, then
you have probably figured this out. Drinking Egg Nog has a chance
to transform you into either a snowman or a reindeer. The reindeer form
doesn't move, but perhaps a /mountspecial would prove interesting, though
I haven't tried it. Dancing as a snowman is funny, give it a try!
You might have to drink a stack or more before you get the effect, but don't give up!

    Tiny Basilisk:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=43572
The Magic Eater fish in the Dalaran sewer have a tiny chance of transforming you into a
tiny basilisk. In this form you can't do much, but you can move really fast, especially
with some noggenfogger elixir to shrink you beforehand.
If you have gotten this effect to work on Warmane, please post it here so I can update.
I've eaten stacks of them, but usually in Org (Dalaran lag kills my poor computer).
It may be that you need to be in dalaran to use them, although on retail it works anywhere.
Magic Eater can also transform you into a Cockroach.

    Cockroach:
    See Tiny Basilisk above. ---^

    Tuskarr Fisherman:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=44012
Ever seen one of those plump little Tuskarr running around and wondered "wtf?"
Well the answer is simple. In Dalaran sewer, you will see little green vials laying on
the ground in certain places. These when looted give Underbelly Elixir. This potion
can only be used in Dalaran, and can do one of 4 things: It can transform you into
a Tuskarr Fisherman, or into a tiny Flying Bug (if you're lucky), or it can transform
everyone else (to your view only) into Dalaran mages. There is one more thing it can do,
perhaps a couple more things...the last one I can recall is that it sometimes will do a
cool blue-white light pool around you and give you a mana refill.

    Tiny Flying Bug:
    See Tuskarr Fisherman above. ---^
Additional note: I believe this effect is most likely to occur at Krasus' Landing, although on retail
I was able to get it to work anywhere in Dalaran. Perhaps Warmane has it set to only work if flying
is allowed at the location, I don't know.

    Rabbit:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=44792
During the Noblegarden festival, there are a couple of different ways to be transformed
into a rabbit. One of them is looting a Brightly Colored Egg, and the other is by using
a Blossoming Branch on someone else (changes them, but not you).

    Turkey:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=44812
During Pilgrim's Bounty festival, you can get a Turkey Shooter which will allow you to transform
the target player or npc into a turkey for a while. If you're a hunter, I HIGHLY recommend you tame
a vulture and use this on it at least once, just for the lulz.
If you're a death knight, try it on your pet too. Just remember, when the pet is attacked, it will
LOSE this form. Also, you cannot save your Turkey Shooters for later, they WILL fade when the
Pilgrim's Bounty festival ends. BUT, if you have an alt hunter, you can put turkey form on it, and
use it as a mailbox / showoff alt, and the form will last much longer. I was able to keep my hunter's
pet "bird of prey" as a turkey for several months before I played too long and the disguise timed out.

    Sheep:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/npc=32838
If you've been "Bonked" by Minigob Manabonk, the Gnome Mage who randomly appears in Dalaran,
you will become a sheep for a short time. If this happens, consider yourself fortunate. You will
later receive a one-time use item in the mailbox which allows you to turn a player into a sheep
without having to roll a mage.

    Ghoul:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=38660
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=38673
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=38699
There's a quest at Ebon Watch, started by a randomly dropped quest item (Withered Choker),
which you should have no trouble finding on the ghouls around the camp. This quest chain will
at a certain point allow you to disguise as a ghoul, which only works in a limited area, but enables
you to buy things like Bitter Plasma and Bowels n' Brains which cannot otherwise be purchased,
though they are normal level 75+ drink/food items (albeit disgusting ones).
Another way to become a ghoul, which works anywhere, is to join a party with a death knight,
find a convenient way to die (preferably naked to avoid repair bills), then have the death knight
cast Raise Ally on you. I've heard it's bugged, and people in raids or dungeons will get very
upset with you for using it on someone, as it will likely mess with the patience of the group
and cause problems for everyone. Best to do what I do: dualbox, kill one of your toons and
raise ally with the other. That way, no one is bothered but you, and you can get raised
right before accepting a duel to duel as a ghoul. Lol. A Ghoul duel.
There is another way to become a ghoul...a death knight's Raise Ally ability. However,
this is bugged and tends to make people upset, so if you really must do it, do it the way I do:
Dualbox, kill one of your toons, then use Raise Ally to raise it. Now you can play as a ghoul
for 5 minutes. I recommend you explode yourself before the effect wears off, I have a feeling
    that's when it bugs out.

    Direbrew:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=38320
Direbrew can change your appearance. I think it's from Brewfest.
I think it turns you into a dwarf.

    THE WIZARD!
On Molten, it was called the Molten Wizard. On retail it was the Blizzard Wizard, so I guess
here if we ever see it, it will be the Warmane Wizard. This is a special NPC spawned by the
server staff / GM. He pops up on top of the banks in Dalaran and in the major faction cities
such as Orgrimmar. When you talk to this NPC, you are presented with a list of many NPC
disguises to choose from, including various world mobs and even raid bosses. I only saw this
guy once or twice in the years I played on Molten. I don't know if we'll ever see him on Warmane,
but time will tell. Even the staff can get bored, you know. ;D
I remember disguising as everything from a housecat to Majordomo Executus from Molten Core.

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
    Fun Items and Effects:
    Bubbles:
There are several items in-game that grant neat little bubbles. If you're an herbalist, gathering
Felweed can sometimes give you a Fel Blossom, which absorbs a small amount of damage, and
gives a nice bubble effect. Another such bubble effect is obtained by Essense of Gossamer, a
nice little trinket, which procs a bubble when you're hit in combat. There are several trinkets
in the game which provide a "bubble" effect. I won't list them all now, because it's after midnight
    and I'm tired. :D

    Offhand Torch:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=1172
At the Lighthouse in Westfall, there's a Ghost Pirate with a quest (doable by both factions), which
gives as a reward an off-hand torch, which lights up the ground beneath you when you unsheath it.

    Hearts:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=49669
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=49668
A heart can be placed over someone's head by using a quest item from the Valentine's Day quest
"A Perfect Puff of Perfume". This item can be kept and used later.

    Gas Mask:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=50741
There's also a really cool gas mask / sprayer which can be obtained during Valentine's Day.
It is a quest item, but can be kept and used later, to spray at people. It looks fairly badass.

    Frostscythe of Ahune:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/?search=frostscythe
This scythe can be bought in the Shop for vote points, or can be obtained from Frost Lord Ahune
during the Midsummer Fire Festival, where you can queue for a special dungeon to fight him.
This scythe, when used, makes snowflakes fall on you for a while. There's little or no cooldown.
There is a level 70 and 80 version of this, so the link shows both.

    The Rawr Enhancer:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=29818
The quest is called "Flora of the Eco-Domes", and the item is called Energy Field Modulator.
I call it the rawr enhancer, because it makes a neat effect over the target's head, along with
a sound. To hear the sound and see the red effect, attack a boar outside org. It's that same alert
sound and visual effect. The quest is at Stormspire, I think.
This thing is cool, and even works on NPCs and pets. Does nothing useful, but looks neat.

    Ghostbuster Gun:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=13289
One of the coolest items, this sends a beam out which turns the target green, and if used with
no target, turns the user green. The beam is infinitely repeatable with no cooldown.
This item is Egan's Blaster, and is obtained during a quest which starts near Light's Hope
Chapel in Eastern Plaguelands. The questgiver is near a wagon a short distance from the
main town area. The quest will send you to find a guy near Stratholme, and you will find
a dwarf named Egan. This is one of my favorite toys, and has a nice range to it.
It occupies the Relic / Idol / Range Weapon / Sigil slot on your character sheet.

    Ectoplasmic Distiller:
    (NO SOUP FOR YOU!)
This is that annoying thing which makes a blue puddle of pulsating light on the ground
with a funny little machine in the middle of it. I have told you enough about this item
already. If you're smart, you can find it on your own at this point. If not, you are not
yet worthy to possess it. I'm sorry, but I don't want to see 100 of these lag-crashing the
servers. It would not be fun for anyone. But at any rate, there you have your bread-crumbs
    to follow. Good luck.

    Wings:
There's a daily quest at Argent Tournament which sends you to the Valley of Lost Souls to
gather little shards off the ground. You can only carry 6 of them at a time. Using the quest
item will put wings similar to paladin ret wings on your target for about a second. The effect
is nice, but only being able to carry 6 of the quest shards is annoying.

    Rock Out:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=39769
Arcanite Ripper is a nice two-hand axe available in the Shop for vote points.
When used, it causes you to become undead and begin playing the axe, which
is actually a guitar. You will play a nice metal riff and then go back to normal.
It has (I think) a 1 minute cooldown.

    Become Ethereal:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=44958
Ethereal Oil, made by Alchemists from the Glassfin Minnows caught in the river below
Dalaran, will make you translucent for 5 minutes. If you play Horde on Deathwing,
I sell them for 300g each, or 2000g per stack. If you're nice, I may toss you one for free
if I have a lot of them on me at the time.

    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=6662
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=12820
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=43478
There are many ways to enlarge in the game. One, which I will briefly mention, is
the "Feeling Underpowered" option at Witchdoctor Bom'bay in Sen'jin village. All of
his transformative effects are broken on Warmane. I'm sorry.
    Here's his location: http://wotlk.openwow.com/npc=10578

The easiest enlarge effects to obtain are Elixir of Giant Growth (made by Alchemists, and
useable at level 8+ I think), Winterfall Firewater (dropped by the Winterfall Furbolgs in
Winterspring, and useable at I think level 45+). There's also Gigantic Feast, which can
be made and set up by high level cooks. The recipe is purchased in Dalaran cooking
supplies vendor for 3 Dalaran Cooking Awards.
Other enlarge effects include the Bloated effect (I hope I got the name right) obtained from
battling Professor Putricide in Icecrown Citadel.
If you happen to be an engineer with a Dimensional Ripper, they can sometimes malfunction
and cause various effects, including a very nice enlarge effect. This effect can stack a few times,
but I will leave that for you to figure out on your own. It's probably the best enlarge effect besides
    the Bloated effect from PP.

    Shrink:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=8529
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=6522
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=43480
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=44228
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=18660
There are quite a few ways to shrink, and using them all can make you too small to even
be visible to other players. Let's check them out...
Noggenfogger Elixir: we've covered this one already, it has a decent shrink effect for 10 min.
Raw Deviate Fish: Eating these can do several things, one of which is to put a "curse" on you
for 2 minutes, which causes you to shrink and get a cool purple effect over your head, which
leaves a "tracer" or "trail" as you move.
Baby Spice: Obtained from doing the Dalaran Cooking daily quest, this can shrink you drastically,
but it doesn't last very long. It should be the last of the shrink-effect items you use if you plan to
use many at once to get really small.
Gnomish World Enlarger: This is something made by Gnomish Engineers, and can shrink you a
great deal, but the effect overrides another of the shrink effects, I can't recall which at the moment.
Small Feast: This can be made by high-level cooks who have purchased the recipe in Dalaran.
It shrinks you a lot for an hour.
Using the various shrink effects may leave you smaller depending on what order you use them in.
Experimenting with that idea in mind should lead you to the best results.
Doing a /kiss on a Mojo frog after using all the other shrink effects will make you so small you'll
have trouble seeing your own name or character.
A Magic Eater basilisk form on top of the shrink effects is also insanely tiny, and moves extremely
    fast.

    Lightning AoE + Shield Buff:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=9492
There is a cool level 28 helm in the vote shop called Electromagnetic Gigaflux Reactivator.
Wearing it puts a little rotating satellite dish on your head, and when used, it sends down a
blast of lightning which gives you a Lightning Shield buff, and does an AoE lightning attack
around you with a very long range. It has a 30 minute cooldown.
You can stand atop the bank at Orgrimmar and nail Gamon with this helm, the range is amazing.
It's probably not wise to use it in a raid. This is a great helm for 29 twinks.

    Light Effects:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=21540
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=21536
There is a cheap item called Elune's Lantern in the Shop, which I think is only 5 vote points.
When used, it creates an Elune Stone. When this stone is used, it puts a beam of light like a
spotlight on the ground, wherever you want to place it.
There are other things like a helm for example, which can place a similar beam. I can't recall the
name of that particular helm, but I'm sure you can find it by browsing the shop for helms.
There are many trinkets and other items (often quest items and/or quest reward green trinkets)
which make cool visual effects and/or sound effects. I encourage you to experiment with various
trinkets, but avoid Vanquished Clutches of Yogg'Saron, you will waste points on a broken trinket
as I once did. The "fun" trinkets with visual or sound effects are usually green quest reward trinkets.

    Purple Me, Purple Mount:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=18802
In Burning Steppes, at the far western end of the zone, there's a vendor which sells a bunch of
useless and expensive warlock items. None of these are necessary or useful since it's not retail,
but the Shadowy Potion, which costs 6g each, will make you purple for 20 minutes, and make
you friendly with the satyrs of Jaedenaar. This also offers up the possibility of using this "friendly"
effect in world pvp, having the npcs help you whoop on others who aren't friendly.
This potion will not only turn you purple, but your mount as well. If you drink an Ethereal Oil
with this potion, you will have almost the appearance of a shadow priest, though not as dark.

    Stormchops:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=33866
This recipe is obtained by doing the Shattrath (Outland) cooking daily quest. Eventually you
will get it, so don't give up. It can be in either the barrel of fish, or the crate of meat reward,
so which you choose shouldn't matter much. When eaten, Stormchops gives you a special
buff (which DOES stack with normal food buffs), which causes lightning to randomly strike
nearby enemies, critters, and pretty much anything that can be attacked.
Here is another of my secret tips, which I reveal now to you: Stormchops can zap hidden
rogues and druids, and may give you an edge against them by blowing their stealth.
If however you are a stealthy type, it can knock you out of stealth by zapping critters, npcs,
    or players at random.

    Fire Breath:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=23246
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=744
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=12217
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=38466
There are several items in game which can give fire breathing. The Midsummer Fiery Brew
lets you belch a nice looking cloud of flames. Dragonbreath Chili is more useful, it will randomly
cause you to breathe fire on an enemy when you strike them in melee. The effect looks nice
with feral cat. The recipe can be purchased by a mechanical vendor in Desolace, found along the
road near Ghostwalker Post. Drinking Sulfuron Slammer can get you really drunk and set your
whole body on fire for a second or so. It can be bought at the Grim Guzzler bar in BRD.
Can't get there? Buy a Direbrew's Remote in the Shop, and travel there instantly!

    Brew of the Month Club:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=37599
Brew of the Month Club membership (bought during Brewfest) will allow you to purchase
the current brew, which changes every month. These have unique and interesting effects,
such as belching bubbles or flames.

    Direbrew's Remote:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=37863
The famous Brewfest mole machine. Direbrew's Remote is the proper name, and
it will allow you to travel to the Grim Guzzler, where you can battle drunken dwarves
and buy drinks. On retail, you could also listen to the band L70ETC and watch them
play at any time. Here, however, they just hang out in Silvermoon all day banging groupies
and spilling their hookahs. If you find the bugged direbrew boss who's not supposed to be there,
he drops Hurley's Tankard, a main-hand beer mug. There are the possibility of random epics
like Lei of Lillies dropping from the various dwarves in this place.

    Drunk Pet Frog:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/?search=jubling
Obtaining a JubJub frog from Darkmoon faire can be tricky, and you'll need the Dark Iron Ale
found via the remote mentioned above in order to get it. Why? Poor JubJub is an alcoholic,
and when you throw the Dark iron ale near him, he will hop over and drink it. This is how you
lead him back to the owner. I'm sure this is bugged, as I've never seen Darkmoon Faire
on Warmane yet, other than the bugged cannon at Thunder Bluff, which is supposed to
"fire" a player who climbs into it (who then gets temporary wings and is able to glide to try and
land in a specific spot for a reward). A Jubling's Tiny Home can be purchased in the Shop.
When you throw Dark Iron Ale at this frog, he will go over and drink it.

    Sleepy:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=6522
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/?search=dream+vision
There are a couple of things I can think of which make your character go to sleep, with the
little "Zzzz" above their head. One is Raw Deviate Fish, which can put you to sleep while
still standing, almost looking like you've been sapped. The other is Elixir of Dream Vision,
made by Alchemists (or obtained by other means as I will describe below). This elixir
causes your character to lay down and sleep, and lets your "mind" wander around like
an Eye of Kilrogg, but totally invisible. If you want to explore in this way without the
"sleepy" effect, I suggest purchasing a "Blue Crashin' Thrashin' Racer Controller" at
the Dalaran toy store. It is bugged and works similar to an Eye of Kilrogg, but with
better range, no aggro, and is totally invisible. Yay for bugs, amirite?
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/?search=crashin%27

    Far, Far, Far Sight:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/spell=6196
Shamans who are clever may find that when they cast Far Sight to see into the distance,
they can cast it again from that view, and target an even farther spot. In this way, I have stood
in Auberdine (as a tauren shaman) and "hopped" my far sight all the way to Orgrimmar.
While I couldn't see players at that distance, I was able to /wave at Gamon from Auberdine,
so pardon me if I must /flex.

    Giant Companion:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=35223
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=38506
You can purchase Papa Hummel's Old-Fashioned Pet Biscuits in the Shop. The price is
1 coin per 50 biscuits. When you use them on your companion pet, it will double in size.
Using this on the Coyote Spirit summoned by Don Carlos' Hat, the coyote will be bigger than
a kodo. If you play on Deathwing, you've probably seen my shaman with a massive coyote
    pet standing around in Orgrimmar.

    Green Gas:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=36818
There's a quest at Agmar's Hammer in Dragonblight called "Where the wild things roam".
You get a quest item called Pack of Vaccine. If you choose to keep the item rather than
completing the quest, you can use it anywhere to make a nice green gas cloud on the ground.
You can throw it 3 times before the first cloud gets replaced, so you can have 3 active spots
of gas cloud on the ground. It also makes a nice glass-breaking sound.

    Ground Flames:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=33278
There's a quest at Vengance Landing called War is Hell. It gives a Burning Torch, which is
intended to be used to burn corpses. But corpses stink when burned, and why go thru all that
when you can use the torch instead to set the road on fire in Orgrimmar?
This torch is bugged in that it doesn't require a corpse, you get credit every time you use it
regardless of whether or not a corpse is present. This might look good with the green gas
mentioned above. The torch will light the ground beneath you.
If you walk slow, you can leave a trail of flames! :)

    Bloodspore Poison:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=34979
People always ask about this one...on the Bloodspore Plains of Borean Tundra, there is a quest
chain which lets you get Pouch of Crushed Bloodspore. The trick here is to never use it to kill
the quest boss, but instead zap it or (preferably) the Magmataur Huntress from max range to
avoid aggro. You will get the shrink + flames effect without the need for combat. If you kill
the quest boss you are sent to kill, you will lose the pouch. If you complete the quest, you
cannot get this effect again ever on that character unless in party with someone who has it.
If you can't find the quest spot, look for the giant moth egg near Gammoth. This egg is turned
in at the same questgiver who starts the Wonderous Bloodspore quest chain.
This effect looks awesome with the Burning Torch listed above, and the Midsummer chestpiece.
Toss some red and white smoke flares on yourself, and it's even better!
Some of you may get upset that I reveal this one, but anyone with half a chimp brain can look
at the buff name and do a quick Google search, so it's not exactly a "secret".

    Dirty Druidry:
Druids can have fun, especially balance druids. For example, a Typhoon cast will knock an enemy
off of their flying mount, painting the ground with their remains if they're high enough in the air.
If the druid is quick, and does typhoon at a decent range, he or she may be able to get back into
flight form before the typhoon hits the enemy. This dismounting is normal, and works on retail
as well. Remember, druids are the masters of nature. Another fun thing is as follows....
Find an enemy who has no obvious means of water-breathing. Lure them deep underwater,
the deeper the better, and when they start to go up for air, cast cyclone on them. As cyclone
fades, cast Entangling Roots on them. Keep doing this Cyclone, Root, repeat until they finally
drown. Easy peezy, and no GS requirement.
If you exit water and pop seal form at just the right moment, so that it shifts you after you've left
the water, you can move around on the land in seal form.
In bird form while on the ground (but not sitting), you can type /mountspecial to fly in a loop.

    Uber Twink Heal:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=32578
Do you know about the Charged Crystal Focus? It has a 2k instant heal with little or no cooldown,
and no level requirement. Now, getting it on, say, a 19 twink would seem a bit of a challenge, but
don't worry, I've got you covered. First, you'll need a warlock and a volunteer to travel to Blade's
Edge mountains in Outland. Find the crystal-covered area near Ogri'La, and the mobs there will
drop Apexis Shards. The giants will drop a blue Apexis Crystal, which can be used to purchase
items from the Ogri'la Quartermaster. Make sure your lowbie is in the party, and has been
summoned by the warlock to a relatively safe area, and make sure looting is set to "Free for all".
Now, go around killing things, and let the lowbie gather all the Apexis Shards. If a Crystal Focus
drops, let them get that too. You will use 10 Apexis Shards to charge a Crystal Focus. After that,
your lowbie has an instant 2k heal that does not share cd with heal potions, and I believe has no
cooldown of its own. You can pretty much pop them like Skittles. It's a tremendous amount of
work to get enough of them to be useful for more than 1 BG, but possibly worth it.
Another heal can be gained from Raw Deviate Fish. If you're lucky enough to get a heal effect
rather than falling asleep, it will heal for UP TO 1k or more. I've seen 1400-1500hp heals from it.
It can however also be a low heal of 100-400hp. There's a spirit buff and other neat effects it can do.

    Free Herbs, Potions, and Elixirs:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=11020
At Thunder Bluff, there is a vendor on Elder Rise which sells a pouch and seeds, which are
used with Un'goro Soil to create a Seed Casing. Within this casing you will find random herbs,
including Morrowgrain. You can turn the Morrowgrain in for a Cenarion reward bag which contains
random potions, elixirs, herbs, and cheese. If you need Alterac Swiss, this is a way to stock up
on more than you will ever need, for free.
You cannot talk to this vendor until you have started the quest chain and have been sent to her.
I'm tired, you can Google it. Have fun. xD

    Group Potions:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=44698
Did you know that the Dalaran First-Aid supplier sells Intravenous Healing Potion?
It sets up an IV unit which everyone in party or raid can click on to restore HP and Mana.
It's cheap, and can be very useful. I only mention it because so many people have never
    seen it.

    Twink Drinks:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=18269
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/?search=rumsey+rum
Every twink knows about Rumsey Rum Light, Rumsey Rum Dark, Rumsey Rum Black Label,
and that all of them can be used together. But did you know Dire Maul has a twink drink in it, and
that you can buy it with 1 vote point? It's called Green Gordok Grog, and it gives +10 stamina
and gets you drunk. So there's yet another +stam drink for you! If that's not enough to help you,
remember that eating a Raw Deviate Fish can sometimes give a free heal of up to 1k or more.

    Twink Speed Bonus:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=25653
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=7969
If you're level 70 or under, you can get a Riding Crop (made by leatherworking, the pattern is sold
in Old Hillsbrad in Caverns of Time), which is a trinket that increases mount speed by 10%.
You can put Mithril Spurs (made by blacksmithing) on your boots for an additional 4%.
A level 70 twink Unholy Death Knight or Paladin can use this 14% bonus to outride anyone.
If you pop Drums of Speed first, I think it affects mount speed as well, for another 10% bonus.
If you've not heard of Free Action Potion, you should talk to my alchemist! It prevents all effects
like stuns, fear, snares, etc. for 20 seconds. That's plenty of time to run a flag back in WSG to cap.
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=5634

    Drums? What Drums?
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/?search=drums
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=29529
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=29532
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=29531
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=29530
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=29528
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=49633
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=49634
Twinks up to level 70 can have fun in BGs with the various drums. The ones I recommend the
most are Drums of Speed, and Drums of Panic. Drums of Panic causes up to 8 enemies to flee
(fear effect) for 2 seconds, enough time to gain some ground or get into stealth, or to pop a
life-saving heal. Most drums require Leatherworking, but there's a couple of level 70 drums that
    can be used without LW.
Now here's some drums that have me curious...
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=54215

    Special Minions:
    Ghost Saber:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=5332
In the Ruins of Mathystra, in far northern Darkshore, you will find little cat statues laying
around in various places. When you loot these, they have a chance to spawn a ghost saber,
which you can tame if you're a hunter level 28+, or you can kill the poor thing and get a
Glowing Cat Figurine, which will summon a ghost saber as a guardian for 10 minutes.
It's a one-time use item, and unique so you can only carry one at a time, but you can
return and get another anytime you so desire.

    Tracking Hound:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=3456
In Scarlet Monestary, the first instance (the portal on the right-hand side, with no door),
you will find Houndmaster Locksey. Killing him will sometimes give you a Dog Whistle,
which has 3 charges, and allows you to summon a Tracking Hound for 10 minutes.
This hound is weak, but it CAN spot a stealthed rogue. Hint hint.

    Thornling:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=18297
In Dire Maul's plant quarter (the instance with the big roots growing nearby), you will find
some pods on the ground. Looting them will sometimes give you a Lasher Seed. When you
use these, they spawn a tiny lasher guardian to fight alongside you for a few minutes.
You can carry as many as you like, they form stacks of 5, so your bag will fill quickly if
you get greedy. They are also BoP, so don't get any ideas about selling them.
On retail, they are supposed to work similarly to a shaman's Stoneclaw Totem,
or an engineer's Target Dummy, by producing high threat.

    Yumi's Mechanical Yeti:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=12928
At Everlook in WInterspring, you will find the quest "Are we there, yeti?" which after
a couple of simple initial quests will give you Yumi's Mechanical Yeti. I recommend you
keep this and never finish the quest. Why? The quest item is better than the reward.
Yumi's Mechanical Yeti has 12 charges, and when you run out, you can simply drop
and retake the quest to get another. The reward, however, is a Mechanical Yeti with
only a few charges, and you can never get it again. Therefore, keep Yumi's Yeti, it's
    much better.

    Fel Hound Companion:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=30803
Near Thrallmar in Hellfire Peninsula, you will find a mine, with a goblin and some fel hounds
standing around. He has the quest "Shizz Work" which will give you a Felhound Whistle
that summons a fel hound when you stand close to the goblin. Now you could do this quest,
if you like the idea of digging through hellboar poop. Personally, I'd rather have a Fel Hound
companion I can drag over to Thrallmar whenever I want to. It doesn't fight, but it's bigger than
a warlock's fel hound pet. It lasts indefinitely, and is considered a "companion", allowing it to work
with those wonderful Papa Hummel's Old-Fashioned Pet Biscuits I mentioned earlier...I assume I does,
but haven't yet tested it. I can't imagine how big it would be!

    Murloc:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=37464
Between Bor'Gorok Outpost and Coldarra is an area with murlocs. There is a vendor here
which sells Winterfin Horn of Distress. This item, when used, will summon a murloc to fight
for you. It lasts a couple of minutes at most, and only one may be active at a time, sadly.
I would also mention the Cenarion Signal Flare from Cenarion Expedition Outpost in Zangarmarsh,
except that one is bugged and does not work.

    Cenarion Outpost Guardian:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=24429
Cenarion Signal Flare at Cenarion Outpost in Zangarmarsh will summon a Cenarion NPC to
come and fight for you as a guardian for I think 5-10 minutes. I'm not really sure, as it's been
years since I played retail, and the flare is bugged on Warmane (doesn't work at all).

    Cenarion Sparrowhawk:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=32315
This one is for druids only, part of their flight form quest chain.

    Trackers of The Hand:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=24278
IDK what this is or what it does. I'm too tired and lazy to Google it.

    Kor'Cron Flare Gun:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=31108
    or for alliance:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=31310
This is a quest item, but you might have fun with it. Who knows.

    Keristrasza:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=35718
This is...a quest item. I don't know much else about it, sorry.

    Captive Rune Giant:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=33796
In Howling Fjord, at Camp Winterhoof, you can get a quest which gives the item Rune of Command.
This item allows you to gain control of a Captive Runed Giant for 5 minutes. This is a cool minion!
It has 43k hit points, and shakes the ground when it walks. I've managed to get it to various towns
in Howling Fjord before it timed out. The minion fades at the moment the item finishes cooldown,
so you can just go get another if you so desire.

    Remote-Controlled Fel Reaver:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=7506
I remember back in BC on retail, when I first started questing in Hellfire. I was looting something,
minding my own business, and suddenly there was a strange noise, and the ground shook.
I turned around just in time to see a Fel Reaver step on my face. You can help some random
enemies relive this experience by using a Remote Control on a Fel Reaver.
The remote requires Engineering, and is made by engineers.

    Shahram:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=12592
There is a sword from the Molten Core raid, called Blackblade of Shahram. This sword is also
available in the Shop. Although the "coolness" of it has been "fixed" and it's no longer worthy
of mention, I will mention it simply because of the massive fun I've had with it back on Molten.
It was bugged, you see, and allowed an unlimited number of Shahrams to spawn. Me and
another guy beat on training dummies in Undercity for hours. Eventually the screen was covered
in naga, and my computer crashed. By my buddy went on to travel to Stormwind (which was our
original plan for the naga armies), and destroyed the city. He and his naga army killed everything
including the King, and eventually the server crashed from lag. The sword was prompty "fixed",
Mike the Death Knight was promptly banned for a while, and only screenshots and rumors
remain to tell the tale. If my computer hadn't crashed, I would have been banned along with him.
What can I say? It would have been totally worth it! ;D
I have many screenshots of me camping the docks at Auberdine with an army of Shahrams.
A few hundred naga can really change a person's travel plans quickly.
I honestly wish I had never shared this secret with anyone. It would never have gotten so
wildly abused, or patched. What's worse is that here I am handing out more of my tricks for free.

    Reflection of Ya-Sixx:
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/quest=10345
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/quest=10353
You can get the quest The Flesh Lies, and Arconus the Insatiable. The former simply makes
it easier to get to Ya-Sixx to pick up the latter quest. Once you accept the Arconus quest,
a reflection of Ya-Sixx will appear to be your guardian. He only lasts 5 minutes or so,
but if you're clever like me, you will drop quest and re-take it over and over until you have several
of them. At this point you're ready to trash anyone or anything that comes along.
It's not something I expect Warmane to "fix", as it doesn't last long enough to manage to get
it to Area 52 or anywhere else you're likely to find a player, but it can make questing in that area
a little easier and less boring. This is not a bug, it works the same on retail. Blizzard's fault. ;D

    Plaguehound:

At Vengance Landing in Howling Fjord, there is the quest Let them Eat Crow, which gives
a plaguehound pet which is only useable in Bleeding Vale area of Howling Fjord.
They do not move, but stay in the spot where they are summoned.
Also, you can summon one after another, with seemingly no limit.
The staying in place rather than following is normal behavior, but when summoning a new one,
the previous one is supposed to fade. I have not yet tested these in PvP, to see if they will
decide to chase an enemy player. They probably won't.

    Figurines and Statues:
Jewelcrafters can create many "figurines", some of which summon guardians of various types.
In addition, they can create statues that are supposed to heal over time, but are in fact bugged
and just follow you around instead of casting their healing beam. They last a few seconds.
Many of these figurines are available in the Shop.

    Engineered Pets:
Engineers can make things like Exploding Sheep, ans other neat pet-like things.
The Goblin Land Mines are buggy, and will follow you around. This pattern and some
others for Engineering and Blacksmithing may be found in BlackRock Deep (BRD).

    Trinket Pets:

There are many trinkets in the game that summon guardian pets to fight alongside you.
Timbermaw Hold offers an epic level 60 trinket at exalted rep, which summons a Timbermaw
to fight and heal you (although his heal effect seems not working).
There are a couple of trinkets which summon tentacles. One is Vanquished Clutches of
Yogg'saron, which is bugged and DOES NOT WORK. The other one, a level 60 trinket
called Vanquished Tentacle of C'Thun. This one DOES work.
There is the Tiny Voodoo mask, which summons 3 voodoo gnomes to fight for you
    for about a minute.

    Weapon Pets:

    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=10847
Some weapons can spawn pets, such as:
The Horseman's Blade, a two-hand sword which summons 3 pumpkin soldiers to fight for you for about a minute.
Speaking of the Horseman, check out his helm! http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=33808
When that helm laughs, everyone in the zone / city hears it.
Dragon's Call, a level 52 one-hand sword can summon an Emerald Whelp to fight
for you, but it only lasts a few seconds. Of course, I won't even mention the name of that
legendary staff that summons Val'kyr. No one deserves to have that.

In Dalaran at the Jewelry Store, you will find very expensive rings, which can teleport
you back to Dalaran. With one of these, you can set your hearthstone elsewhere and
still go back to Dalaran easily when you need to. If you are a Scribe, you can make
scrolls to teleport yourself back to Dalaran. If you are an Engineer, you can make
a few different items to teleport yourself around the game world, such as Dimensional
Rippers and Wormholes. If you need to go to Karazhan frequently for whatever reason,
look for the Ruby Slippers. They drop in Kara, and when "used" will teleport you to Karazhan.
If you need to get to BRD or LBRS/UBRS/MC, a Direbrew's Remote can get you to BRD
fast, but you must find your own way from the Grim Guzzler to where you need to go.

    First Trip to Dalaran:
In the Horde and Ally towns in Dragonblight, there are NPCs of the Kirin'Tor faction, which
will teleport you to Dalaran. There's no need to pay some mage to send you there.

    Alterac Valley Shredder:
In the Alterac Valley battleground, you can summon a shredder to fight for you for a while.
It's available in the Shop for 1 vote point, look for Zinfizzlex's Portable Shredder Unit.
If you are in the 60-69 bracket, this shredder is known as the game breaker, it will crush your
enemies with no mercy. However, at 70+ it becomes only a minor annoyance, easily done away
with by the enemy. PLEASE NOTICE there are 2 available in the vote shop. I don't know which
is which, but if you get the wrong one, it will attack you. :D

    Fighting Wolf Mount:
Hunters can tame a wolf with a saddle. Don't go for the light grey one outside Thrallmar,
there's a darker one in Blade's Edge north of Thunderlord Stronghold. This one looks indentical
to the Black War Wolf mount sold outside Hall of Legends in Orgrimmar for 50k honor.
You can also buy this mount with vote points.
Now when you dismount, your mount seems to "become" your pet.
I will name mine "Dismounted". ;D
There are other mount / pet combinations which can work, including dragonhawks, bears,
hawkstriders (sorry, I meant Chocobos), and others, like certain cats for alliance.

    Special Quest Mounts / Vehicles:
There are many special quest mounts in the game, which can be quite fun.
I won't provide a comprehensive list, simply because people might exploit them
to the point Warmane is forced to intentionally break those vehicles or quests
    to prevent constant exploitation.

Some of them, like the giants Gymer and the Etymidian are instanced, making
them useless in pvp. Others like the Blight Spreader, Ruby Beacon of the Dragon Queen,
Kor'Kron Flare Gun, and the various mountable Shredders throughout the game can be used in PvP,
but some like the Ruby Beacon may result in a swift ban of your account. Word to the wise!

I've used the Ruby Beacon of the Dragon Queen to solo all the elites in Dragonblight,
but I hold myself to a strict policy of not using it to 1-shot players. It's tempting at times,
but worth it to let someone live to avoid a ban. A one-shot fireball is the WoW equivalent
of Bobbafett cheats in Diablo 1, so let's please not abuse it, okay?

There is a cool Mechano-Scorp that can be piloted in Shadowmoon Valley, but it is
unfortunately bugged, and even on retail it's limited to a small quest area.
I mention it because it was a fun little short quest and counts on my "vehicles" list.

There are MANY shredders in the game that can be piloted. Some are more fun
than others. Ashenvale quests feature one, another is at Venture Bay in Grizzly Hills,
and this one is meant for pvp. There's another, I think somewhere in Dragonblight, which
is used to gather lumber samples, but can also be used to fight. In general, these are
fairly weak and useless in pvp, except for the Venture Bay shredder, which as I said
was intended to PvP with in that area.
    http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=37500

Other special mounts include the Lich King himself! Yes, there's a quest in Icecrown
where you get to play as Arthas. Sadly (for exploit-hunters like me) the form is instanced,
so when I spent hours walking Arthas to the tele crystal below Dalaran, no one noticed.
Oh and by the way he can't use the crystal to get up to Dalaran, just so you know. ;D

Another cool mount-type thing is the Eye given to new Death Knights to spy on the human town.
If this thing bugs on you by refusing to go up or down, simply hit JUMP to fix it.
If you have trouble finding the spots to "scan" just land on the rooftops of the target buildings.

I've tried taking The Etymidian thru the Waygate from Shalozar to Un'goro, but alas he was
too big to fit, and he's instanced, so you won't find any players to step on.
He's a huge giant you can try out by talking to Freya in Shalozar Basin. There's a quest chain
leading up to your being able to ride on his shoulder, but he's seriously one OP friggin giant.
I would say he could probably beat Gymer and Thrym at the same time if such a battle
    were possible.

Some of the best special mounts are found in Ulduar and Wintergrasp, both of which are...
as you probably know, still "works in progress".

Cata has a really cool Panther you can play as during a Shalozar quest, although I think
it's instanced so you can't pvp in that form. Alas, this is a WotLK guide, so don't expect
    many Cata tips from me.

Both Orb of the Sin'dorei and Darkspear Pride work as ally.

Dartol's Rod of Transformation keeps working after transferring to the horde.
