Has nothing to do with Photoshop or anything like that.
Makes me remember of how distorted things look like in games when they are near the corners of the image due to the field of vision.
I think part of it has to do with the distance that you see yourself in the mirror and the distance of the camera. For example, if you're taking a selfie, that's going to be much closer than looking in the mirror due to arm length. The farther away the camera or mirror is, the more likely things like blemishes will be hidden. Also, shadows and lighting play a huge role in it.
