Newbie here. Heard that dungeon finder is not working in Lordaeron (on purpose as I understand it). But I was wondering if this is the same case for Deathwing and Ragnaros?

Yes, the dungeon finder works on Deathwing and Ragnaros.
Tried Deathwing yesterday - no one is using the dungeon finder at low levels.
Currently level 26 and haven't done 1 single dungeon, while queued.
Maybe everyone is already 80 and doing only a handfull of level 80 dungeons ? I don't know.

I imagine since people blow through levels so fast that dungeon finder wouldn't have much of a population until like level 50+.

Still low lv RDF is useful for achievement points -> respectively for daily login bonus:
points > 8000 = +1
points > 7000 = +0.9
points > 6000 = +0.8
points > 5000 = +0.7
points > 4000 = +0.6
points > 3000 = +0.5
points > 2000 = +0.4
points > 1000 or 1000 = +0.3

on the higher rate realms it's better to just hit 80 than go solo those dungeons. rdf while leveling on 7x is pointless.

no it does not work
I queue up and Nothing else happens. It goes on to look for 18 minutes and stealthily disappears while I'm not looking at it, quitting its search.

Not true, it works just fine. If you que at level 80, you will find a group eventually. Takes forever for dps though, usually instant que for tank.

It works, I queued at level 30 , waited in queue for about 2h, by that time I was already about 45 , somehow the RDF got 5 players toghether, teleported us to Scarlet Monastery, but because everyone was in white gear or at best green items, we all wiped at the first 2 trash mobs. GG.
