Activity rank is currently being developed and the point shop will be re-released at the same time as the activity rank system.

Point collection may became automatic based on activity rank at the end of every day.

Points will be switched to a single decimal value as well, allowing for example, +0.3, +0.4, so on.
This allows higher activity ranks to give the most points, which goes beyond "1", up to 1.2 for the highest discussed so far.

The cost of items will remain a flat rounded number, such as 10, 11, 20, 30.

So how will this affect the point squish that we already have? Would this still make say 90 points as 9? Or would it be squished to .9?

You guys are yet to address the meat and bones of how your "Activity" system will work. Is it that you guys are yet to figure out that theres no real way to combat multi box AFKing or is it that you dont really care to divulge how your going to decide who gets the lions share of points so that when people start asking or complaining it can simply be ignored?

You guys have been extremely uninformative about the activity system. If you want to distinguish yourself from you former incarnation, MORE information not less is the way to do it.

I really think you guys should set another deadline for us, for example Oct 1. Or give us another week to use points. It kinda sucks we were told to spend our points before September 1st, and even though they weren't reset it's been 16 days since then.

I understand their is going to be a squish but can you answer this, race change is 100, so would it still be 100 or squish to 10? And would 100 points squish to 10 or 1?

and for every complaint in this thread there are 3 of us who are rational.
I pray everyone will survive this tumultuous time without free activity point gear.

The automatic daily point collection sounds excellent.

You said MoP and Cata will follow the step like WOLTK right?

Removing low level item for transmog, you almost never fix old raid/dungeon, you only focus end raid then go next expan, you never fix phasing for something like twilight highland quest/ molten front.

Removing mount, now this gonna create an uproar, the new player will cry and moan ' OLD character already have cool mount' while veteran character gonna show off mount in front of auction house.

Now i once ask blizzard why head,shoulder, and chest piece item require token to obtain in Cata, they said so people will do raid and can experience, so basicly they said 'you want cool shoulder and head? go raid'.
And if you put high end tier item on VP, then people with no experience can join raid without knowing tactic and ruin the whole raid, people with 5,5K GS without even once step inside ICC.

Oh i want a twinblade of the phoenix where do you get it? : from Vote Shop , but theres no item under 200 ilvl in VP? then do tempest keep old raid, but its closed?. then wait for 2-3 years maybe they will script it.

Oh thats cool mount swift nether drake where do you get it? : from Vote Shop, but theres no mount in vote shop? : then thats too bad for you.

Wrath of the Lich King point shop is currently being re-worked, this topic will serve as information, discussion and feedback about what is changing, new limits and removals.

Also note that all prices will be squished to a factor of 10, including point collection.

Removals
- Profession related items such as materials and patterns
- Bags
- Mounts and Companions

Changes
- Lower end northrend items will cost the same or slightly more
- Weapons and Armor below item level 200 will no longer be available
- All bind on equip items removed from the point shops
- All heroic weapons and armor will be unavailable

Added
- New items up to item level 271 added with an increased point cost, no heroics available

It will take a while to get these items. Approximately 1.5 to 2 years to fully gear up via points if you maintain your activity rank (TBA)

Reminder, Lordaeron will have no point shop.

Also warmane please release lower end items as many people want this, 0.2.cost or somthing.
When you say flat rounded numbers does that mean 10 will be thr cheapest item? As thats 100points which would make 1 item really expencive

This means RS 25 gear won't be obtainable through the vote shop which isn't a bad thing in my opinion and also excludes ICC 25 LK drops which is also fine.

Do you really want another deadline? And when they don't meet that deadline you ***** and moan on forums at this point the best thing we can do is just wait and be patient I'm just happy we an update.
