mute/chat block the global..the trade..thats cool
but absolutely when your in a party/ whispr > there should be no such thing as getting muted for a minute. It...just.... doesnt work like that. Its hard to challenge the environment - when you cant get across quick short messages. Often times i play with the same people - its nice cuz you develop an abbreviated chat system - can work out a complex dillema in just moments... but wait> MUTE
what should take in our instant reaction, 45secs > now just turned into 4mns. That shouldnt happen in this rpg.

I say mute everyone even in /s chat after 3-4 lines of chat . I mean at least on 1st and 2nd day to stop potential spam and abuse , maybe even lag on server.

Thares you should be muted permanently, spammer :D On topic don't forget about people who use addons that announce stuff in party/raid chat like %t used this or that ability %t put a fish feast etc. Also i wish people would learn to actually use LFG instead of Global...

Actually, Global is just a channel you can join manually and optionally. Technically, on retail, everyone could join a channel called Global, they just don't.
It's the same in the game The Secret World. Many players join the channel Sanctuary, which is not an official channel, it's just the channel people decided would be best as a "Global" channel. It's the same in WoW, again, people COULD join any channel name and deem it a Global channel.

I agree with this. When it comes to Whispers and private channels that is(Guild and Party). I noticed I was being muted when typing fast to someone in a whisper. I'm sure this will be fixed.

I don't understand some of you. You come to a social massive multiplayer online role playing game and you say you don't want chat? Gtfo and leave the rest to enjoy the main part of this game - socialising.
If this mute thing is really happening (haven't played on ptr yet) and they don't remove it o launch then realm may fail from the start.

There shouldn't be any limitations, maybe just a 1 second mute/break after instant 10 lines to prevent spammers. Even more efficient way to battle spammers is if they get perma bans for doing 1-1000 numbers. Normal people shouldn't suffer because someone is feeling particularly douchebaggish and decides to disconnect everyone around him/her with chat spam.
As for people that type fast, and you can't handle it, there's a neat little option called ignore. It's there for a reason.

It's really annoying not being able to use raid asssist addons to do buff/flask/food checks due to the amount of lines they require in chat. Just as annoying not being able to post meters/death readouts. Something along the lines of 10 lines or more in less than a second is fine, if not even more lenient.

Omg this ingame chat mute is so annoying! pls remove it on whispers since there is an ignore feature if they are spamming the person. I cant chat properly with my in-game friends with this feature on. So annoying
