1. Quick Census I did manually

    Hey guys!
I'm new here and since I wanted to know the distribution of classes for both factions and couldn't find any exact data I quickly made my own census which Im sharing with you here :)
Note:(I used the who command for each class between level 51-60, no class was above 50 for any faction so it should be accurate, also I think it measures the more active players if you only take those near or at maxlevel. It took me about 10 minutes between 20:15-20:25 I started with Horde, there may be minor fluctuations due to that)

    Horde:

    Warlock:10
    Priest:15
    Mage:16
    Rogue:18
    Druid:21
    Hunter:24
    Paladin:27
    Warrior:30
    Shaman:31

    All:192

    Alliance:

    Shaman:8
    Mage:10
    Warlock:11
    Druid:11
    Rogue:14
    Priest:15
    Hunter:24
    Warrior:30
    Paladin:40

    All:163

    Tl;DR Alliance needs shamans

  2. Unfortunately, the staff are the only ones who can do a proper census by extracting data from the database (if it works as I think it does).

CensusPlus or any kind of counting script won't work as they rely on SendWho(), a command with a pretty big cooldown on Warmane.

  3. That looks about what most people have guessed. Ty for sharing ;)

  4. Warriors and Paladins alone make up damn near 50% of alliance. Yep, seems about right.

  5. Hmm, Census actually seems to work just fine:

    Rogues: 190
    Warlocks: 155
    Warriors: 321
    Paladins: 374
    Shamans: 138

    lvl 60: 43

    Spoiler: Show

Taken 2 minutes ago. There's 1.4k horde online, not 300. The AddOn doesn't work as intended, as I said previously, it gathers data it gets after sending a SendWho() request to the server. The server returns a result once every 5 seconds or so, thus the addon skips over 3-4 /who lists (obvious in the pic below, you can see level brackets skipped).

What you have is data gathered in time, which may or may not be accurate at the time of your picture.

Edit : Decided to fiddle with the code and found out it had an in-build cooldown for /who requests.. gonna increase the delay time and post new results.

    Priest: 8342
    Shaman: 6317

    Druid: 6720

    Top levels:

    60: 346
    59: 24
    58: 27
    57: 41
    56: 43
    55: 82
    54: 70
    53: 59
    52: 57
    51: 61
    50: 82

  8. Thank you for that Edifice, now people can finally shut up about how many Paladins they keep seeing :D

  9. How is that a concensus of Lorderon.. hes posting numbers of 16,000 people and more.. lorderons only has 6000 players on it doesnt it?

He counts all characters that has been made?

  11. How is that a concensus of Lorderon.. hes posting numbers of 16,000 people and more.. lorderons only has 6000 players on it doesnt it?
Characters active in the past week I'd guess.

It's also a census, not consesus. Two different words with very different meanings.

Tweaked the code for census+ to make sure it works with Warmane's limitations on spam control and came up with this results yesterday after 3-4 scans (each lasted about one or two hours)

    14% Warriors
    13% Hunters
    11% Shamans
    10% Paladins
    10% Mages
    10% Priests
    10% Rogues
    8% Warlocks
    8% Druids

So, at least horde-side, the top 3 most played races are Warriors, Hunters and Shamans... Strange, really. Would expect Shamans to be a lot below say Paladins and Mages...

  12. Lordaeron Census so far:

    Human: 16109
    Dwarf: 3514
    Night Elf: 8539
    Gnome: 3361
    Draenei: 5665
    56% humans. That's just depressing.

  13. 56% humans. That's just depressing.
More like shows how people wanna minmax by rolling humans :) Spirit + PVP trinket and Rep racial :)

  14. 56% humans. That's just depressing.
I think a lot of them are just Namesave toons.
Like I play 2 toons and the rest are just Namesaves and they are all human

  15. I think a lot of them are just Namesave toons.
Like I play 2 toons and the rest are just Namesaves and they are all human
Quit trying to sugarcoat it. BTW. Shamans can be 3, different races while paladins can only be one. That may have something to do with it. How accurate are your results anyways.
