1. [Guide][3.3.5]Meow's Compendium - A Comprehensive Guide for the PVP Feral Druid

I. Introduction

Spoiler: Show
Welcome to my feral druid PVP guide for WotLK! Firstly, everything in my guide is simply to help other feral druids improve their own style of gameplay by writing down what I have learned about playing feral druids over the past few years. It is by no means an absolute truth on how to play a feral druid, & there may be some content within the guide that you disagree with or believe is incorrect. If you do find a mistake, or an area which needs improvement, or an area which I have not covered, or any suggestions that you would like to put forward, I would really appreciate you letting me know. If you would like to contact me in-game, my feral druid is called Meow, on Icecrown. Please also note that some ideas about the layout & content within the guide I have got from reading other guides (mostly Badgerzz's Feral + MM Guide), so I apologize if there are some parts which seem very similar. Thank you for reading, & I hope the guide will help you out! Note that this is an early version & I will likely make changes & add more content in the future.

II. Talents & Glyphs
Spoiler: Show

Talent Choices Explained
http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16938
The reduced energy cost for http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48574 (& http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48566 if you're http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33917 specced) is the reason you pick up this talent. In duels, BGs, world PVP & for most arena comps you will want 5/5 in this. If playing with a resto shaman, hunter or rogue in 2s, some people decide to put only 3/5 in this but I recommend putting 5/5 unless you really know what you're doing.

The increase in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48577 damage is why you want this talent, & although http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48577 isn't your main source of damage, it is often what you use to deal the last 25-40% of an enemy's health & finish them off, & this increase in damage can easily be the difference between getting a kill or not in arena. You will normally go with 3/5 in this, but you can also use 5/5 in this at the cost of other talents. I will discuss a bit more about this talent & the other choices you have shortly.

This talent is NEVER picked up. Although the reduced chance to be detected while using http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9913 isn't entirely useless, it generally doesn't matter because if a rogue goes past you it will find you, whether or not you have that talent, before you find it, & http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16862 is just a better choice.

ALWAYS put 2/2 in this talent. http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48574 is one of your main sources of damage/burst & obviously amazing if you're http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33917 specced as well.

This talent is NEVER picked up. The small increase in armor will have a minor effect against physical damage(very minor because most physical damage dealers in PVP have a decent amount of armor penetration), & is useless against casters. Again http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16862 is just a better choice.

ALWAYS put 2/2 in this talent. The increased movement speed is simply amazing, & the increased chance to http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=81 is a nice bonus.

ALWAYS take this talent. It is an essential cooldown to surviving burst & makes ferals A LOT harder to kill.

ALWAYS put 3/3 in this talent. A 6% increase in crit chance for only 3 talent points is incredible, & it is also a requirement for http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=37117, a talent which is just as incredible.

Unless you're http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33917 specced, put 2/2 in this talent. An 18 reduced energy cost for http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48572, your main source of damage? Sign me up! If you're http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33917 specced skip this talent, as you don't use http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48572.

ALWAYS put 3/3 in this talent. The increase in attack power is nice, but the reason this talent is so amazing is because it allows you to instantly cast a heal or CC when you spend your combo points.

ALWAYS put 2/2 in this talent. When you get a critical strike you will get 2 combo points instead of 1, which is amazing for feral as the more combo points you're getting, the more damage you're going to be dealing & the more http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=69369 procs you'll be able to get.

This talent is NEVER picked up. Expertise just isn't very useful for PVP as you're refunded the energy if your attacks are dodged, parried or blocked anyway & your main attack requires you to hit from behind, & you will be hit capped so the second part of the talent is useless.

ALWAYS put 2/2 in this talent. The increase in stun length just allows you to do more damage/healing while they're stunned or more cc in arena, & bringing down the cooldown on http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=8983 to 30 seconds allows you to use it twice as much.

ALWAYS put 2/2 in this talent. Not only is it a huge increase in your own healing to yourself & other players, you also get a huge boost in the amount you get healed while in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=768.

This talent is NEVER picked up. An increase in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=81 chance only while in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9634 just isn't very good as you only spend a small amount of time in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9634 & often you will be stunned or will be taking magical damage which would make this useless.

ALWAYS put 5/5 in this talent. The intellect & stamina in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9634 are nice, but you primarily get this because of the attack power increase in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=768.

ALWAYS put 3/3 in this talent. This gives a huge amount of survivability to melee attacks, & also increases your damage via the attributes increase. More than worth it for only 3 talent points.

ALWAYS get this talent! It gives you 5% increased melee/ranged crit chance to you & your raid members for only 1 talent point.

ALWAYS put 2/2 in this talent. The heal is nice & definitely helps a lot in fights, but the reason this talent is a must is because of the mana it gives you. Ferals don't have a large mana pool, so you will run out of mana very quickly without this talent.

Normally put 3/3 in this talent. A large amount of the damage you will be taking will be while you are stunned, as you have no way to avoid taking damage while stunned, so a 30% decrease in damage taken while stunned in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=768 makes it a lot harder for you to be killed. If you know what you're doing though, you can often go 0/3 in this as you will know to switch to http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9634 before you get stunned anyway.

This talent is NEVER picked up. It only works in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9634, so isn't very useful for ferals.

This talent isn't set in stone like most of the others, because of other talents which may be more preferable depending on your arena comp & your gear build. The increase in critical damage is only for your http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=6603, so isn't that useful for increasing burst damage where most of your damage is from your abilties. I will discuss a bit more about this talent & the other choices you have shortly.

ALWAYS put 3/3 in this talent. This applies a 50% move slow each time you use http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48572/http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48566, feral's way to keep your target from escaping, & also puts an attack slow on them.

ALWAYS put 3/3 in this talent. Restores 60 energy when you use http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=50213, allowing you to do A LOT more burst, & also decreases the amount of mana used when shapeshifting by a huge amount.

ALWAYS get this talent. If you're http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33917 specced it is your main source of damage, & otherwise it puts a debuff which gives 30% increase in bleed, http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48480 & http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48572 damage(read the tooltips).

If you're http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33917 specced, 3/3 in this talent is a MUST as http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48566 is your main source of damage. Otherwise you'll skip this talent as you only use mangle once a minute to apply the debuff.

ALWAYS put 5/5 in this talent. Increases your damage & burst by a huge amount.

ALWAYS take this talent. http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=49800 is one of your main sources of damage & this increases its damage by A LOT.

ALWAYS take this talent. http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=50334 is your strongest offensive cooldown & basically means you don't have to worry about energy for 20 seconds.

ALWAYS take 5/5 in this talent. This talent means after you cast a spell or use http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9634, when going back to http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=768 you will have 100 energy instead of 0, allowing you to start doing damage immediately. It also means you will always have enough rage for a http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16979 or http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=8983 when you switch to http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9634.

ALWAYS take 5/5 in this talent. Increases ALL your damage by 10%. Enough said.

This talent is dependent on personal preference & gear choice. The decrease to shapeshifting cost can be useful in arena comps where you don't have quick fights (with a healer). I will discuss a bit more about this talent & other choices shortly.

ALWAYS take this talent. A free http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48572? Thank you I'll take that!
After you have finished all the talents which you need, you will have 4 talent points left over & the choices to put them into are http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16862, http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33867 & http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16835. I recommend trying without http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16835, & if you are having mana problems then try with more points in it. I personally go with 5/5 http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16862, 1/3 http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33867 & 1/3 http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16835. But use whichever ones you prefer!
The http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48572 spec, in general, is better as it does more damage. http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33917 spec is often for people who have high latency & therefore find it difficult to get behind players. The advantages to using http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33917 spec are being able to build up combo points faster, & sometimes you simply can't get behind people in which case http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33917 spec will do more damage. The disadvantages are that you will constantly be parried, dodged or blocked (which won't happen with http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48572 spec), & you will (as mentioned before) do less damage most of the time. The choice is yours though, & you can certainly do well with either one.

III. Gear, Gems, Enchants & Professions
Spoiler: Show

Agility or Arp? How much resilience should I have?
Neither agility or arp are objectively better overall than the other, they both have their own strengths & weaknesses. It is your choice to choose either one based on your play style & what you aim to do as a feral.

The agility build provides better sustained damage, better healing, more crits(& therefore more combo points), & higher resilience(as you use more pvp offparts). It is in general better for duels, world PVP, & 3v3. I recommend using full wrathful main-parts & off-parts for this, except for your cloak & rings as they do not give agility. The amount of resilience you will use is up to personal preference, but I'd recommend somewhere between 1150 & 1300. Using the agility build is recommended for beginners as it is easier to play.

The arp build gives higher burst & much better damage against high armor teams. You need to have AT LEAST 40% arp to make going arp worthwhile, so I recommend only going arp if you have some PVE offparts & have some experience with playing feral. The amount of resilience you should use is up to personal preference, but I'd recommend not to go higher than 1150, & no lower than 950. This build is generally better for 2v2.
BiS List (for lowish resil, high arp setup)
Gems
Enchants
Professions
My personal choice of professions are http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=51311 & http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=51306. http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=51311 is because it nets the highest permanent stat gain out of all the professions, & http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=51306 is because not only does it give extra burst when needed, but it can stop http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=8177 without using a GCD, allowing you to use your http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=69369 proc before the shaman can http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=8012 it. It is also a very fun profession in terms of items you can get out of it, & in world PVP.

Two other choices are http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=51300 & http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=51309. I suggest you choose whichever ones you feel you will benefit from most or prefer.

Gladius - An addon for arena enemy unit frames. Advanced settings like trinket used, DR on cc, & more.

Sound Alerter - Says out loud when target/focus uses a cooldown, can set so says when arena partner uses cooldown on himself/you.

Aesa - Enemy cooldown tracker, shows time left on enemy cooldowns.

Dominos - Actionbar addon.

LoseControl - Makes it easier to see duration of CC on yourself, target, focus & party members.

CCReportRW - Reports CC on yourself as raid warning.

Doom CooldownPulse - Flashes your cooldown icon in middle of screen when it comes off cooldown.

Need To Know - Allows you to monitor buffs, debuffs, cooldowns & totems on the screen. I use for seeing internal cooldown on trinkets/ring.

OmniCC - Displays time left on cooldowns on actionbar.

Quartz - Better casting bar than default.

Power Auras Classic - Shows visual queues in response to in-game events such as buffs or debuffs.

These are just the important addons I use! This does not mean you have to use any of these or are limited to just these, but I do recommend using most of these as they can help a lot with PVP.

V. Spells, Abilities & Racials
Spoiler: Show

Feral Combat

http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=50334
[3 min CD, 1 sec GCD in any form]

In http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=768, your abilities cost 50% energy but you cannot use http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=50213. In http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9634, your http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48564 can hit up to 3 targets, & has no cooldown. Removes Fear effects & makes you immune to them for the duration (this does not include http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=47860 or http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=65545). This is your strongest offensive cooldown, & should be used to either score a kill or force cooldowns. Does not remove http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9913.
http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=50322
[3 min CD, does not use GCD]

Increases your current HP & maximum HP by 30% of your maximum HP for 20 seconds, after which the HP that was gained is lost. This should only be used if you would die without it, & normally will save you from death. DOES NOT USE GCD. REMOVES http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9913.
http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16857
[6 sec CD, 1 sec GCD in any form]

Decreases target's armor by 5% & prevents http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=1787 / http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9913 / http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=58984 for 40 seconds. Should always keep it up on rogues/ferals/night elves.

Increases you & your raid group's melee & ranged crit chance by 5% while in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=768 or http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9634. Also heals you for 4% health & 8% mana when you crit on a 6 second ICD because of http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=34299. Can be disabled, which is useful to surprise people in arena if playing with a hunter.

Stuns for 4 seconds & puts a bleed which does quite low damage on target over 18 seconds. Almost always used as your opener, does not share DR with your other stuns.

Instantly does damage to target, need to be behind target. Almost never used as its damage is low without buffs & procs up.
Damage abilities

Instantly does damage, puts debuff on target that increases bleed & http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48572 damage by 30% & puts a 50% move slow on target because of http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=58179. Always used straight after http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=49803, use only to keep debuff up on your target or if you are full energy & CANNOT get behind target.

Your main damage ability, must be behind target to use. Only use this if you have http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33917 debuff & bleed up on target. Again this applies a 50% move slow because of http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=58179.

9 second bleed which deals good damage over time. Should always be refreshed on target as soon as it goes down.

Does AoE damage in front of you. Not used very often, can be used to kill http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=34600 or http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=55342.

Your "WTF BUGGED DAMAGE" ability, with procs up can crit mages for 15k if you are fully geared, & plate can be crit 10k. Make sure you have a bleed up on your target before using, as it largely increases chance to crit. Please note that this ability consumes your energy for further damage, so only use this in arena if you are going to kill with it or your partner can kill target straight after as you won't be doing much damage straight after using this. This is a finisher, & you tend to use only if you have 5 combo points.

Finishing move that puts a 17 second high damage bleed on target. Ticks have a chance to crit.
Control Abilities

Finishing move which stuns target for 1-5 seconds & deals a small amount of damage. Shares DR with itself & http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=8983.
Utility Abilities

A feral's http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=1787 ability. Reduces movement speed by 30%. DOES NOT USE GCD.

A 14-34 second buff that consumes combo points to increase your damage by 30%. Usable while target is out of line of sight, does not put you in combat, removes http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9913. Please note that this buff is an enrage effect & thus can be dispelled by http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=55625 or http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/item=21835.
http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=50213
[30 sec CD, does not use GCD]

Increases damage done by 80 for 6 seconds & instantly restores 60 energy due to http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48495. This is your main way to burst while not using berserk. Does not remove http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9913.
http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=61138
[30 sec CD (shares 15 sec CD with http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16979), 10 Energy, does not use GCD]

Leap behind an enemy, dazing (50% movement speed slow) target for 3 seconds. Does not remove http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9913, BUT it DOES put you in combat as it is bugged on Warmane.
http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33357
[2.4 min CD, does not use GCD]

Increases movement speed by 70% while in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=768. Does not remove http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9913.
Damage Abilities

Instantly does damage, puts debuff on target that increases bleed, http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48480 & http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48572 damage by 30% & puts a 50% move slow on target because of http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=58179.

Deals a small amount of damage instantly & puts a 15 second bleed on target. Primarily used while tanking rogues to prevent them from restealthing.
Control Abilities

Stuns for 5 seconds. Great for keeping focus target cc'd for longer or using to heal or cast a cyclone in a duel. You wouldn't use this on your main target in arena unless it's for peeling them off your partner or want to force a trinket use. Shares DR with http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=49802.
http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16979
[15 sec CD (shares 15 sec CD with http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=49376), 5 Rage, does not use GCD]

Applies an undispellabe root (still removable with http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=1044) & interrupts spellcasting for 4 seconds. Primarily use this in arena to interrupt healers, or very useful against melees to root & then cast a cyclone/root. Note that this does not share DR with any other roots.
Utility Abilities

http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=5229
[1 min CD, does not use GCD]

Instantly restores 20 rage & 10 more over 10 seconds, during those 10 seconds you will do 15% more damage in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9634. Useful for when you need rage for http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=22842, or to do a http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16979 + http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=8983 on your focus target. Can also be used in duels to do a lot of damage in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9634 by using http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=5229 + http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48564 + http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48480.

Converts your rage into health over time. Useful defensive ability, more powerful when used with http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=50322. Each tick has a chance to crit.

Reduces nearby enemies' attack power. Mostly used to find rogues or druids as it removes http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=1787 / http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9913 / http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=58984.

When you crit in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=9634, you absorb damage from the next physical attack you take. This means if you are going defensive against a melee dps or hunter, you will take less damage if you are facing & attacking them rather than running away.
Restoration

Healing Spells

Long cast time but heals for a large amount (9-10k crit). Mostly used only as an instant cast with http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=69369.

Instantly heals you & does a long overtime HoT.

15 second HoT. Used before casting http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=50464 or if you need to move while healing.

Instantly heals you for a decent amount, heal is improved by 20% when a HoT is active on target. Most mana-efficient & time-efficient heal while you have HoT up.
http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48451
[Instant cast, 489 effective Mana]

9 second HoT which can stack up to 3 times, & when it expires instantly heals for a large amount. Your main heal to use while moving or unable to cast. Please note that the mana cost is 978, but you regain 50% of the mana back after the HoT has expired so is effectively 489 mana.
http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48447
[8 sec channeled, 2447 Mana]

Huge mana cost channeling heal but heals everyone in your party. Very mana-efficient if both you & your partner need healing, but can easily be interrupted meaning it will just be a waste of mana. This ignores line of sight.
Utility Spells

Removes a curse on a friendly target. Primarily used for removing http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=51514 from your arena partner.

Instantly removes a poison effect & removes 1 more every 3 seconds for 12 seconds. Primarily used for removing http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=2893 or http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=49001 on yourself or arena partner.

30 minute buff which increases armor, attributes & resistances by a considerable amount.

60 minute AoE buff to all raid members. This is important because it goes through line of sight, & therefore can be used to get in combat if a rogue would sap you otherwise.
Balance

Damage Spells

Instantly does some damage & applies 9 second DoT. Only rank 1 of this spell is used for removing http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=59725 or http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=8177.
Control Spells

http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33786
[1.5 sec cast, 20 yd range, 279 Mana]

A druid's primary & amazing form of CC. It basically removes the player from the game for 6 seconds, while in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33786 you cannot receive healing from HoTs or otherwise, & cannot gain mana from http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=29166 or http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=54428. You cannot remove this with http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=45438 or http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=642. You can also not cast http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=10278 while in http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33786, unlike other CC. The only way to remove cyclone is by trinketting it & it does not share DR with anything. As a feral this is most often cast using http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=69369.
http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=18658
[1.5 sec cast, 30 yd range, 244 Mana]

Puts a beast to sleep for 10 seconds. Mostly used on other druids, shamans or a hunter's pet. Note that this is a magic debuff so can be removed by http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=4987, http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=988, http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48011 & http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=8143.
http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=53308
[1.5 sec cast, 30 yd range, 244 Mana]

Roots target in place for 10 seconds. Mostly used on rogues or warriors, especially when partnered with someone who cannot remove roots. Note again that this is a magic debuff so can be removed by previously mentioned spells.

Applies http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=53308 on an enemy who hits you with a melee attack. 3 charges, but 2 sec ICD on same target.
Utility Spells

http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=22812
[1 min CD, does not use GCD]

Reduces incoming damage by 20% for 12 seconds, can be used while CC'd. Mostly used to slightly relieve pressure when you're going to be taking damage & want to stay cat form to also apply pressure. Does not use GCD.

Restores around 8k mana, but is a magic buff so can be dispelled/stolen so be careful.

Deals 73 damage when hit by a melee attack. Not very useful but should put on before starting arena/duel.
Racials
Night Elf

http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=62199
[2 min CD, does not use GCD]

Removes combat & makes you invisible, mostly used for restealthing instantly.

Melee & Ranged attacks will have a 2% increased chance to miss you, even if attacker is above hit cap.
Tauren

http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=46026
[2 min CD, 0.5 sec cast, does not use GCD]

AoE stun for 2 seconds, shares DR with http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=8983 / http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=49802. Used mostly to secure a http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33786.

Increase base health by 5% (around 400 HP).
Which race is better?

Night elf is a much better choice, but you should take whichever race/faction you prefer!

VI. PVP Combat
Spoiler: Show

Opening - knowing how to begin a fight
There are many different ways to open as a feral, & different situations will mean opening differently. The key to deciding is thinking about what each opener would achieve & if that is the best way to set up a kill on the enemy/comp you're facing.
Quick Stun Opening

This opening will focus on keeping your target stunned, resulting in a sacrifice to your damage, & can be used to:
Quick Burst Opening

This opening focuses on bursting your target soon after opening, & can be used to:
• create pressure on your target quickly to force defensive coooldowns, without you having to use cooldowns. To create further pressure in arena, your http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=69369 proc can be used to http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=33786 your focus.
• deal damage to your enemy in a 1v1 situation where you can quickly burst your target without being cc'd (often against mages, warriors, warlocks, paladins & priests)
Burst Set-Up Opening

This opening is for setting up a large burst later on, but provides minimal CC & damage during the opener. It is only used to:
• set up burst while playing in arena with a healer while you are also against a healer DPS comp. This allows you to achieve the maximum amount of burst later on, which you can afford to do as you have your healer to keep you alive while you set up the burst
• attempt to kill a healer by yourself
Berserk Burst Opening

This opening is generally used to try score a kill very early on, or at the least force cooldowns in quick succession. It is used when:
• you're facing a squishy double DPS team that you should be able to kill during or shortly after http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=50334.
• you're facing a heal DPS comp & you want to attempt to force multiple cooldowns & possibly land a kill.
• you're in a 1v1 situation. This can often be the best way to win.
This is BAD when you will be CC'd after opening (mostly against rogue teams).
Berserk Stun Opening

This opening is used to create pressure on your target while also keeping them stunned so you do not take damage. It is mostly used against difficult double DPS comps.
Dealing Damage - bursting as a feral druid
To maximize your sustained damage as a feral, you have to keep http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=52610, http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48566 debuff, http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48574 & http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=49800 on your target at all times. If you have energy while all these are up, use it on http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48572 & remember to use http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=50213 when you are low on energy. This prioritizes getting damage off as soon as possible rather than saving to do more in a shorter amount of time. This type of sustained damage is what you generally do in duels, world PVP or when partnering with another DPS.

While playing with a healer it is a bit different, as the damage on your enemies comes primarily from you. Against double DPS comps with little or no healing capability, you simply do sustained damage same as above. If you are against a healer DPS comp, however, you have to set up burst to deal as much damage as you can while your CCs prevent your target from being healed. To do this it is important to pool energy. A standard way to do burst like this would be:

http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48574 / http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48572 to 5 combo points > pool 100 energy > http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=52610 > http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48574 / http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48572 to 5 combo points > http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=49800 > pool 100 Energy > http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48572 x2 > http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=50213 > http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48572 to 5 combo points > http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48577

http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=50334 is the spell which allows feral to do burst without spending a long time setting it up, & is often used during the opener or shortly after, especially while partnering with a rogue/hunter as you want to score a kill as soon as possible. DON'T use berserk while you are low on energy or likely to be CCd as it will go to waste. I recommend using http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=50334 right before opening in most situations, but you will learn when to use http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=50334 in specific situations with experience
Crowd Control

• use on focus to stop them from healing (if they're a healer) or stop them from doing damage (if they're a DPS)
• use on target to stop them from being healed
• use on target to peel them from your partner
• use on warlock's pet to take off http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=25228

• use on hunter's pet to stop it from using defensive spells on hunter
• use on a druid/shaman in shapeshift form

• use on warrior/rogue/dk if their partner cannot dispel
• use on resto shamans to keep them far away or out of LOS of their partner as they have no way to remove it.

• use on focus target to CC them while your partner & your bleeds damage your main target
• use on your target to prevent them from damaging you/your partner

3. Thank you very much for your work. I'm about to roll a druid on Lordaeron and since I've never played feral in this patch before, I appreciate this guide a lot.

My hat's off to you.

Question: Thoughts on viable setups for a feral during S7? (2v2)

For 2v2 setups, you can either go with a healer (disc/rsham), or with a DPS (hunter/rogue). You can probably do a bit better with a healer if you're experienced as a feral, but playing with a DPS is a bit easier. For DPS I'd recommend hunter over rogue, and for healer you can go with either one, they don't differ too much in the way you'll be playing. Also the way you play with a healer is quite different from with a DPS, and generally you also have slower matches. So you can try with both and decide which one you prefer! Best of luck to you though, ferals are definitely very fun to play no matter what =]

5. Hi, congratulations for such an excellent guide its very simple but complete and the tips for pvp combat are really good for the ones that just started as ferals. You did a great job!

6. Hi, congratulations for such an excellent guide its very simple but complete and the tips for pvp combat are really good for the ones that just started as ferals. You did a great job!
Thanks a lot! I spent a lot of time on it so I'm glad you find it helpful. I plan to add more over time to make it a more complete guide, maybe add some duel tactics & tips or something =]

7. I have a question, cause i see a lot of people are using macros to change forms. What is wrong if you bind your binds on stance bar that you already have. Is it faster with macros or not?? Asking cause i have sometimes trouble with changing forms, i dont have lag, but my binds don't work correctly. Lets say mage freez me, i isntantly change form, out of cat, in cat form, and sometimes it need me 2 sec to do that even 3 sec. Like i have lag, but i don't ( have 40 ms) all the time.

Thx

8. Nah not faster with macros really, with /use !cat form macro or for whatever form though it's only 1 press (instead of 2 if you don't have the macro). With the wait for changing forms, it does require a GCD to switch back into whichever form or change forms so if you had just used an ability you would have to wait a second before you could shift back into form. Also if you're spamming it you might accidentally go into form and then instantly cancel it making it take an extra 1.5 sec, so be careful about that! Hope that answers your questions ^^ Best of luck =]

9. Really nice guide ;)

Btw, do you plan on making a 1v1 guide for feral?

Super cool guide. I'm just thinking, as a Shred build, putting in 2 points for Improved Mark of the Wild is worth more than the Predatory Instincts and whatever? Or is there a reasoning that makes it worse choice?

12. May 14, 2016
Thank you so much for your work and job you did to explain everything this helped me so much and i really improved and you did great job with this guide. Good one my friend!

13. I need Spell Penetration for feral ?

14. I need Spell Penetration for feral ?
75 obviously, since Cyclone/Roots are both spells, and they can be fully resisted without spell pen
