1. According to WoWhead normal version of Black Bruse (264 ilvl) is on pair with 258 ilvl Cudgel of the Damned/Remorseless from Anub'arak 25HC. The proc rate is worth average 3% as it follows the rules:

    The weapon proc is NOT affected by CoE/Ebon/E&M etc.
    The weapon proc is only indirectly affected by Sunder/Expose cause they increase physical damage but it's strange that they didn't mention if it scales indirectly by armor penetration too???
    The weapon proc does NOT work off Flametongue attacks just OH pure weapon damage which is 50% weapon damage.
    The weapon proc DOES work on Stormstrike and Lava Lash
    The weapon proc CAN NOT critical hit.
    The weapon proc does NOT benefit from the shaman t10 2 piece bonus damage.
    The weapon proc does NOT benefit from spell power.
    In additional The weapon proc suffers by partial resists.

    However in 277 ilvl (heroic) range you don't have many option beside Black Bruise and Havoc (for MH weapon). When you compare weapons in almost same ilvl range, Black Bruise is always the worst choice. This is why Black Bruise is given as a 3rd Bis weapon after Havoc hc and normal. This is why between Black Bruise (264 ilvl) and Frost Giant's Cleaver (264 ilvl) the axe is better choice and between Havoc (271 ilvl) and Black Bruse (277 ilvl) again the axe is better choice.
    Again I didn't reply to wuxianeko do NOT use Black Bruise at all. Ofc if you don't have acsess to LK weapon Black Bruise (277 ilvl) is your next option. He clearly gave 2 options and I clearly respond him that Black Bruise is worst weapon from these 2 options.

    Black Bruise heroic is 2nd best weapon next to Havoc's Heroic
    I don't know from where you got this information. Even normal Havoc is prio before Black Bruise hc.
    Again the proc has average 3% chance and on average it's doing 2 to 3% from maximum damage done.
    That means on 2m damage done it will be worth average 50k damage done. Every weapon in same range with pure stats will overwrite this value.
    In order to get maximum by this proc you need to prioritize AP>haste or AP=haste (since more AP will scale better with Sunder armor thus the proc will hit harder) and also to play with Tiny trinket cause it will increase the proc chance and also damage from Tiny also scale with the proc. In next days ill try to make some tests of this weapon although I know already what will be the results - the weapon proc is really worthess...

    3rd best weapon would be Pugius heroic fist as long as you are orc to benefit from expertise with fists.

  3. A few things. First, I've been using heroic black bruise for a while and I can confirm that I hate it. Like an *****, I seem to have vendored my Havoc's nm and am sorely regretting it. Seeing it at 2% of overall dps is just not acceptable. Meanwhile the axe has actual stats...

    Second, about the spell power build, I've been experimenting with it a bit and thinking about it a lot. I'm missing some of the pieces so that could have something to do with it, but my single-target dps is way down compared to the "traditional" build. However, my guild is going to start pushing LoD and spellhance is going to kick the crap out of enhance on valks...

    For actual AoE moments (3+ targets), I'm thinking of switching to LK caster mace on main hand and going to a different rotation, but I haven't found much info about it. From a bit of target dummy testing (I haven't tried sims yet; probably should figure those out) I notice that fire nova and magma totem are up _significantly_. Glyphed and specced fire nova has a 4s CD which is both hilarious and a ton of fun.

    From the limited information I've been able to find, there's even some talk of limiting the use of LB just to make sure that chain lightning is castable the moment it comes off CD (e.g. sitting on 5x MW for a second or two and using CL every 6 seconds is better than alternating LB / CL every 4 seconds) and I'd be curious to see if anyone here knows or has experience with that.

    Lastly, about the spellpower build again. I crunched some numbers and did a few tests and I don't think the SP build actually has a problem with melee crit going above the cap, because we're dumping so much agility. Do we actually need to gem hit to stay above that cap? I'm wondering about stuff like BQL Choker (crit/haste) instead of Silent Eulogy (hit/haste). I'm a big believer in hit = haste > everything else for the "traditional" enhance build, but for the SP build I'm not so sure. I think here it's more a matter of getting crit to keep up with the free hit rating we're getting from all over the place. Crit actually helps with all the spells we're casting whereas haste and hit only help tangentially with getting more MW procs...

  7. Most fun thing in enha gearing is hit cap.
    For 5.5k gs it doesn't matter, but for future improvements it is nor 14 nor 17%, it depends from your crit and can differ.
    But yeah, for low gear it is haste.

    I can't tell you why a random author of a random page uses a different gear combination.
    No idea on what his gear list is even based on.
    Is it based on simcrafting? Is it based on the ingame experience of the author?

    The BiS gear of this guide here is based on EnhSim and it is the most accurate list that you gonna find for Enhance shami for patch 3.3.5. Forget about other random sources that you find on google.

  11. Hit doesn't affect glancings, u can't get rid of them with any stat. Hit in main thread obtained to improve hits from dual wield, and to push up AA crit cap.

    Is anyone else getting weird amount of hit rating needed from Rawr? It's telling me i need 408 hit rating, thought the hit cap was 368(14%) with the druid/priest 3% hit buff, I've even enabled that as well in the options. Don't know how to fix it.

    You are correct that the soft spell hit cap of 368 (14%), RAWR is telling you to get more hit because you are over the crit cap. Look at Melee Crit it should say (Over Cap) and once you get enough hit the (Over Cap) will disappear.
