Cold Weather Flying requires at least 225 skill in Riding. This means you need to spend 5000g in Expert Riding (grants you 225 skill) so u can fly in Northrend.
So lvling to 80 is a total bad experience. We start at lvl 70 and need to farm an unaceptable amount of gold tobe hable to use a lvl 68 skill.
Plz consider make a pool about this subject. I'd like to hear the comunity toughts

I hit 70 last week and was able to farm enough for epic flying. hopefully by 74 (when i can port to dalaran) ill have enough gold for it. 800g atm

players had to be at level 77 to obtain their first Cold Weather Flying, and cost is 1k gold, and 225 skill in riding it's a first fly which costs around 350g

225 riding is NOT epic flying
its the normal flying which costs ~220g

To fly in NR is 1k gold and lvl 77
5k gold is the fast flying mount (280% speed)

You can only use the cold weather flying on ur 71 toon if you send the book from ur main. And I don't see how it's a total bad experience as you said considering that we wasn't allowed to fly during 60-70 either.

As said above, to fly on northrend you need lvl 77 to learn Cold Weather Flying. The only way you can fly at 68 is having a 77+ main character and sending this http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=49177 to your 68 alt.
