1. [Cataclysm - Warsong] Synopsis Sub Rogue Guide.

    Introduction
Hi everyone. First, I want to say that this guide is entirely made by myself. So there could be some mistakes, I am not a high end arena player or a professional rogue.
But I hope this contribution will help some beginners, young rogues or confirmed ones. This guide will be focused on arenas.

    Table of content
    1. What is the best race to play rogue ?
    2. Talent & Glyphs
    3. Gear, Hit Cap and Stats priority
    4. Enchanting & Reforging
    5. Macros
    6. Keybinds

What is the best race to play rogue ?
In my opinion, the Alliance’s best races to play rogue are :
    • Human : Your racial is a medaillon, so you can have 2 dps trinkets in your gear.
    • Night Elve : Your racial makes you in stealth and out of combat, but you can’t move or you go out of stealth. Just use a macro to cast a stealth after the Shadowmeld, and you have a new Vanish.
And the best Horde’s races are :
    • Undead : your racial is an Anti-Fear, useful against shadow priests, warriors and warlocks.
    • Orc : your racial is a burst spell, useful when you use Shadowdance with your trinket.

    Talents & Glyphs

    Talents

Here’s my main spec, used by most 4.3.4 rogues.

This talent tree is based on Hemorrhage instead of Backstab, so your main source of damages is a combo between Hemorrhage and Slice and Dice.

    Glyphs
    Prime glyphs
    • Shadow Dance : 2 more seconds to apply one more ambush or a garrote.
    • Hemorrhage : undispellable DoT, and activate a +16% damage buff
    • Slice and Dice : one of the two sources of damages in the spec
    Major glyphs
    • Blind : useful if you switch target in 2s/3s (example : with a warlock in RLS)
    • Preparation : 2 smoke bombs, 2 kicks, 2 dismantles… What else ?
    • Garrote : because... More cs?
    Minor glyphs
    • Poisons : if you want to reset a arena match, useful to change poisons if necessary
    • Blurred speed : useful for BGs
    • Safe fall : use in BGs too

Gear, Hit cap & Stats priority

    Gear
    Neck : Proficiency
    Cloak : Cruelty
    Bracers : Accuracy
    Waist : Cruelty
    Boots : Cruelty
    Rings : Cruelty / Accuracy

    Hit cap
The hit cap is 600, wich is 5%. This is the only thing we have to keep an eye on. The expertise cap of 21/21 is also interesting.
    Stats priority :
5% hit -> crit -> haste -> mastery -> exeprtise (if you decided to avoid the expertise cap)
5% hit -> 21/21 expertise -> crit -> haste -> mastery (if you decided to get the expertise cap)

    Enchanting & Reforging

    Enchanting
Weapons : MH = Landslide // OH = Pyrium Weapon Chain
    Shoulders : Vicious agility
    Cloak : Crit
    Chest : Resilience
Bracers : Agility (+130 Agility with Leatherworking)
    Gloves : Expertise OR Agility
    Waist : Gem slot
Legs : Crit and Attack power
    Boots : Agility
    Rings : Agility (Enchanting required)

    Reforging
    Head: Crit
    Shoulders: Crit
    Bracers: Crit
    Legs: Hit

    Macros & Addons

    Macros
You can find all basics rogue macros here.

    Addons

I use a lot of addons, because I have my own UI, so I use Bartender4, Masque with Masque: Darion, Chatter, Align, TidyPlates, ShadowedUnitFrames, Castbars, SafeQueue, SexyMap, LoseControl, and of course Gladius.

    Keybinds
Personnaly, I think keybinds are personnal preferences. A keybind wich is perfect for me can be the worst thing for you. So, find keybindings that fit you, and you’re now ready to go.
