I was thinking about that for a while and was wondering if there is more people equally insane as I am.
The idea is creating a char (or using an existing one, whatever) for guild based RP. The RP would be always based in one location, where is some village or a fortress. For example Menethil harbor, Southshore etc. The guild would always create a group with its own command, such as some personal guard of placeholder in Southshore, and then, under orders of its captain it would finish some quests, make its own quests based in location and on the situation in it or simply RP in some tavern, which is always fun. After finishing RP in that location, which would take from one week to one month we would move to other location and recreated ranks in our guild (so for example the one who was cook last time could enjoy the RP of brave swordsman as well).
That is basic idea. I personally think Alliance is better for that, simply because I like that middleages atmosphere better than deserts, but I would be able to play Horde as well.
There would be some basic rules, such as no OOC says, emotes or behaviour during RP, nothing unknown to those who enjoy RP at least once in a while.

I agree , But i still suggest we start RP on an other server as Deathwing or Ragnarose seems its basic lower players and no qeue time which makes us easyer to og in.
And then its just a matter to add each other and buy a guild creation.

If you're crazy on RP and would like to create your own RP quests, I'd suggest downloading TotalRP 2. There's also the WotLK version compatible to 3.3.5 (1008)
If you're doing other realms like cata/mop, the list of addons in the other subforum will list you the proper version

The collectors are one such guild on frostwolf. The Matron is neutral more or less, but stormwind and the alliance share some common goals Our guild thread is below. It's primarily an rp guild, but the odd person who might want to get it a go and join as well, no problem. The 7x rates make it easy to level up at a good pace for an rp group. Personally I'd rather rub a jalapeno pepperf in the eye then do 1x rates for xp and skills.
Larping is involved, but mostly we mean to be story driven guild with everyone able to develop their characters. I've been trying to hatch an introductory session but everyone says hey! Include me! then....don't log in for a week later or....two weeks later... sometimes just disappear altogether.

I got character in Deathwing (Espie) as well now, and I visited Frostwolf sometimes. You'll frequently find me (Estie) lamenting in Goldshire while avoiding the duel requests in Frostwolf. I managed to do an RP with random gnome (and some other Night Elves) in the inn. Of course, being a Death Knight, it's not exactly an easy thing, being cold and distant and all....
I'm guildless in Deathwing at the moment and my guild members in Frostwolf has gone elsewhere (we got on sometimes, but the period varies)

From what I've read I can see the best would be to create such a project on Deathwing - fine by me. Only I didn't meant to create RP guild, story guild or whatever like that, I meant loction based RP for about 20 players, in the most ideal case split to two fractions, such as (in case of Hillsbrad Foothills) Southshore Guard, whose main RP would include patrolling, escorts to nearby Farm and dealing with bandits, and Bandits, whose main goal would be to corrupt Guards' ranks, kill their leaders or simply make money on stealing, robbery, kidnapping... there is plenty of space for that.
The main idea of that is to stay in one location and have pure RP experience, no levelling, gear hunt or whatever.
My ideas may show themselves as impossible to make into reality, but I actually experienced this in three years of roleplaying on RP server, where we enjoyed full time RP in Hillsbrad (there was only one location, so we could get together since there was only about 50 roleplayers).

Good lortune to ya with your concept!. Again, I'll say the collectors are neutral and all matter of rp from mystery, character rivalries, tomb raiding, perhaps other stuff. I mean pretty much everything. Something for everyone and I've GM'd across the board, RPing for years. **advertisement**. Larping is fun for a while, but if you don't have anything meaningful to RP or character development folk lose interest fast and go onto the next new idea. The grass is always greener on the other side ..

If you guys are looking for more players on Alliance Deathwing, I'll join in. Do you RP at level 80 or a lesser level? I prefer the experience of RPing with twinks (especially Hillsbrad based) but how would you guys feel about taking on a Necrotic Warlock whose been kidnapping players for his rituals?
I will also say this; in my history of roleplaying I've found that the groups that are smaller seem to be more fun. If you just had 10 dedicated players you could rely on it is loads more fun than a group of 50 maybes who might log in every few days.Edited: January 14, 2016

Not sure about any possible roleplayers still lingering in Deathwing, but all I know is no one's using any RP addons, at least none that connects to the xtension2xtooltip (or something along with that) channel.

I actually spend most of the time online on Loarderon, levelling alts. I tried to RP a few times on DW, but it's like... don't want to comment it. I think there's many roleplayers, but since admins ain't interested in roleplay and it's not really possible to be playing on PvP server, where you may get camped in the middle of RP by some 80 lvl imbecile, I'd say it's dead topic :)
