1. Oathbinder vs Cryptameker for PvP

Which weapon and respectively specialization is better? I've read that axe/poleaxe spec is better for the 5% crit, but it seems to me that 15% arp is a big deal. Currenty I'm at about 50% from gear and gems + 10% from Battle stance + 15% from mace spec = 75% total arp.

I'm considering should I get Oathbinder or get something else with vote points.

  2. Given the choice out of all 3 weapon specs, Poleaxe definitely wins, so you go with Oathbinder.

5% crit is huge, +You get all the agillity from it, which is even more crit. You also get +5% crit damage too. You'll crit harder and more often basically, meaning more deep wounds which is a little extra dps. This will all add up to about 7% crit which is freaking insane in comparison.

Battle Stance right now doesn't actually give you 10% arp, it reduces the target's armor by 10% THEN it calculates your ArP.
So let's say target x has 10000 armor. Batttle stance will reduce this to 9000 and then your ArP will be effective here; so if you have 50% arp, the target would have 4500 effective armor against you. The same applies to mace specialisation however im pretty sure they don't stack to reduce target's overall armor by 25%, it's not additive. It's multiplicative. So that would mean if you had mace specialisation you'd get target's armor reduced by 10%, then reduced by another 15%, then arp calculated. So for a target of 10000 armor it would look like this. 10000>9000>7650 Then apply ArP.

You can go with what you feel is better but most warriors will recommend Oathbinder for its crits as well as Mace Spec and Battle Stance being a bit strange when it comes to ArP.

I also thought the same as you, getting 90% and then getting battle stance, but when i regemmed to get 100% ArP in battle, I was doing so much more damage since I was always missing out on that 10%.

If you like, I'll prove it to you in game, just inbox so! Cheers

Oath is pretty much an smourne with more crit but without the str buff and aoe burst. The problem with cryptmaker aside from the ilvl and the specialization is you either have to take into account the hit it gives and gear around which will require at least 2 items different from bis or just eat the overhit which is a waste unless you got the crypt for free and is your best weapon.

  4. I am seriously wondering how many times this thread has been started so far...

Oathbinder is the clear winner and every time I see another "Oathbinder or X" thread I cringe.
