You're clearly still DOWNLOADING THE GAME when it clearly says that this only works with FULL 5.4.8 CLIENT

That is because your game is downloading missing Data. It will not let you go through if it has no information of that zone.
Only having a faster connectivity can speed up this process (or downloading the full client from the web).

Did you download the full client (not the minimal one)? Because the client will no longer be able to download after you patch it with WoD customizations.

After fully downloading that I downloaded the WoD models that HonoR95 provided. Was I supposed to download the whole thing provided by warmane?

3. You must have the new 5.4.8 client, not 5.4.2 with new wow.exe

Disabling read-only permissions should help resolving this issue.

I am unsure whether there have been changes on the customizations files.
You can try just replacing Wow.exe, and if that does not work for you then proceed to download and replace the 3.1 GB.
