1. Major Guild Bank Update

Due to an incredible act of generosity the guild was donated Seven Hundred and Fifty Gold by simply someone who has as much faith in what we are doing as we do; his/her actions have enabled us to unlock upwards of three guild bank tabs, so for that the Templars of Ironforge clearly have some kind of reputation going now and this is a very good thing.

I'm hoping to see a lot of new people join up as we've already made a small impact by being the friendly, polite, genuine people we are, so I look forward to the future with open arms!

  2. Bank Update & Reputation

We now have three bank tabs open and active with things being poured into the first two (which primarily are ingredients and reagents, bags and low level items for people between levels one and thirty), and with that I must say thank you to our kind donor, whom will remain anonymous BUT I must say that this person donated seven hundred and fifty gold towards our cause overall. This leads me to believe the Templars of Ironforge now have at least a small influence and reputation on the server overall; people are starting to very slowly talk about us for example, and that alone is enough to get the party started. With three members total (one being slightly inactive due to school and one being active and new to playing a healer) the guild I imagine will begin to boom quite regularly soon.

If you'd like to join now would be the time to do it; we have two low levels in it who are ready to role play and have fun, one mid level being myself, and since I'm at level forty I'll be shifting focus from leveling up to going around various zones seeing if people need help while also reagent mining/harvesting for the guild and for a profit for everyone.

If you're already in the guild then as you level up please be sure to type in the /general chat that a member of the Templars of Ironforge is in the zone and is available for aid or questing. Tell them what role you play (healer, tank, dps) and actively try to be a part of the community overall. This will boost our reputation while also doing wonders for your own experience; as when you end up questing with someone else, incorporate role playing as much as possible. If you don't actively do things like this you likely won't rank up in the guild, nor will you be in the guild very long as we're trying to breathe new life into an otherwise damaged server.

  3. Something to Note

Many people are seemingly intimidated by the role playing aspect of the guild and while it's true that the guild will focus heavily on role playing, we are also enforcing cooperative play as my previous posts stated. Each player will be trying to reach out and play with other people as a team while trying to accomplish various goals in PVP, PVE and RP. Meaning everyone will try to level up and help one another in a game-play sense, but with everything we do regardless if people are role playing or not I encourage the entire guild to role play with other people. Even if the other people don't get it or whatever, incorporate role playing into that and make it seem like you're taking everything they say (that isn't illogical babble) into in character context.

Further more if you're someone whose been interested for a while but just have trouble role playing, well no shame there just ask me for some pointers. I'm not the best but I'm not the worst out there, so certainly I can help a little!

  4. §Valentines Day Update§

Recently I decided to help improve relations with the human race in order to see if we can drum up positive support there as well. Humans will not excel as much as a dwarf or a gnome will in the guild, but they are welcome to try as long as they really believe in the ideals of our order. I've always welcomed them by the way, but the humans I messaged back via in game mail pretty much blew me off, so we'll see..

Also I started a huge role playing journal type event on another section of the forums. It'll be something to write during the down times in my adventures, giving thanks to those who help us while explaining what we're about via a first person view of Moonbacks life. Check it out here http://forum.warmane.com/showthread....f-the-Templars and have a good one!

  5. The Healer Conspiracy

I've ran into so many groups who want to run an instance but simply cannot find a healer. Every priest I group with is a shadow priest, every paladin is a retribution paladin, every shaman is enchant, every druid is a feral, but I've so rarely found dedicated healers on the server. Time and time again I will back out and down from a group because healers simply do not exist, and sadly the "back up" healer very rarely knows what the hell they are doing as they aren't geared, speced or understanding enough of healing (despite it being simple) to do anything but scream at the tank (usually me) for pulling too many mobs. They don't take responsibility for their inability to learn a new and very useful skill set, so they often rage quit the group and go back to DPSing. The group I just ran into said and I quote..

"It is way too painful to play a healer."
"Yeah I like blowing stuff up and you can't as healer!"

False and false; I have a level ten healer named Marianus right now, he goes around as a discipline priest blasting *** and taking names. I must mention I've also never played a priest beyond level ten, and I've never played a discipline priest, and I've even read a discipline priest is pretty hard due to the fact it focuses on preventing damage rather than healing damage so to speak. Right now I'm switching off of Moonback and onto Marianus because I want to prove a point; healers can solo, healers are needed, healers are welcome additions!

Guild wise I have to make a point, we're not allowing shadow priests in the guild, and I'm also not going to group with any or run with any. Why? Because almost every priest I've ever grouped with is a shadow priest who has no concept of healing at all and barely understands it. I know this sounds really harsh, but at this point dramatic action must be taken! If this server wants people to group together and have memorable experiences, we need healers.

Healers, the Templars are waiting and we need you more than ever, time to sign up.

  6. Strange Misconceptions about Healers

I'm finding a great number of priests under the level of sixty and most seemingly show interest, despite being human and not dwarf/gnome. That's all fine and dandy but they all have been saying they are healers, who play shadow-class. That part irks me a bit because you can't heal nearly as efficiently as a shadow-priest. If you know what you're doing and drop all your offensive spells and just go for healing, you'll be a decent healer but nothing compared to a holy or discipline priest - and that goes for all classes of potential healers and their respective alternate trees. Every character I come across though claims it's super slow, super hard, super ineffective to heal from level 1 to 80 and that is bull****.

    As a healer you can...
    - Get groups easier.
    - Stay alive easier.

If you're looking to auto-level super fast, you shouldn't be on a server with x1 gains anyway. I for example play a priest under the discipline tree whenever I'm bored and I level pretty fast whenever I'm focused on playing. I'm often never alone either cause all I have to say in general chat is that I'm a healer, and bam I get thirty invites for a quest run every minute. I also get a lot of dungeon run requests too which comes with quests also and free loot. Do note I've never played a healer like this in my life; I'm normally a druid under the restoration section, but a discipline priest is kick *** and I love playing it.

I suggest people get out of this x7 gain mindset and just learn to play something out of your comfort zone. Quit fearing the grind, you're on a x1 server!

  7. Open Call for Revolution

This server is dying for two big reasons.

    - Multi-boxers are able to run through the entire game without ever partnering up with anyone. I don't care if Blizzard allows this, but without an RDF there is literally zero hope of anyone finding a legitimate group of people to quest with or especially go through dungeons with. You do realize that most people have gone through a dungeon about five times under the level of sixty right, if not less, without being ran through by someone stronger or using a multi-box toon.

    - No healers, there are no healers what so ever in this server and the excuses I find are so bad that I basically want to pull my hair out. People think it's slower to level, people find it harder to play, people blah blah blah if you want to level up instantly leave this server and find a higher gain server.

Right now I'm calling out to the people who don't multi-box, who don't play healers, as I want you to make a new character and I want you to join my guild as a brand new person. I want you to try something different, I want you to break away from the normal atmosphere of multi-boxing, avoiding healer specs, and getting some level eighty to run you. This is my open call to any legitimate players on this server who actually care to make a genuine change to the server. The admins and mods don't care, they're banning anyone who lashes out and says anything about it, so the only way to make their whole dream of a server without RDF so players can group up and make memorable experiences thing happen, is to do it ourselves.

I am tired of this, you are tired of this, new players are tired of this, people are being treated like dirt, lets make a damn change shall we? Aren't you better than this? I know I am, so lets make something magical.

Also I must stress that while playing on Moonback I've been in a productive party around my level, questing, and having fun maybe three times at the most. The rest of the time someone helped me with something at a higher level, or I had been going around literally helping out hundreds of players.

The Templars need help, so we can help others.

[Edit] Recently I've seen the loneliness and misbehaviour of this server reach a high point. I was questing in the Burning Steps region, had some shadow priest come up asking for help, shared some quests with her, then she kicked me out and took off with a buddy to quest - leaving me to thankfully not die but still.

I'm pretty sure we need to change this server for the better. The Templars will not give up or go quietly, we must make a difference!

  8. Hi there!
I've just made a dwarf warrior, it's my first character here, and thinking about joining you. I would like to roll as tank, if it matters. My name is Dalin, I'll try to pick up the contact with you if you are still alive.
"Keep your feet on the ground."

  9. 2/19 Update

I have finally figured out how to use Total RP 2 Build 1.008 to create custom items, states and quests as far as I can discern. Doing so will enable me to effectively make basic, mundane, but interesting quests that will allow guild members to go about their game differently. These will all be in character / role playing things, that also will effect the PVE/PVP world around you - meaning I might send an initiate on a quest over to Southshore to help someone (player or NPC), I might send them to Tarren Mill to steal something from within its confines, and so on.

That means if you want to join the guild and ascend through the ranks, you likely need to download that addon so you can go through the gauntlet in order to go from one rank to another.

One more update is that I had to kick a member out recently named Conroy; he was an overly racist troll who basically speaking we had problems with, and by racist I don't mean he was against a particular race per say as much as he was pointing out he was "african american" every chance he got. He was also acting really strange and didn't listen at all for some reason. Dalin I'm sorry but we had to kick you as well; the reason for that one is simple, you literally did exactly the same things as Conroy did. You weren't really listening and you took it one step further to basically beg for gear, and we don't do that.

  10. Custom Quests / Total RP 2 1.008

Made the first guild quest yesterday, but due to the poor reception of it I decided to scrub it and start over from scratch. I do however still suggest you get the addon Total RP 2 build 1.008 however as you will need it for some things if you want to ascend in rank in the guild. Rank ascension will be based on a lot of factors, but as long as I learn to incorporate our own unique quests into it then it'll be good to go.

  11. Eh, it's not bad, really. Just a little tweaking will already make it look nicer. At least you managed to make it work without having to reedit and resend it multiple times like I did to Vena

  12. New Members / Dwarf Fear / Global OOC Chat Channel / News

From the top I'll say we have a lot of new members as of late, though two recently quit. One left because they thought Dwarves are ugly and couldn't physically stand playing as one, and the other vanished without a trace. That being said we have ten members counting myself! This doesn't include the ten people I've role played with outside of the guild either, so there are plenty of people to venture with here.

People seemingly have a lot of fear of playing Dwarves and somewhat Gnomes as well. I'm unsure why they think dwarf/gnome women are so ugly, but hey we could use more of them if you're that type to play one.

I made a new global and or general out of character chat channel for anyone who wants to join that and not the guild. Usually people frequent RP-OOC but as of late (and as I've said in another thread) there are a huge number of drama starters in there that have been scaring off new potential role players. Well we aim to keep it friendly; if you can't be civil and work your problems out in whispers or in private conversations, then don't take it to public locations. But since that isn't always something people understand I made the chat channel OOC - it has a password of course so you'll need to ask me or another trusted member to enter it.

In other news our reputation is growing slowly, people are pretty much avoiding playing with most players now a day and a lot of players seem very aggressive as of late. Global chat has been full of racial tensions in OOC forms as well, but the Templars are going to continue pushing their ideals. We've been called a cult of exclusive role players who refuse to play with or talk to other people during these weird moments, and that just isn't true! In fact it's quite the opposite! We've been trying to talk to a lot of people only to be met with a lot of hate randomly; some of this hate points to public forms of defamation of the guild from people we booted out or refused entry from, other forms are simply the typical underage banter that kids throw out at you. We won't stop trying to be friendly however as we want this to change!

Finally guild events are and will be a thing. From low level dungeon runs to raids and even simply role playing events where we all get on our mounts in Azeroth and wander the roads slowly for people to help, it's coming!

OH and we changed our emblem from a Hammer to a Cross of sorts, figured it was more fitting.

  13. Guild Event 3/1/2016 & New Idea

Given that we have a high population of players now in the guild I figured I'd do a guild event that helped focus on our whole concept. We'll be going to Elwynn Forest and chilling out at the Lion's Pride Inn in Goldshire, from there we'll be helping players routinely with their beginner quests, and generally introducing our characters to one another in person while establishing a role playing base and story with one another. We'll also try to incorporate everyone in the general region, and push them to join us to role play. From there we'll also ride to Westfall to see if anyone in that region wants to role play or quest around with the Templars as well. While questing and playing with others by the way - role play - even if they don't bite you keep role playing.

The new idea came from a discussion with a fellow RPer on the chat channel RP-OOC about seeing if one of the higher-up players (in terms of level and wealth) might want to build their own guild called the Adventurers Guild. This would help bring a TON of players together who don't want ties to specific belief systems or strict ideals. This kind of guild would be for all kinds of solo and private group adventurers who literally just want a place to call home and to hang out with other role players as strictly adventurers with no real ties or allegiances on a huge scale. That means unlike my guild, the other guild would allow just about anyone in it regardless of class or race.

Another thing I want to note is that we did allow ONE rogue and ONE hunter in the guild, and they are to be put under a special branch that will not ascend very high at all in the guild, but they exist for RP and practical purposes (locksmith / tracker / etc).

  14. Update 2/27

Had to remove some inactive members of the guild recently (gone for over two weeks or more) as well as kick out people who were basically in the guild just to fart around rather than role play, help people, or anything (the typical "I want munnie" people). As far as members goes we have upwards of eleven, twelve if you count one that hadn't joined yet. The search for more is a bit rough given the global chat is literally full of people who are spamming about how the guild is seemingly racist for not letting in a bucket load of night elf druids, but it happens.

The adventurers guild idea is being twisted in my mind a bit in case I have to build it myself, but I'd prefer not to as I do have things to do and can't be arsed with running two guilds! So if you're a role player then get in touch with us at RP-OOC (the chat channel) and see whats up there, we could use an intelligent and mature new or old role player to help with this for sure.

The guild vault is literally overflowing on the first three tabs; been working on getting a forth tab but it isn't too easy, one thousand gold here I come!

Lastly I'll be hosting several events in March; the first being the one in Goldshire which was mostly an open-call to all role players, both the ones we hang out with currently and any newbies who are just afraid of the "lolcyberbullying" that happens on the server. You're among friends here so feel free to join the events if possible. The second event i have planned will be more-so for the guildies I have if they log in round about the same time, mostly focused on the Dun Morogh region so we can help drum up support for the guild, while doing our duty in defending that region.

    That's all for today folks!

[Edit] Actually there is one more thing! Like I've been saying I did allow a Rogue and a Hunter in the guild for their specific skills and uses both in and out of character. One is a dwarf, one is a gnome, so the race still works and they both are supporters of the ideals of the Templars. I'd have let Groin in (a dwarf hunter) but he kind of vanished from the role playing scene.... Either way I'll likely be making a "Specialist" rank for both of them to ascend to. That might put them on the same general level as a Knight or Noble Knight, but we'll see.

  15. These guys are still active and looking for Roleplayers on Alliance.

Make sure to read the rules and send an in-game mail to Moonback.

Looking forward to playing with you all!
