1. Upon logging in it tries to start an update.
You need to log-in by using warmane account name, not email address

  2. Permission Denied.

" chmod +x " i tried this and dragged it, does anybody have a solution for this one? it keeps saying permission denied. I also have the file on written and read.

  3. Hi all, so apparently I found a way to fix it without entering those commands chmd etc etc.
I found a guide on google saying to download zip file do this and that blalbla: http://www.mediafire.com/download/3i...f_Warcraft.zip
All I did: Extracted it, added it to my wow folder that I had already downloaded. Then just being frustrated I randomly dragged the file to Terminal without entering any additional commands. Pressed enter, and WOW launched out of nowhere!
    Hope this works :V
    worked for me

  4. Excelente funciona a la perfección

  5. hi all, i did the " chmod +x " in my terminal and dragged the world of warcraft file in and hit enter, it comes up with all the codes and at the bottom it says "process complete" but wow log in is not coming up. any help would be great thanks

  6. For anyone that's stumbled here from google like myself, THE WOW DIRECTORY MUST BE WRITABLE by USER! The app writes logs, setting configs, etc into the directory that you've downloaded. If it can't, it crashes. And it will immediately upon start try to write out logs and configs.

/rant For the love of god, stop running commands you see posted online if you don't know what they do. The ones here are wrong or mostly wrong.

If you don't know what `chmod` is, use the GUI:

    1) Right click the downloaded WOW folder
    2) Click Get Info
    3) Click the Sharing & Permissions drop down
    4) Set "<user> (Me)" to Read&Write where <user> is the mac account name

    Boom, done.

I've tested with Group ("staff" typically) set to RO and that doesn't seem to break it, so leave it as is. Since the app only writes to it's own dir, it shouldn't be a problem.

If you know how to use chmod, then you've probably not read this far. If for some reason you have, you want 755 perms, only on the top dir.

  7. Follow this http://forum.warmane.com/showthread.php?t=315525
    It really works
Ps: Remember to make sure there is a space before chmod +x and after : " chmod +x "

  8. Hey so I've done the chmod +x thing and when I try and open the wow file it says it needs to be updated by the developer. Does anyone know what I should do?

what Mac OS have you got ?

  10. New guy, new pc, no idea

what Mac OS have you got ?
I have got the same issue. I run the basic MacBook Pro 16inch one. It runs Big Sur on the latest update as it stands. I have no clue what should happen after my download. Believe me when I say Ive tried every command and downloads possible. Running the command does make it an executable file but opening it doesn't do much other than opening up a terminal thingy. Someone please guide me through this process. If anyone uses Wine as well, that would be helpful. None of the yt videos on how to use wine help with this particular .exe either.

Yes, I have both versions (Windows and Mac) downloaded to try both alternatives.
At this point, anything to run the application would suffice. Thank you

Big sur OS does not run 32 bit app. That is why you have issue using Mac WoW version.

    These are the workaround:
    1. You can use Wotlk for windows by using "CrossOver" (by following this guide http://forum.warmane.com/showthread....=1#post3043338 )

    2. Otherwise, here a different solution by using Wineskin:
