What do I do to get started on this server and where are all the people. The website says there are four thousand people online but I only see five. Where do I go to interact with the rest of the people on the realm?

For starters that 4000 is combined horde and Alli 1-80, so not all of them are in the starting zone

You have to know that there's a lot of zones in the game, and all players are spread out in those, so that means you wont see all 4k online, at the same place.
And, what Sadiegirl says, its both ally and horde.

Go to STV, stand at Nessingwary camp for 5 mins and you will meet new friends for sure !
