1. For WoW as of MOP all you need is a strong single-thread performance cpu especially during raid or in main cities with many characters around.
    As you can see inside the pointed green box below, WoW runs heavily on one single thread out of 4 cores (116% / 400%).


    Modern i3 and Pentium cpus would be sufficient.

  2. Yeah WoW isn't really a CPU intensive game. I run 5-10 WoWs (multiboxer) on an AMD quad core (like 3.4 ghz). May main screen is set to run at 60fps, and all my other smaller screens maintain 30fs always. No lag. My CPU runs near idle.

    If you want a faster computer, maybe overclock, but more importantly get a Solid State drive.
