Hi guys,
It will be a quick post: GearScore doesn't mean GearSkill. Buying yoursefl stuff (and therefore) Gear doesn't imply you'll be a good dps/tank/healer. When I look at recount stats on ICC fights, I'm astonished to see many people with 5k5+ gs at 5-6k dps, while I'm at 5k5 and 7k+ dps.

Gearscore is an indication of your IL, it's not a proof of your efficiency.

When will ppl understand it? It's such a joke sometimes.

you could do VOA with 3.5k easily

No, but GS often shows that you have experience in the set raid. 96% of the people with high (6k+) gs have done ICC 25H quite a bit. And of course you'd rather invite them than a 5.3 dude who did TOC and RDFs.

Oh, and your 7k dps is not impressive for a 5.5k character. Get a guild and stop crying.

I would rather inv high geared people to my raids to save time rather than inviting 4.8-5.3 people and require a DPS test+HPS test like before just so I would know they have "skill". Pug leaders don't know if you have skill or not when u join their pug raids so the only thing that would assert your effectiveness is your gear and achievements. In heroic or even normal in some cases, a DPS who does alot of DPS is not worth it if they get one shot by flames on marrow just cuz they are lacking gear. This would also stress out the healers more and divide their focus rather than keeping tank top all the time because they need to heal you in a snap or your gone.

An advice, if you really want to gear fast and earn money in the process make your own raids and join a guild that does stuff not those who invite random lvl 1 players to make their guild pop bigger.

Sure, but having low GS doesn't mean they'll be better skilled than the high gs player you described. Just because you can pull off X-dps, doesn't mean that everyone else with the same gs can do the same. Also, with bigger gs, comes faster runs and better chance for success.

You can find people 5,2k gs people who heal/tank better than 5,8k+ gs.

You can find 5,5k+ people who do less than 6k DPS, and 5k people who do more than 6k DPS.

But you can also easily find people at 5k gs who do less than 4k DPS. That's why they raise these gearscore checks... It's better to have a "good geared" person that doesn't know how to play well, than a less geared who also doesn't know who to play.

If u are doing 7k dps, go farm naxx or some rdfs or some normal ToC raids, till u learn how to play, people do 6-7 k dps with t8 gear.

p.s. complaining about GS req is so dumb, its normal that people require gear in ICC, even tho u can do full 25 man naked (be carried), pugs dont do such things afaik.

Let’s say you’re naked and I stuck my sword in you, you will die easily just like that. Now imagine if you have armor and I stuck my sword in you, you might die as well, but I’ll have to put some effort to kill you.

When you’re fighting someone 1vs1 – say you are naked skilled player and your opponent has gear with no skill at all, he/she will randomly swing at you and that’s it you’ll be on the ground dead.

Now suppose both of you are naked or both of you are geared and fighting each other, then the skill comes into the play.

Therefore, having gear is always better to do raids or to fight someone.

Just get used to it, most of the people on this server are extremely bad at the game, so they have to ask 5.8k for ICC 10n, despite the fact that people with that gear have no reason to even do 10n. The people that ask this high are always either much lower geared than what they ask, or they have no clue what to do and so the raid ends up wiping on the first or second boss till everybody leaves.
