1. Noob level 80

    Hey guys,

I'm a complete noob when it comes to WoW and I was just wondering if there were any noob-friendly websites/guides for people like me. I am completely clueless of what exactly I need to do now that I'm level 80. I've tried using google but there is just so much information I'm not quite sure whats legit and what sucks. Also, most of the guides on this forum were removed and the few that there are to complicated and not what I'm looking for.

I cannot stress it enough that I'm a complete novice at this game and any straightforward, easy to follow advice and guides would be awesome. Also, I apologize if I'm asking for to much.

    Thanks for the help!

  2. first try to got exalted reputation with some tribes in northland so you could get some gear from it, after that you can start farming fos/pos for better gear and joining rdf then with better gear for rdf hc. You can try PvP in bg's and to get pvp gear witch is faster way to get more gs.

    fos - forge of souls
    pos - pit of saron
rdf - random dungeon finder/ hc - heroic mod
    PvP - player vs player
    bg - battle ground
gs - gear score witch is calculating your item lvl

  3. Umm here is everything you actually need to know now.

    - First you need to get exalted reputation with: "Argent Crusade", "Kirin Tor", "Knights of the Ebon Blade", "The Wyrmrest Accord" (the order doesn't matter). It is needed to get some decent 200 lvl blue/purple gears to boost your gs. You should use "wowhead" site to track quests for those fractions (and for everything else). If you are at a deadlock for progressing - another good option is to wear the tabard of needed fraction and go any northrend dungeon/raid.

    - Get upgraded flight and northrend flight. Also if you have some spare gold - you can buy some cheap purple boe items (bind on equip) from auction house.

    - After you get ~3k gs you should get quest near dalaran bank and go fos (Forge of Souls). During quest there you will also open pos (Pit of Saron) and hor (Halls of Reflection) later. Your main goal now is to !farm! these dungeons until u have all items for your class in every slot (track gears needed in wowhead). Another reason you are here are "Emblems of Triumph". These are very important for your progression, because you use them to buy tier 9 set and other items. Another good way to farm triumphs is to farm heroic dungeons with rdf (random dungeon finder(+2 eot bonus)). You will need to get something like 300+ eot for 4piece t9 and other sruff (you don't need pvp resilence items).

    - Farm toc (Trial of the Champion) 5 until you will obtain trinket for your class.

    - There are more things to do! Now you are interested in getting exalted with "The Sons of Hodir" fraction. Their vendor sells best shoulder enchants in game, so you will anyways need it sooner or later.

    - Getting rings. These are pretty easy to get, yet they are consuming tme. You need to get exalted with "The Ashen Verdict" fraction. It is very easy task - all you need is just to join any icc reputation farm in global (type "/join global" in chat) and to spend some time there killing monsters (don't forget to remove your tabard off if you wear any). In the end you will get 277 level ring, which you will never wear off, since it is best in slot (bis) for every class. Another good ring to get will require 10.000 gold. Also i recommend to get exalted with "Kirin Tor" first to get discount. You need to go in Dalarans jewelry shop... and buy the ring from the vendor (choose very carefully, get ring with stats for your class). After that you can keep upgrading ring at the same vendor up to 251 lvl, which is pretty cool.

    - After u get ~4k gs try to join FOS/POS hc (heroic version) to get 232 lvl items.

    - Start raiding. After you get 4k+ gs you can try to join some raids like OS 10/25, ONYXIA 10/25, NAXX 10/25, ULDUAR 10/25, TOC 10/25, VOA 10/25. Your goal now is to get 5k+ gs to go in Icecrown Citadel raids. To obtain that you need to buy items for eot and to farm TOC 10/25. Also i recommend you to join any guild, cuz otherwise you won't join any icc10n raid any time soon.

    - And yea, do rdfs every day to get emblems of frost, also try to do weekly quests (like Lord Jaraxxus Must Die, Sartharion Must Die etc). Eof are needed for next gearing step (t10), so you need lots. Another thing u should do weekly - VOA 10/25, cuz u can get t10 hands and legs there.

    - If you want to join some pvp - don't que on bgs until u are at least 4-5k+gs (otherwise it's just stupid, cuz you won't be able to do ANYTHING, will always dead (oneshotted) and your team will most likely lose). Pvp needs pvp gears, so you will need to farm honor. Don't use pvp items in pve, people don't like it.

  4. To gear yourself correctly,
    - First of all go on your parameters and check the option show items lvl
    - Know that the main difference between pvp (player vs player) gear and pve (player vs elements) is the resilience, pvp items have, pve haven't (it's not usefull in pve).
    - Try to get piece of gear of the same item lvl who give a bonus like 2 pieces 232 (in the first time) then 4 232, notice 232 set pve is named T9 (the T represent the fact this is a pve set) he have 2 variations, gear with 245 item lvl and with 258, they work together even if they have different ilvl only statistics change.
    For information : T9 : 232 / 245 / 258 (same set bonus) ; T10 : 251 / 264 / 277 (same bonus set)
I say it again have your set bonus is the most important thing to do a good job (expect for tanks and holy paladin (these last only need 2 T10 at end game).
    - At the time you have your set bonus, track pieces of gear which give you statistics you need in your specialisation,
as a mage you have to prefer main statistics like Stamina/Intellect or Stamina/Intellect/Spirit, as secondary statistics (greens ones) you have to prefert hit, spell power, haste and critical,
Specialisation you chose determine statistics you will promote,
An Arcane mage will choses items Stamina/Intellect + Spell power/Haste/Hit, until he have 7% of Hit (check your charater window, this number assume you have minimum a (Sadowpriest or BalanceDruid) in your raid or group AND a Drenei in your group (note that Horde people have to get one additionnal % of hit give by gear because of the lack of drenei)), then he will prefer Stamina/Intellect + Spell power/Haste/Crit ; at end gear he will obtain his 7% hit, reach about 1300-1400 haste and maximize is Spell power for more infos look for BIS list (BIS mean Best in slot item)
A Fire mage have basicly 2 choices of specs : Main Talent tree in Fire, rest in Arcane, this template assume you look for the talent Torment the weaks in arcane part, he is named TTW Fire spec ; the second choice of spec is Main talent template in Fire, rest in Frost, this template assume you look for the talent Icy Veins in the frost part, he is named FrostFire spec. After he have made a choice between one of these two specs he have to decide if he want to play a game oriented critical, a more balanced one.
A TTW Fire mage have to reach 13% of hit (Assume a raid with SP or balance druid AND Drenei in group), Frost fire mage can choose the talent "precision" on is frost talent tree so he only must reach 10% hit.
A fire mage (no matter TTWFire or FrostFire) who choose a balanced gear will prefer Stamina/Intellect + Spell Power/Crit/Hit in order to be hit capped then he will prefer Stamina/Intellect + Spell Power/Haste/Crit; at end gear he will obtain his hit cap, reach about 72% crit full raid buff, then he use is gems in order to maximize his spell power.
A fire mage (no matter TTWFire or FrostFire) who choose a critical oriented gear will prefer Stamina/Intellect + Spell Power/Crit/Hit in order to be hit capped then he will prefer Stamina/Intellect/Spirit + Spell Power/Crit; at end gear he will obtain his hit cap, and then maximize crit.

    - Finnally, track good Trinkets, a mage look for trinkets which give Spell power, Haste or Critique (stay in the way of your specialisation and always read the full effet and be sure that a trinket with a proc will be activated by you spells, for exemple a High level trinket named Nameless Phylactery give a spell power proc but he is activated by your Dot (Damages on Time) on the boss, so a mage arcane (no one of arcanes spells made DoT) don't will activate the phylactery effect in the fight, so even if the trinket is huge he is useless in arcane spec)

Forgive my english, isn't my mother tongue, do not hesitate to pm me for more infos or for some explanations about what I have said, i can reformulation in a most understandable english.

I hope it's can be usefull,

    Tiny.
