Where Should You Go To Gear Up After Hitting 90?

Should you go right to Timeless Isle like you did in 5.4 on live? Or should just start JP farming immediately like you do on some other private servers?

Timeless Isle is the best shot at the moment, since you find gear just by looting chests randomly spread across. There is a treasure map out there, with all chests marked on it and where to find them. This is arguably the most convenient and recommended option to be fair. Not to mention the Crystal of Insanity you can find from looting Eerie Crystals. Once you hit around 474 ilvl you can join battlegrounds or queue up for rdf, depending on your preferences.

It most likely means they've been recently looted and the actual drop hasn't been generated, even though the doodad itself does show up. It's a pretty common issue (albeit slightly annoying) so don't worry about it. There are plenty other chests!

Idk, Ive been sitting in front of it for about 20 minutes watching Youtube on my 2nd monitor, and noone has come and looted it, but it's still empty. How long does it take for it to respawn?

1st step is always AH. You can buy pretty good gear there (crafted malevolent). If you dont have enough gold- now is the time to make some (after Oct 1st, gold rate will drop). At the moment 1 quest in Panda zones gives like 250+ gold and there are a lot daily quests you can do to farm gold.
Next you may move to Timeless isle and RDF farm (simultaneously- while you wait your RDF CD to drop farm items in Timeless isle). Then you may convert JP to Honor (because lowest pvp items are ilvl 522 and they give decent stats for PVE). And then you may start to run BGs (just don't do it when you are fully green geared, because people will hate you, you will die 1 shot = this is not fun )

About timeless isle chests- some of them are buggy and empty till the server crash/restart. Just move on and open everything you see on your way.
