when someone begs for gold to get himself started in the game, i have absolutely no problem with that, i have given enough gold to beggars.
The problem in my humble opinion is: most beggars here on the icecrown realm don't even take the time to look up online on how to beg in propper English.
I think there is a difference between begger A who asks me for a bit of gold and salutes me afterwards and says thank you, and beggar B who is running around stormwind or orgrimmar and spams constantly"who give me gold, really need for mount so give me"
In my opinion even beggars should have sort of an etiquette and ask things in proper english and have at least the courtesy to say thanks.

This, theres a huge difference in "give gold for ride" to "I am new to the server and would really appreciate it if someone was kind enough to give me a few gold so i could get started here, thanks for reading this." and thanking the person that gave you gold (and ideally add them to the friend list so if you ever are in a position to help you do it).

My second post somehow is half finished. Right after writing here, I went to Ironforge and someone gave me an item that worths 100g to vendor. I was about to ask people to help me to get started.
Thanks for the ideas everyone. Really appreciated.
Beg for gold, what kind of suggestion is that? That's the reason I never bother to visit Stormwind or Goldshire, or any part of Elwynn Forest in that matter unless I really have to. Even Blizzard has made fine example of the beggars in Stormwind. Just look at Topper McNabb
what exactly have they done to deserve the gold? if someone can't be arsed getting their own gold, they don't deserve anyone elses.
What kind of screwed up attitude is that? Why would they need to do anything at all to deserve gold? Just the fact that they are new to the server and dont have any while others have plenty is more then enough reason to give them some gold.

no, it isn't. all your doing is promoting lazy *** behavior, which is half of what is wrong with this damn server. everyone thinks their entitled to everything without putting a damn bit of effort into it. hopefully after the gold squish more people will start encouraging newbies to work for their gold, instead of joining you and the rest of the beggars.
Its not lazy, its just easier and faster and its all around better. Its the same as if you asked a lvl 80 to help you with a quest or with a enemy player who is ganking you, its a community. In fact the 50 gold or so are usually much faster earned then what it takes to help someone with a quest or an instance.
Or are you against high level players helping out low level player in general too?

i don't help anyone outside of a guild if i'm in 1. if you can't do it yourself than you don't deserve the reward for doing it. the only exception to that is obviously content that is meant to be done in a group.
