1. I've personally never felt that way about shadow in the 7 years I've been playing the class.

    In my experience too much haste ended up causing me a dps loss from not enough critting. I opt for the balance approach due to the effect shadow form has on crit. Both stats are important which is why I don't go for double haste trinkets.

    You are correct about rune being a bis trinket pre-ICC however. The 2nd trinket I prefer from heroic PoS off the last boss.

    Spirit is okay but not a stat I'd value more than crit however.

    I don't expect you or others to agree with my stat preference but it's what I've observed over the years. Pokemon / Sixtyninee has experimented with a haste build and ended going back to the haste / crit balance I originally recommended.

    Just my 2 cents.
    I never thought that a Shadow Priest would really think about using double haste trinkets. Do some of them actually go for that?

    This is a very well known information that the two BiS trinkets are http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=50365 [Crit] and http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=54588 [Haste].

    I wish I could share your surprise but it was a common trend for awhile where spriests were running around with heroic DFO and heroic CTS. Since the days of Ulduar I learned early on the importance keeping crit and haste balanced and it was something that carried over into ToC and ICC.

    When you obtain your 4 piece T10 it can be useful to carry around crit or haste food when you're lacking raid buffs or if you're lacking in a particular stat. This used to confuse the hell out of guildies but it had its value for me personally. When the stats are fairly balanced I'll use the normal SP food instead. To each their own.

    There's an add-on out there as well where you can experiment with different gear and gem sets that also back up the theoretical numbers value of keeping the 2 stats balanced as opposed to going heavy haste.

    I agree with you. In the very end game BiS gear, you can easily obtain an amount of haste between 1200-1300; So there's no point into running http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=54588 + http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=50348;

  4. My guild can only raid ICC 10 Man-N/HC content, and with that being said I plan on getting in ICC 25 Man-N content as a PuG;

    My final plans for the trinkets, due to my guild situation, are: http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=50345 + http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=50353;

    I agree with your input. However, what I said about 'go for haste' didn't mean anything about having x2 haste trinkets. Just an advice in general, not specifically use x2 trinkets or gem haste etc. With the ideal sp haste crit items and having crit and haste trinkets us priests never lack crit in general. All in all I agree with your 'balance approach' statement. Cheers
