Correct me if im wrong, but shouldnt 5% or even 6% hit rating prevent from missing skills in players? I have played couple of duels against druid resto tauren shaman etc, and i was missing like 5 spells in long fight.

4℅ is the soft cap as caster but some specs and races have additional chance to be missed.
6℅ hit chance is the hard cap as caster as far as i know.
5% for melee
4% for casters.
some players requires higher hit rating to be hitted because of their Racial or talents. Example: Night elf has 2% chance to be missed if you have only 5% as melee hit rating
The hit rating on this server has been bugged and ignored for years. Don't even bother. You'd be assured that the only misses you see are on NIGHT ELVES, which ofc isnt true since almost everyone is human and yet the misses are super common. And while you are at it, throw the 'dodge from behind'.
Ask anyone that does bgs all day and gets to see thousands and thousands of hits, and u'll see people even those with 10% miss. But it's how things are prioritized here, so if I was you, I'd just go along with it.
Missed a Shred on an undead frost mage yesterday while having 5.68% melee hit.. something is off
im at 6.01% and i only really miss vs blood elves or when insect swarmed yeh
i'd need a ridiculous amount of hit rating to hit all the time even vs paladins w/ insect swarm debuff its not worth it at all
For example affliction warlock has talent that gives 3% hit rating,so all i need is to get 1% hit with gems or gears and the rest hit is gonna come from talent?
I ask this because many classes have it and i wanna know how it works
Not to mention defense which on-top of adding to ones dodge/parry also gives you a chance of flat out being missed, so anyone you run into that has any defense gear will also have a chance to be flat out be missed.
its bugged get over it.. i see rogues missing ambush from behind with 6% hit..
i have dodged ambush and cheap shot as orc warr, its weird..but well it happens

I think a lot of these complaints are due to a lack of knowledge regarding racial/class mechanics.

Here are some others that people typically indirectly complain about while calling them bugs.
If I recall correctly Warmane uses a fork of Trinity.
The hit calculations should look similar to the following:
