1. World of Logs setup and usage

    Ola,

So the purpose of this thread is to introduce you to a website named http://www.worldoflogs.com/ how to upload your logs to it and on how to use it.

    Let's get started..

What can I do with this website? Well for starters it can be used as an online recount/skadda that gets saved online. But there's more to it. You can check almost everything. Examples: Did the X player use X spell when it was called at X time? For how much does a NPC hit? Who or what killed a X player? Is X spell working correctly? Is a NPC using it's correct spells and do they work correctly? All that and more..

So on how to set it up for yourself or for your guild.

    Step 1:

Firstly we need to register. Do so by going here: http://www.worldoflogs.com/accounts/register/
Fill everything even the e-mail don't use a fake one.

    Step 2:

The second step is to create your guild to which you'll upload your logs to.

Name: Yourguildname or if ya wanna use it for yourself just type in for example your main char name.
    Timezone: Pick your timezone
Realm: Just pick something dun bother with that one
    Faction: Ally/Horde
    Url: Leave this empty
Disable premium rankings: Leave it as it is unchecked
Default report visibilty: Public ppl can dig you out. Private only you see it.

Click create guild and your're done for the website part.

    Step 3:

Third step be downloading the client which you use to upload the logs. The client form WoL itself will not work. So download mine: Download.

Download it, save it somewhere. Open it up. Click Edit and chose Preferences.

    Step 4:

In the box you need to type in the same login info as you did on the worldoflogs website.

Logs Directory: Type in the location of your logs folder.

    Step 5:

Now to make logs. You login. Type into chat /combatlog . By doing so WoW'll start making logs. To stop it from creating logs type /combatlog once again or simply logout. Each time you relog you need to type /combatlog once more to start making logs.

    Step 6:

After you're done fillling acc cardinals. Now you may chose between 3 options.

Open a file: U find and open a log:
Open the WoW Log: Opens the log file on the location that u predetermined when filling acc cardinals.
Start a live season: You'll upload logs in real-time. You need to do /combatlog ingame beforehand.

We'll do it the open a file way.

    Click Open a File
    Find your Log.
    Select the log
    And Click open

    Step 7:

Last but not least. Now you decide which part of the log you want to upload. The graph shows active time. Marked as blue = gets uploaded.

If you wish to add an comment then do so by typing it in the Comment box.
    Else just click upload

    Step 8:

And lastly. If the upload was successful you'll get redirected to your log on worldoflogs.

The client will gief you the option to split logs and auto delete. For the auto delete to work you need to be loged out of the game. Else you need to delete it manually.

    How to use it

As I said before. U use it in the way u need it. You wanna check DPS and damage done on a X boss?

Mouse over the "Dashboard" select Damage Done. Mouse over "Full Report" and select "Bosses" and the boss + try you want it.
    http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/r...ses&boss=36597

    ------------------------------
I wanna see for how much a NPC has hitted me.

For that we gona use Expression editor. It's basically database mining stuff. Very easy to use xd.

Mouse over Dashboard and select Experssion editor.
In the box we'll type for example. We wanna see Shambling horror hits, hockwaves on a player named Imey.

    So we type in:
    sourceName = "Shambling Horror"
    and targetName = "Imey"

sourceName = The NPC/player/unit doing the attacks, abilities and so on. Actor name so to speak
targetName = The target who was targeted by that NPC. Actor's target

We get something like this: http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/r...%3D+%22Imey%22

    -------------------------------
Now moving on. I wanna see Lich Kings defiles.
Since defile is only used by LK we can ignore the sourceName part.
We type in: spell = "Defile"

    spell = "nameofthespell"
    And we get this: http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/r...D+%22Defile%22

    -------------------------------
Now something more complex. I wanna see all the spells that're being casted in phase 2 and phase 3 of Lich King + infest trough the whole fight. I wanna see only the casts no damage from all the spells except Soul reapers.

    sourceName = "The Lich King"
    and spell = "Soul Reaper"
or spell = "Defile" and type = 6
    or spell = "Summon Val'kyr"
    or spell = "Quake"
or spell = "Infest" and type = 6
or spell = "Harvest Souls" and type = 6
    or spell = "Vile Spirits"

type = 6 means we only see the cast time

Result: sourceName = "The Lich King"
    http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/d...ile+Spirits%22

    -------------------------------
Example: I wanna see only Physical damage done to a Drudge ghoul.

targetName = "Drudge Ghoul" and school=PHYSICAL

    Result: http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/d...ool%3DPHYSICAL

    --------------------------------
Example: I wanna see if a paladin used Divine sacrifice:

spell = "Divine Sacrifice" and type = 6
    Result: http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/d...and+type+%3D+6

So that's from my side on a quick look on how to use worldoflogs. For more it's up to you to explore the rest of the functions :p

    Cheers
