You actually made me laugh, I won't lie :D

Gear will be given out accordingly, if you are worthy of it (that is equal for everyone, no favorites here). If you do your job, show up for raids in due time and with proper attunements, pre-raid gear, consumables and knowledge, then you will gain points. The system works equally for everybody, so don't judge before you try, even though it was funny because it probably happens in some Guilds.
