World guild PvP

I had a thought and I wanted to run it by you guys and see if this was a thing. Does anyone know if some pvp guilds "claim" certain areas in the world and "patrol" those areas (killing opposite faction members that enter that area) to try and establish a presence there? Almost a rp meets pvp type thing. I don't know, just seemed like something some guilds might do to keep things interesting in a world that otherwise doesn't change much.
