Is Resto druid (51) feral (20) viable?

I know the norm is to work with Balance, but I'd really like to be able to play resto but input my damage as a feral, since that's what I'm used to... So would anyone say it could work, or am I just outright crazy?
I mean this mostly for PvP, but I suppose PvE too...

druid hybrid specs are only somewhat viable in tbc, not in wotlk

So it's pretty much only viable to play resto with points in balance then, any points in feral would be a complete waste?

That's more or less what the pvp resto spec looks like, with feral charge being a must as well as the energy cost reduction allowing for pounce-maim-clone control chain.
I can't recall where the remaining points go but you get the idea !

In pve there is no such thing as a resto-feral spec though
